Help! ... TP Autoconnect Service on all my desktops to view missing

Hi all

I write this, I am awaiting with VMware technical support waiting for a tech to pick up the phone. Last week everything was peachy, I walk into work today and hear through the vine that there is some problems printing through the view. I get a call from one of our sales directly which in the past has been my Tester in the field to see complaining of the same problem. I hop on his laptop, then on the virtual desktop and start digging through the services because usually it's just a case of restarting the service. Now, I only did this for awhile for anyway, but on the first point of view of services.msc, I noticed only one service the "Gateway" service In any case I have to do to start my main image and look for and Yes its there.

If the Autoconnect TP service is missing and I don't know how it happened. Anyone had this same problem?

Help, please.

I tested on my models that has been upgraded to 4.5 view agent.  After only an upgrade of the tools with the agent installed 4.0 the service would disappear.  Once I upgraded to 4.5 agent service had recurred.  Have you tried reinstalling your agent to see if the tools of return?

  • All my desktop files and library are missing in Windows 7

Need help, I have a windows 7 Ultimate OS on an old Dell XPS of 3 years. Operating system implemented at level of Windows Vista home for more than a year. Last week, when I connected, I noticed that all my desktop files were missing. Library of the missing files (including photos, videos, music & docs). Whats funny is that none of the files are missing. However, all possible files in each folder are missing. There is no way that I could have them was deleted by mistake, can not think of a keyboard shortcut to clear all the files, but leave the files. I run avast antivirus, set to day & works perfectly well. No application installs & the only windows update I see around this event was for MS silverlight.

I backed up all possible files using a recovery agent & the thought of doing a clean reinstall of the operating system. PS - My research on the net has returned no results for this problem. Looking for all entries before going to come & clean clean my system. THX in advance

    * original title - need help with Windows 7, all the missing files *.

Here are the steps I recommend:

    1. Open the computer and open your folder C:\Users.
    2. Right-click on the folder of your user name and select Properties.  Unset as hidden, and then click OK.

You will be asked what you want to apply the changes.  Choose JUST THE FOLDER.  Although it seems appropriate, are not select subfolders, because some things down there, including the appdata folders and as such, must be hidden.

    3. Then go inside your userfolder and select all your folders accessible by the typical user (downloads, Documents, photos, video, etc.) and disabled the option down on those.  This time, pouvez you use the option 'apply to all subfolders and files '.
That will get you squared away back.

If system restore is turned on and you can go back enough, restore the computer to an earlier date using Safe Mode.

Restart the computer and start typing the key F8, select Safe mode with command option. If you are prompted to select an operating system, use the arrow keys to select the right pair and press ENTER. Log in as administrator or with an account that has administrator credentials. At the command prompt, type % systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then press ENTER. Follow the prompts to restore your computer to an earlier date.

  • Help and Support service does not

    Original title: Windows XP Services
I would like to first of all a service that is running, but when I try to open system information, I get a message that the help and Support service is not running.  How can I start the help and Support service if I can't in the system services?

Help and Support doesn't have to be set to automatic for her to work.  You can leave the Manual value and it will start when it needs start (if he can).

You will see only the message you describe if the H & S Service is disabled if your H & S subsystem is afflicted in some way.  If the H & S Service is not disabled, you have a different problem.

You don't describe symptoms suggestive of a need to run sfc/scannow or symptoms suggestive of a need to register the hhctrl.ocx file, but at least he has a link to a Microsoft KB article in this answer MSE.

You can unregister the file hhctrl.ocx and H & S will always launch very well (but the Index button will not work).

These ideas don't make sense to me.

Do try these things and see how they work.

    Hello Kenneth Pincus,

You can create a new profile on the computer and if the desktop icons stay on their position. If this is not the case, the other profile is corrupt. To create a new user profile, you can see the article mentioned below for the procedure.

  • Help and support service in services.msc

When I try and open help and Support under XP, I get an error telling me that I need to start the help and Support service. When I go into services.msc to do this, the help and Support service is not listed

A service help and Support missing does not fit the symptoms of a corrupt user profile.  Aid and the Support Service is at the system level and does not belong to a particular user, and if you think that your user profile is damaged, you better not delete unless you want to lose all the things belonging to the user that you delete.   This isn't a good way to manage a corrupted user profile or suspicious - unless you want that users angry!
Have you ever used third-party applications on your system where the product description includes descriptive as sentences:
cleaner, mechanic, detective, priest, optimize, clean up, tune up, speed up, set towards the top, compact, compress, faster, power, boost booster, guaranteed.
The Center help and Support sometimes get broken with overzealous cleaning and there are a lot of things to 'try' who sometimes work and sometimes they are not. Sometimes people drop everything simply and never reuse Help and Support Center, but it can still be repaired.
We can reinstall the missing help and Service support in two ways, let's start with the less complicated:
Using Windows Explorer, find and locate c:\windows\inf\pchealth.inf.  This is the file for installation help and Support information.
Right-click on the pchealth.inf file and choose install.
You may be prompted to enter your XP installation CD as he seeks the installation files.  The files are on your XP installation CD, or, if you don't have any XP installation CD, files will already be on your system from the initial installation (if help and Support was working before) - you just tell the installation where to get them.
You can locate the files on your system before you begin the installation, so that you know where to say look when he needs a file of installation.
If you don't have an XP installation CD, change the dialog ' copy the file of ' (by clicking the browse and try again) to point to the folder appropriate for each file.  Usually, the files in these folders.
    dataspec. XML (c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386)
    pchdt_w3.cab (c:\windows\pchealth\helpctr\binaries)
    HCAppRes.dll (c:\windows\pchealth\helpctr\binaries)
    atrace.dll (c:\windows\system32)
If these files are not in the same place on your system, you need to do a search for Windows on your system for the file you need and point the installation in the folder appropriate for your system.
Reboot your system to make sure that the installation is complete and check in Services now to see the status of the assistance Service.
If the service help and Support does not work, right click, start it and then make sure that the properties are set to auto, reboot again and remember that it starts on its own.
If for some reason that gets your help and your support Service installed (perhaps you do not find the files) you can follow the other instructions of Riou:

Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

my desktop icons have disappeared from my desktop and start menu, that I can't right click at all, I have no idea of what happens if someone could please help me that would be great

    Hi Rehman,

    ·         Did you change to the computer?

    ·         What is the antivirus installed on the computer program?

    ·         The start menu is empty?

    ·         Other user accounts have the same problem?

Check to see if the following is useful.

Method 1: You can run the Microsoft Safety Scanner to check the infection by the virus. Check out the following link to do so.

Microsoft Safety Scanner - free online tool for PC health and safety

Method 2: Check to see if this article helps you to the question of the desktop icons.

Your desktop icons are missing in Windows XP

Method 3: Log on to another user account and check for the issue. If you do not have another user account and then create a and look for the same thing.

  • Whenever I have turn off my monitor, and then turn it back on, all my desktop icons are completely reorganized.

This issue just started.  Whenever I have turn off my monitor and then turn it back on, all my desktop icons are completely reorganized.  This happens when my system goes into power saving mode, or whenever I have turn off the monitor.  Even if I turn it back on just 5 seconds later, all of my icons are not where they were previously.  Help!

    Suggestions:

    1 a simple way:
. Right click on desktop > view > uncheck Auto arrange > check snap to grid.

    2. in a more elaborate way and actually a better way. I use this method I have over 150 shortcuts etc on my desk. I can't afford to have shortcuts/icons, rearranging themselves. I won't be able to find anything, if they do.
    Here is the tutorial:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/save-and-restore-desktop-icon-layout-in-Windows-Vista/

Note: The method is not perfect, you can, after a while, have one or 2 icons on the spot. But it's easy to fix.

  • all my desktop icons were gone I have not all documents, photos etc frpm a user account

    User accounts

I have 3 user accounts on my welcome screen which is admin. normally, I click on my own account. When I made the other day all my desktop icons went I have all the documents, pictures, etc. I though I had lost them up to what I went to c/users/selected my user account and everything is there. I seems the account that I click the home screen is not a link to my account?

    Please can someone help?

I tried to restore to an earlier date that did not work.

When you create a new user, the directory will not present until you connect for the first time this new user.  The fast way so disconnect and connect under the newly created user.  After that, the folder would be present.

The way alternative copy of the files on an external drive and copy then back also works, but there are also that you connect as long as this new user to do this.

The top of the default user folder account Security page is [heart] to this user and administrators only (that's why the lock symbol).  You should be able to bypass this security, if you are signed in with an account that has administrator privileges.  Otherwise, you will need to log on as the owner of this folder, right-click on the folder-> Security (tab) and change the security to allow access by other users.

  • All my desktop icons open under 1 program. How to return to the original way can be opened as part of their own program?

Long story short, all my desktop icons and pretty much everything else opens under the same program.

I deleted the program that went all other programs and now all the desktop icons are left white and they don't know where to go.

I saw several responses to this before, but none of them were really clear. How can I get my programs to open to their original programs?

Could someone please provide a detailed response, I'm pretty new to this. Thank you.

    Hello

It's like as if all your slots target for your shortcut got a little messed up. Here is a list of the simple troubleshooting steps that I suggest.

    • When this problem started to happen
    • Have you made a change to your system, such as installing the software before that happens?
    • Have you tried to delete the shortcut icons and create new ones on the oldest?
    • Have you tried to change the target location manually? -To do so, right click on any shortcut icon of the present Office on your computer, locate your target and see if it takes you directly to your location of program if not, go to your local disk, program files and scroll to the program that you want as a shortcut on your desktop. Then go on the address tab and click once. Copy and paste the address into the location your shortcut properties target.

    Hope this helps,

    Kind regards

    Andrew
