Adding text boxes

I am a student leanring action script and my mission is to make one application that calculates something. Then...

I have 9 text entry boxes that should all add up in a dynamic text box. Code below...

Work number: var = parseInt (work_txt.text);

var rnr:Number = parseInt (rnr_txt.text);

var exerciseB:Number = parseInt (exerciseB_txt.text);

var exerciseM:Number = parseInt (exerciseM_txt.text);

var campTent:Number = parseInt (campTent_txt.text);

var campRv:Number = parseInt (campRv_txt.text);

var food: Number = parseInt (food_txt.text);

var twt:Number = parseInt (twt_txt.text);

partying var: number = parseInt (partying_txt.text);

var total400:Number = work, rnr + exerciseB + exerciseM +.

campTent + campRv + food + twt + make partying;

stage.addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, checkTotal) <-I used a framework of entry the wil of dynamic text box updated as long as the user types numbers in.

function checkTotal(e:Event) {}

If (work_txt. Text == "") { <-this is to put a 0 in the text boxes, so the app calulates 0 instead of nothing, he saw go out like NaN. }

work = 0;

}

{if (rnr_txt. (Text=="")}

RNR = 0;

}

{if (exerciseB_txt. (Text=="")}

exerciseB = 0;

}

{if (exerciseM_txt. (Text=="")}

exerciseM = 0;

}

{if (campTent_txt. (Text=="")}

campTent = 0;

}

{if (campRv_txt. (Text=="")}

campRv = 0;

}

{if (food_txt. (Text=="")}

food = 0;

}

{if (twt_txt. (Text=="")}

TWT = 0;

}

{if (partying_txt. (Text=="")}

partying = 0;

}

total400_txt. Text = String (total400);             <-total400_txt is my dynamic text box that corresponds to the total, the other boxes are all the values the user types in.

}

Thank you in advance for help you! See you soon!

They do not put a 0 in the textfield because you tell them.  You simply assign a 0 to the variable, but the variable is not be assigned to the TextField.

You must ensure that you treat all textfields and variables before making the total.  If you change a value in one of the textfields then you first need to determine if the textfield should be attributed a zero, then assign the value of the textfield to the variable, then the total.

You probably want to restrict the textfields to allow only numeric values to enter.

  • the pages for iOS - how to resize a text box and forms manually

    I added text boxes to my sheet. However, I can't get close to the size I want, which is not noticeable to someone else, but I wish they were accurate.

    example: I want to 1inchx4inch. but now the box and adjusting the size I can get 1.02x3.98. 99x4.01, etc.

    I know it still looks the same as the sizes are extremely close, but if there was a way t adjust by entering the desired size that I would rather do.

    Thank you

    Hi aswad,.

    If it is a file that you edit on your Mac you can certainly do here in the Inspector.

    If you are only in iOS with this you can try zooming in - you can have more control over it.

  • I can create a text box so that it grows with the amount of text entered into it?  I don't see how a defined size.

    I have a form and am adding text boxes.  I want them to be able to grow with the amount of text entered by the user.  It is essentially to 'comments' on a form.  Most of the text boxes may only need a few words, and some may be 2 paragraphs.  It seems that I have to create a text box and give it a static size.  Is that what I am missing how?

    Thank you!

    Michelle

    I can still see the 'Auto' as font size.

    If you want dynamic fields, then you must use LiveCycle or be prepared to do a lot of redesign of the form and coding.

  • cant' print text boxes

    I added text boxes by using the function of "Fill & Sign" but now when I print the text boxes aren't there.  Even though I changed the border and text in one of the Red to black, that he doesn't always have to print.  I would be grateful all experience that someone had to do this work.  Thank you.

    Hi angiechurch,

    Please select the Document and margins to the title of the comments and forms in the print dialog box. It is just above the Preview Panel.

    Let us know if this solves your problem.

  • How to change the text box in Acrobat XI, created by earlier versions of Acrobat

    Hi, I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to change a text box that was created in an older version of Acrobat and used to fill in a form.

    In my case, I added text boxes on text pre-existing using an earlier version of Acrobat.

    When I try to click on the text box, however, it seems to be back on the existing text and not allow me to change the text box I created in the past.

    Try changing the text with the tool 'Add comment text' which is in the notes pane. The text used to complete the form may have been written as annotation, so when you try to change those with editing tools, the original text is being edited.

  • Adding images to a scrolling text box?

    I want to create a page to scroll on my Flash site to include texts, pictures, movies, maybe even. I see how to add a scroll bar but how to incorporate images into that? It uses a text box.

    You can use htmltext in the text box to embed images using the html image tag. Here is a link to html code available that you can use inside the Flash: TextField - QAnywhere® to Adobe ActionScript 3 (AS3)

    Yes, it's a limited set of tags.

  • Adding text or text box

    I use Acrobat X Pro.  I have a collection of some 30 pdf files that I need to mark as evidence in legal proceedings.  I need on the occasion of the first page of each (or all pages) with a text like "CaseName/room AA - 001," CaseName/room AA-002"and so on." I have some flexibility with the text and formatting.  What can recommend you as the best way to do this?  I'm looking for something a little better than just using the typewriter tool.  I remember well, sometimes using the headers and footers in earlier versions, but I can't find how to do in this version.  I want that some level of consistency and a professional look reasonably.  I've created PDFs.  They are all copies of letters, memos and other paper documents (scanned by others, a long time ago) for the 1950s, 60 and the lilke so I can't go back and review.  All looking for answers (a futile task, I must say) I've seen references to text boxes and videos that are no longer available.  I played a bit with a text box, but was able to change the font color from red to something else, like black.  In other words, I went through the motions of chaning the color line and the police (if I remember), but the police remains red.  Red is not acceptable, especially when all the available of thke printers and the documents themselves are in black and white only.  I'd appreciate any help!

  • How can I stop the Captivate adding in text boxes / tone clear when I film a project?

    Morning/afternoon

    Whenever I have a new Captivate 4 adds project always in the additional text boxes with 'Click on OK button' and 'Opens a window setting' and also adds in the film's point culminating own boxes.  How to disable this option?  It's not so much of a problem that I have to go in and edit each screen anyway, but I was wondering if there was a way to stop appearing in the first place.

    Thank you very much for your help,

    Michelle

    Hello

    This by changing recording preferences.

    Click on Edit > Preferences > recording > Modes and choose one of the modes. Demonstration seems a likely choice.

    Select or clear the options you want.

    Click on the image below to see full size.

  • How can I keep text level if I change the angle of the text box?

    I am creating a flyer and added a text box that I've then inclined to match with an associated picture. Unfortunately, the text turns in bulk, which is a pain. the clues how to keep this level when shot?

    Text in a text box will remain at level with the horizontal axis of the rotated text box and it does not work independendly of the box containing the text. Bulk is an insufficient compound word which does nothing to show us what you don't like in the rotation of text current, and that precisely the hope of a result.

  • With scroll multi line text box

    Hello

    I need to set up a text box multi online where new channels are added and the box scrolls.  I found a previous post with a good example. However, in the example, there is a while loop using shift registers to concatenate the strings and so to add the new channel.  In my situation, I have a case statement and the new string is added to the base on an independent State.

    How to concatenate the new string with what is already in the text box?  The text box is an indicator, there is no way out for me a loop in a concantator. Is attached a picture to help describe what I'm trying to do.

    I apologize if this is a stupid question, I am very new to LabView.

    I'm using LabView 8.2

    Thank you.

    You can use a node of feedback in the middle where is your cut wire.

    You can use a shift register as well on your while loop (not shown) outside.  Simply thread through the case of false and perform the concatenation in the case of true.

  • Deletion of added text

    I opened the paint when you view a picture and added text to the image.  Then, I saved the image.  Now, I want to remove the text.  I can't click on the text box to remove the text.  Someone at - he found a way to remove the text in the paint?

    This is because once the file is saved the text in the area is part of the image, it is only a layer separated during the editing session.

    Painting is a relative simple image editing tool, save the editing as separate not process or don't create undo functions that survive to the record. Once you do this generate you a complete picture and revised to replace the original, unless you use the function Save as and save it under a different file name.

  • text box keyboard glitches

    Hello, I found a bug in my app that appears intermittently, and I hope that someone here could recognize and know the cause.

    I wrote an app of cordova webworks for use on blackberry devices, which for the most part just displays data that she pulls down from a server. On one screen, we also want to add notes to a record, and so there is a text box. Most of the time I compile the application, it is very good and you can change the text on the phone via the black keyboard that opens at the bottom of the screen.

    But sometimes when typing on the keyboard it sparkles at random, as he goes somewhere in another bit of the screen and back. Letters I pressed on certainly haven't added to the text box, while others do it, you get to the ends of sentences. Sometimes the textbox gets erased completely.

    I can confirm the keyboard works fine in other applications, there is no damage screen or FAT or whatever it is by physically preventing a key event being recognized.

    Used phones are z3, blackberry Leap and z30, 10.3.1.1779 operating system

    The html for the textbox control markup is:

    There is no keyboard special plugins installed for the application, it uses just what I presume is the keyboard of the default operating system.

    In the end, I used webworks to create a new project, copied in the folder www of the broken project and readded all the plugins. This solved the problem, so it is possible that a file has been corrupted somewhere in the folder of platforms. I also had a problem with the identity plugin afew of the time where I could not read the device pin code, reinstall the plugins solved this.

    That seems to happen to my projects intermittently, once every two weeks or months when you use webworks front end. So I'll go back to the use of the command line.

  • Avoid resizing the text box.

    Hi all

    I have a field / column as a text box, but I want to be read-only, and to avoid the area of text to be resized.

    I managed to set read-only, but the functionality of resizing in the corner at the bottom right is still active.

    Even if I put the resizable as not in the column Settings.It still does not work.

    I use APEX version 4.2.5.

    Could someone please help to solve the problem?

    It is likely to be a feature of the browser you are using (this is why it is so important that you always provide all the details of your environment when you ask a question, in the order that bugs, features, and oddities of the components can be identified quickly and unambiguously).

    The effect of setting the Resizable property should delete out of a style="resize: both;" attribute on the textarea element, resulting in the rendered control browser using its default settings. However, the defaults may vary for different browsers (currently), and in some cases, the default value of the browser is to allow resizing.

    A simple way to ensure that the control is not resizable is adding explicitly a style="resize: none;" attribute on the textarea element by using the property of the HTML Form element attributes .
