Adding a player of dvd rw to my fujitsu siemens.

I have a fujitsu siemens 1.3 desktop celeron with 512 MB of ram and 40 GB HDD. There only compact disc player cd player. I recently acquired a pioner dvd rw drive and would like some advice on how to install and all the possible problems that I meet. want advice on the best possible decoder to use with it. Thank you.

There are a number of sites in the statement.  This video on YouTube was the first hit in a Google search for "How to install a DVD player" and there are about a dozen more videos on this YouTube page.  There are also many non-video instructions.  And here's one: http://compreviews.about.com/od/tutorials/ss/DIYCDDVD.htm
You shouldn't need special "decoder" - Windows Media Player should be able to play DVDs of your new drive.  (Writing) software DVD burning is another story - Windows does not come with DVD burning s/w, so you do not have to recover some if you want to do.  Nero and Roxio are probably the two most well-known trademarks.

  • Windows Media Player 11, DVD video, not big enough in fullscreen

During playback of movies DVD with WMP 11 and in full screen, the video does not stretch to the edge of the screen.

I have a flat screen monitor set to 1600 x 900. When I entered the mode full screen the video becomes a bit larger, but does not fill the edges of the screen. In other players such as InterWinDVD player or video Media Player Classic DVD of the CCCP play full screen completely to the edges of the screen (except for two black borders on the top and bottom do wide screen of culture).

However in WMP 11 200% is not big enough. I was wondering if it is possible to get the video to play 300 or 400% in size?

    Here's what I mean:
    http://img44.imageshack.us/i/wmp11problems.jpg/

Notice how the video area (Pink) is not stretched to fit the vertical edges of the screen.

I really like WMP 11 due to SRS wow effects. Unfortunately, since the upgrade to a monitor flat screen with a resolution of 1600 x 900 WMP 11 the fact that the culture of the video. Other players I use InterWin DVD or the Media Player Classic CCCP do that mean the culture of the video. I am running Windows XP with SP3.

    Hey Helldiver.

Check if you have the plug-ins installed to support the features of DVDs on your Media Player. Windows Media Player is a complete DVD player when combined with a DVD decoder (MPEG-2 decoder) with features such as full-screen video playback controls, ads chapter DVD and integrated pouch.

If you are running Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate, DVD capabilities are included as part of the operating system. If you are running Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista business, or Windows Vista Enterprise, you can enhance your DVD playback experience by purchasing a pack of decoder DVD or upgrade to a more powerful version of Windows Vista.

Here is a link to the list of plugins that you can install to get the features of full fledge for you DVD:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx

Try to install these plug-ins and see if you can get the service your DVD playback fullscreen

  • Adding second drive of DVD to H8-1234.

The H8-1234 has an open slot and a power connector of alternatives for adding a second DVD player.  However, the existing SATA cable has only one connector. HP offers a cable two connector? Can I use a SATA cable two connectors "generic"?  Finally, the H8-1234 will work with a second DVD disc?  Thank you.

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion HPE h8-1234. According to specifications, your system has six (6) SATA connectors on the motherboard. Unlike the IDE/PATA, SATA supports only one device per cable. Install another CD/DVD/BluRay drive will require you to buy another SATA data cable to make it work. And YES, the computer will function normally with a second optical drive installed.

  • The player display DVD Toshiba C855D satellite ceased suddenly display

Please help as its now beyond me. The DVD player has suddenly just stopped. I can hear it and control it but can't see it. I checked the button display but its all ok.

    Help

Sorry, but your applicant is very confusing
I have no idea what you changed in the settings of the DVD from Toshiba player in the past, but I think the simplest solution would be the new installation of a utility DVD Toshiba drive.

Usually you can download page of the Toshiba UE driver Toshiba DVD player
Before installing this software, I recommend to uninstall the installed Toshiba DVD player.
    Reboot the laptop.
Download the tool on the Toshiba site and start the installation.
Finally, restart the laptop and test functionality.

  • Qosmio F60 - BD DVD Player read DVD only if the theme is one of the aero themes

I found that DVD Toshiba BD player will play only DVD if the windows theme is one of the aero themes.

Personally I do not use aero.

Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

I can play the DVD using other software.
The main attraction of using the Toshiba Software is it is the function of upconversion.

    Thank you.

    Hello hicham.

This means that you use the DVD from Toshiba drive, but you can t without Aero theme Blu - ray game discs?

In this case, I would recommend the DVD Player update. Just check for an update from Toshiba Web site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

Have you tested other players? Toshiba DVD player in my opinion is not important. I use VLC media player because he can play audio and video files more! :)

  • Re: Satellite A100-207 player of DVD-ROM must be replaced

My DVD - ROM drive has stopped reading / recognition of the disks. It is not a case of needing a disc cleaner so I think it plays up and needs to be replaced. Someone has any advice / manuals etc. to know how to get chase him and the perils of trying such a replacement?

I would appreciate all the advice really.

    Thank you.

I tried once in my previous laptop, it is not as easy as a desktop PC, because readers of the laptop are not exactly standard.

The façade of the new player was not properly aligned, and I could not transfer the front plate of the defective drive because the buttons and the clips are different.
More it would work even without the façade, the laptop simply failed to detect.

I think it was a firmware issue.

So if you want a replacement, the best option would be to go to a Toshiba Service Center and replace the disk with a real. You may even be able to upgrade to a DVD-R/W drive.

Are but before you replace the disk, you sure this isn't a software problem? It boot from the bootable CD?
It may just be the upper/lower filters in the registry.

  • Satellite A60-302: CD Player read DVDs and CDs but not burned discs

I have a Toshiba laptop: Satellite A60-302 and I have a problem with the cd player. It can read DVDs and records I buy but it will not read burned discs (even the ones I burned with the portable computers own burner). Only from time to time, he will read a burned disc.
I tried to clean the eye of laser of cd players, but it did not help.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

    Hello

This sounds like the CD burner doesn't burn CD correctly.
You suggested that you used different types of CD.
In the user manual, you will find a list of compatible media.
These media has been tested and it works correctly.

But if this happens with all CD, so possibly the drive cannot work properly and only a replacement would solve that problem.

  • The best Windows media player 11 dvd decoder?

I had deleted my computer and re-intalled my xp home operating system.  (with sp3)  I have installed wmp11.  I now need a dvd decoder and opionions sought on one that suits.  I've never played DVD on this computer.  I've seen adds for roxio cineplayer, advanced corel which is the cheapest and set-top box to dvdse cyberlink power, but know nothing about them.  All others?

I want to make sure that the "improvements" working properly.  (frame advance, video settings bright aka, cont, ect..)

Also the ability to remove the nav bar for mode full-screen. (zoom would be as well)

I ask because my brother compuer pro with wmp11 xp allow the video settings or zoom to work.

I don't know what decoder he bought and he does not remember, so I don't know what to avoid.

I'll def Standard comercial and burned dvd as well as avi and wmv.

    Thank you, Mark.

PS please don't tell me not to use VLC.  There is no frame advance.  And is 'not' compatible 'screen Hunter' which I use for making screenshots in 1280 x 1024, which VLC can even begin to do.   (Yes screenhunter makes caps what is the resolution of your computer)

Do not use the lib2mpeg codec in ffdshow for DVDs. Use Cyberlink.

  • I wonder if anyone is familiar with this type of problem with the help of a Windows Media Player for DVD videos.

    Hello!
I came across a problem with my dvd on my laptop drive. The program that I use on my laptop is Media player from Windows. And the laptop will recognize the DVD and everything, but when it starts to play, it gives me this message from Windows Media Player: "Windows Media Player cannot play video DVDs. You may need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try to lower your screen resolution and color quality settings. »

Now I always use the old Windows XP for my laptop, but I can't seem to understand how to adjust the color quality and lower my screen resolution. Does anyone have a little step by step process that I could follow to do this?

The problem is that Windows XP does not play DVD movies in native mode. You can
have a DVD player, but it can only read DATA DVD at this time. In the order
install a DVD codec to read video DVD discs. First we will
Install this program from Microsoft and run it, and if you have a DVD
Codec, it will appear in the display window. Download this program from
    here:

    http://www.softwarepatch.com/Windows/windowsdvdmpeg.html

If it shows that you don't have a codec DVD installed, then you can
buy one on one of the links on this page:
