  I need to install a new server connection view because we have improved the vCenter Server 5.5, the view do not allow migration to a new server vCenter Server.

  So my plan is to "unplug" all work stations of the old server connection view (if necessary) and add them to the new connection to the server view.

  We use computers to desktop to Server 2008 R2, but if I try to add to the inventory view tells me "VM with guest operating system not supported.

  How can I add them to the pool / inventory?

  In the admin UI:

  Display Configuration-> global settings-> General-> desktop computers activate Windows Server 2008 R2.

  I tested VMware view in a lab and got stuck on the addition of a pool of offices.  I have followed the guide "Getting started with VMware View" and encountered no errors up to this point.  I have a Windows XP VM and cloned it to a model.  I'm on the "Parent VM" section in the "Add Desktop" Wizard, but I don't seem to have an option to choose.  It displays my data center, but it is grayed out, so there is nothing to select.  I also noticed a note in the Parent virtual machine window saying that all VM at least one software component plug-in is filtered from the list.  I went back to the VC server and created a wink, but I don't see an option in the window.  Am I missing a step somewhere?

  On the assumption that youv'e ' e ' ipconfig/release', turning the machine off and then taken the snapshot--master

  If it is just a superstition of the mine, if you have tried everything else, try turning it back on the basic machine (master), after creating the snapshot.

• get the number of desktops from a pool

  Hi all

  I search through the internet for some time but could not find any useful information for my script.

  I'm trying to get the number of view desktop computers already in use in a swimming pool and computers Office Max County.

  My script should analyze these two and send me an email when the normal County reached the maximum.

  As we are still in the construction of the environment of the view, new users are added to the RFA constantly for pools are fill up quickly.

  Also we don't want huge pools so a fixed limit is necessary and must be verified.

  I thought with a script it would be the best method, can someone help me here?

  By pool, it will show you how many workstations are used.

• View pools recompose problems with applications and printing

  Hello gang!

  This will be my first post with you guys.  I have an embarrassing Horizons view with pool environment.  I created this basin as linked clones with workstations dedicated so that users could install this software, they may need.  Now I was in a delicate situation.  I need to recompose the workstations to update their view 5.3 and with the Windows updates and other such items.  Problem is I tried a test on a desktop and it blew the customized software they installed AND their printers.  So I have a few questions...

  What would be the best way to recompose these desktop computers so that in the future if I need to rebuild, I won't send the team to reinstall 862864901 printers (dummy number) and apps?

  Should I look to pass to Thinapps and Thinprint?  I have not dug in one of these areas, so I have no experience with them yet.  If there is documentaion, guides or videos autour, I'd be happy to hide.

  The ThinPrint which is installed with the Agent of the view is not the product full of ThinPrint.  It is just a subset of the features of the full product that VMware under license of Coronado.

  Unfortunately, there is not much documentation on the use of ThinPrint.  If you use PCoIP, he basically just turns and draws local printers in the office.  This has limitations - users may lose access to a large number of features on the more feature-rich TFP.  It's one of the compromises of using a universal printing solution.

  What types of printers are your users print to?  Are they in network printer?  Are users inside your corporate firewall?  If so, you might want to consider deploying printers through the group policy preferences.  I used this in the past instead of ThinPrint because my users used a number of advanced features on our MFP that have not been exposed through the driver of ThinPrint.

• View pool stuck to remove

  We have a pool of VMware stuck in the phase of suppression, and it generates a lot of errors in the event log.  I followed this KB article http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1008658 and the query is not displayed results associated with this pool.  We run VMware View 5.0.0.  There is no virtual machines associated with this pool in vSphere, he comes to be stubborn and will not erase.

  Any ideas here?

  I followed the KB linked above to connect to the DB ADAM and went to the table of roles of server and manually deleted my stuck pool.  Worked!

• My Vmware View automatically starts my VM. Strategy of remote desktop in View Manager does not

  In the configuration of the pool settings tab, there are an option for the number of spare parts (workstations powered).   Reduce this number if you want to deposit it number of workstations are always turned on.

• VLANS, assigning to VMware view pool

  We have a large network with division into departments. Each Department corresponds to a single vlan with individual restrictions.

  You can assign the VLAN on a per master so a level of snapshot and multiple snapshots pointing to different VLAN. • Help! ... TP Autoconnect Service on all my desktops to view missing

  Hi all

  I write this, I am awaiting with VMware technical support waiting for a tech to pick up the phone. Last week everything was peachy, I walk into work today and hear through the vine that there is some problems printing through the view. I get a call from one of our sales directly which in the past has been my Tester in the field to see complaining of the same problem. I hop on his laptop, then on the virtual desktop and start digging through the services because usually it's just a case of restarting the service. Now, I only did this for awhile for anyway, but on the first point of view of services.msc, I noticed only one service the "Gateway" service In any case I have to do to start my main image and look for and Yes its there.

  If the Autoconnect TP service is missing and I don't know how it happened. Anyone had this same problem?

  Help, please.

  I tested on my models that has been upgraded to 4.5 view agent.  After only an upgrade of the tools with the agent installed 4.0 the service would disappear.  Once I upgraded to 4.5 agent service had recurred.  Have you tried reinstalling your agent to see if the tools of return?

• Viewing and buying Desktop / Web Viewer Question.

  I understand that if you share your free content via your iOS app it can be viewed in a browser (with a few features missing like hitting swiping images.)

  My question is this...

  I have a business account... A person buy the magazine and finds the whole magazine through a desktop computer with the DPS Web Viewer? Or its just limited to free content on your web browser, but they must have an iPad to view all mag?  They get full access to the desktop so they buy.

  For a professional customer, can be considered as free content that was shared on the web viewer/office. For customers of the company, content restricted access are accessible via the right using the SDK Web content viewer

• Persistent desktops to a pool?

  I would create a pool of desktops, 75 total.  However, I would like each user to obtain the same office every time they connect.  So, if my machines have been set up in XP - 001, 002 - XP... XP-075.  I would that user X always get XP - 043 for his office.  I want to do for the helpdesk, because they serve to have a user to use the same office.  I know that I can do this with manual work stations, but these workstations cannot used linked clones and therefore burn a lot of storage space.

  Yes, that's correct.  This means that once a user connects to a computer, they will receive this machine and it will use from this time.  If you have a need to manage these relationships, you can use the command vdmadmin to the broker for connections.

• Adding a materialized view field

  I can see materialized, called DEVICE which gets its data from a table called device in a different database (asset3). A new field was added to the devices table in the asset3 database. Should I like to add this field to the materialized view, drop materialized view, and re-create or can I run an alter command to add the field?

  As long as the script is running as a local administrator on a login server user, you should be able to bind to the server and run the queries needed to get the information.

  The areas that you want to consider are:

  OU = servers<-This contains="" a="" reference="" for="" each="" virtual="">

  Groups of servers OU<-This contains="" a="" reference="" for="" each="">

  Under each office object, you want to search for the status attribute, and the attribute of maintenance mode for more information.

  The best way to become familiar with what you are looking for is to connect to ADAM using ADSIedit and search the areas mentioned above. This way you can see which object you are looking at using the attribute DisplayName-pae and compare the State as it is with what is displayed in the attributes for this object.

• Video function works only on Desktop Content Viewer

  My client has just informed me that their current number of dps (built in v25) plays videos on the Office content viewer (works fine on iPad). It wasn't a problem with our last issue. Curiously, autoplay videos work very well. It's just the manual reading on the videos feature that doesn't seem to work. Is this a known issue? Thank you

  It seems that the upper part of the video is not aligned with the top of the second page. This causes a rendering problem. So it can be processed, we will file a bug on this issue. To work around the problem in the meantime, make sure that the upper part of the video overlay in the source movie begins vertically 769 pixel or more. It is a workaround, but at least it should fix the problem for now. I have a few follow-up questions if you want to send me an email to mcgreen_at_adobe.com.

• Creating views portals based on Pools of resources

  Hi all

  I'm trying to create portals customized for each of our clients. We have customers grouped into resource pools. What I'm trying to accomplish is to add all the systems within a resource group in the portal display. If I drag on the resource pool, it displays the metric only for the pool of resources in a holistic manner. I want that all the systems within the list of resources to display and show the memory, CPU, and other measures that I specify, individually, without having to add each machine individually. I don't want to have to add each machine individually, because there are hundreds. But in addition to this, I want to be certain that if new guests are added to these resource pools in the future that they are automatically added to the portal for visibility as well.

  It seems that I did once already, but I can't understand how I did it. Points of view. data, feature etc. for the portal view are almost overwhelming amount of data that are available to monitor and customize. And it is easy to forget.

  You can get a view of 'Service' to all your virtual machines by using the Services or Service generator. Create a service, you can add virtual machines to the new service using the rules when you add components.
