  I have a Qosmio F30-112.
  I tried to install the Windows XP Professional instead of the Media Center edition.
  However, during the execution of the installer, my laptop does not recognize the hard drive. Therefore, the installation cannot continue.

  I thought it might be a problem of corruption with my laptop and reinstalled Media Center Edition successfully.

  The fact is that your notebook has a SATA controller and you need a SATA (Intel Matrix Storage Manager) driver.

  I need help, my laptop (Qosmio F30 - 112) have a problem.
  When I started it scratch on the screen and flashes.
  Then if I try to reboot it works, but not normal; still have a small scratches and dots on the screen.
  I checked it on the Device Manager NVIDIA GForce with a yellow mark.
  I tried to uninstall it but nothings happened.

  Please some body help me what to do in this case?

  Have you tried to install or update the display driver?
  Please check this because the yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager may mean that the display driver is missing and so the graphics card does not work properly.

  Otherwise, it could be a GPU problem.
  This can be tested easily; connect an external monitor and check if the same stripes, points would be visible on the monitor that is eternal.

  If Yes, then it s certainly a GPU problem.
  In this case, only the replacement of the motherboard might help.
  Also, upgrade is not possible.

  There is unfortunately no way to do it. Qosmioplayer is also part of the media offered by this book, and as you know this small Linux based application runs without booting the operating system. Due to this USB port can not be used (external receiver) and because of this one way remote control with Qosmioplayer is infrared receiver window.

  I'm not a technician and can explain you why this little infrared window is not used with the operating system running but, I'm sure, there must be a technical reason for it. Anyway, there is nothing to do, and you have to live with it. :(

  I m not very well why this happened, but to me it sounds like that files on Toshiba recovery disc can be read correctly.
  Maybe the disc is scratched or else

  I've updated the BIOS on my Toshiba Qosmio F30 - 140 and I have issues with the management of ACPI.

  When I try to run Ubuntu 9.04 or 9.10, I see constantly typed characters - "^ [[B ', which cancel all important processes.
  When I add "acpi = off" option to GRUB the problem seems not apear, but I do not have access to important features (like changing the brightness of the display). How to solve this problem?

  first: "never touch a running system", but you already know...

  with this new bios, you have enabled some features of the motherboard...
  Try this:
  -turn off acpi in the bios mode, if possible
  -patch your kernel to use the acpi features
  - or disable the use of the features of acpi by boot-cheats

  as you say the problem doesn't exist when starting with "acpi = off".
  display brightness and the cooling of the processor are the main features of acpi to save energy, if your kernel can not handle
  check_acpi_ignore = 1 might be a way to make it work

  way the easiest way is to reinstall the system...

  your machine has a RAID controller, so before installing windows, you must install the RAID controller before. This occurs after you´ve began installing XP. Then a message on the bottom of the screen will appear that tells you that you must press F6 if you install HARD drive controllers (or something that way).
  You need to install the RAID driver from a USB floppy drive, which can be downloaded here:

  After you have installed the driver for your drive HARD will be displayed, and you would be able to install XP.

  I have checked the manuals users and, if I understood right, using S-video out port just image will be send to your TV. To get a sound, you must use speakers for laptop or earphones connected to the headphone jack.

  In my opinion the best solution is delivered cable SCART. Unfortunately, the cable SCART is too short. With HDMI port on the device (as on some Qosmio G30) is much easier to plug into the TV.

  I have a driver on the CD: AVerTV v5.2.0.14 Slovakia Patch
  but during the instalation it shows me: ' WARNING: TV bad utility version!
  This driver is ORIGINAL TOSHIBA CD! NO COPY...
  and when I try to connect my Toshiba for the air gap 'normal' laptop antenna cable is able to find only three Hungarians (I am from the Slovakia) program im the very bad state too, when I connect this cable to the classic TV, I watch more than 30 programs...
  Where is the problem?

  Is possible that on the Slovakia, there does not exist a DVB - T signal?

  The Qosmio F30 must be transmitted with the hybrid tuner TNT and it should be possible to receive digital signals if the digital signals are available in the country and region and the signal must be strong enough.
