You have to locate the files on your internal hard drive, using the Explorer, then drag and drop them on the hard drive.  If you don't know where they are on your hard drive, right click on the video file in the library and choose the location of the opened file.

    Hi Jim,.

Thank you for visiting the Windows Vista Forums.

Since you aren't able to add items to the Windows Media Player library, you can follow the below provided not, because this problem can occur because the database to library Windows Media Player corrupt.

    1. click on start.

    2. click on run.

    3. type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player.

    4. click on OK.

    5. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

6 Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

7 restart Windows Media Player and check the error.

Jim, if this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps,

    Click Start.

    Click run.

    Type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft.

    Click OK.

    Select the Media Player folder.

Click on Delete on the file menu.

  • cannot display the data in the library of Windows media player 11.

Original title: Windows Media Player, have a huge problem.

This has to do with Windows Media Player version 11.  Yesterday, I had a music library and today nothing.  What is happening with this?  If I copy a CD and it said that it was torn at the library... I remove the CD and look in the library, and there is nothing there.  What is it and what do I do?

  • Lose the metadata between Rpping and recently added to the library in Windows Media Player 11

    Hello

I am running XP Pro SP3 with Windows Media Player 11.  When I copy a cd, I am able to see all metadata for the album, wallets, etc...  After extraction of the CD, when I go to the library and look in the library recently added, the album metadata disappears and I have to do an Album Info find all over again.   Is there a setting I need to use to keep the library metadata of the tear of the album?

    Thank you!

    Anna_Marie

I suggest that you try to reset the library, by following the instructions for WMP 11 on XP at http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary. Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too.

    Who help me?

  • In Win7, how move you or rename a single multimedia file or media files containing single file without causing the library of Windows Media Player become corrupt?

I am trying to manually rearrange media in a way and records are arranged and named on my Win7 PC. I need to be able to move and rename files and folders individual.

The problem is that the traditional method of doing such things (i.e. the cut/Paste and Rename commands in Windows Explorer) will cause the damaged Windows Media Player library. It seems that all the changes to the paths of the multimedia files must be made in the Windows Media Player interface. However, I'm unable to find options to move or rename files or folders in WMP.
I am aware that there is a way to move and rename all the files and the folders that contain media files automatically, but not what I'm looking for. As far as I know, it does not allow me to select only the files and folders, and it offers very limited options for what could be the new places and names.
What is the feature I want to exist in WMP? If not, is it possible to do outside WMP which will not cause the damaged WMP library? (Also, if not, why not, Microsoft?)
    Thank you

    Hello

You can change the location of folders in Windows Explorer.
After changing the location, I suggest you to rebuild the Windows media player library.

I'm trying to move images from windows media player library of images, or if possible to another account 'user '.

Windows Media Player and libraries contain no files, you just tell him
    where to find files.

For other users to access the same files, place them in a folder accessible
to all, such as public folders.

  • Library of Windows media player 11

my photos and albums photos somehow were transferred to the library in Windows Media Player and I can't move back to my original hard drive. (I have baby pictures I need to the rescue!) Help, please!

The WMP library is just a 'view' different files on the hard drive. None of the physical files are actually stored.

In most cases, the physical files on the hard drive should still be there. To view in Explorer, right click on a photo in the library and select the location of the file to open . Does it work?

Original title: IRQL NOT or LESS EQUAL (BSOD) help

    Hello

I've experienced this * IRQL NOT LESS or EQUAL * problem irregularly from January 2. It happened after doing some tinkering with the registry of Windows Media Player files (but I made sure to return to the default options once I'm done and I have also provided a backup copy) since it generates random album art files and I am looking for a way to stop him. I also deleted the files Windows Media Library (wmdb). I don't know if this has nothing to do with the BSOD. This error occurred at random intervals, sometimes after opening my computer laptop it will BSOD sometimes, it won't happen after long operating hours. Hope you can help me with this.

These accidents were related to the corruption of memory (probably caused by a driver).

Run these two tests to check your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.  Launch auditor.  You don't need to run memtest again unless the auditor is not the cause, or you want to.

If you are overclocking anything reset by default before running these tests.

I was wondering... you are totally unable to download the file
on your hard drive? Or... you can download the file to your hard drive
by car, but simply cannot display it?

If you right click the executable for Windows Media Player and
in the menu choose... Properties / Compatibility tab is...
Windows 95, chosen for Compatibility Mode? If_Yes_try
unchecking the box / apply / OK.
