  Is there a 'best' way to adjust the lighting conditions in a video clip?  I have a clip with terrible lighting conditions and can not remove the scenario.

  While I don't expect a perfect solution, I hope that there are approaches better than those I serve.  If the recommendations include third-party plugins, I would appreciate hearing about them, as well.

  I have been using the corrector, gamma and luminance correction filters.  Adjustments of corrector gamma in higher values, but seems to only work by discrete steps.  So, if the gamma should be entered upwards or downwards in a clip, there is a very visible and sometimes jarring visual effect.  The luma corrector seems to only be able to increase the brightness level (thanks to a combination of all the variables of 5 or 6, including brightness, gain, gamma, etc.) before the clip appears washed out.

  You could then enter the 3 - Way Color Correction.

• Please correct the function map for photo albums in Photos

  Dear Apple people - difficulty please please the function map for photos in photo books. I loved the features of cards in iPhoto, so why go to all the trouble of screwing up so royally in Photos v1.5? A few examples at random: instead of being able to type a place name and have the program to find the place for you, must now click on the + sign, then a red dot appears in a place at random (as in the middle of the Tasman Sea), and we can then move the red dot at the location you want (after first checking a different map to determine the correct location of the place you mean - Port Douglas Australia for example). A colossal waste of time. Or how about this: it takes an hour to put the plan in place so, then closes the program. At the next opening it, found the red dots have all migrated to odd locations around the map, bearing no resemblance to where they were placed at the origin. Once again, a huge waste of time. And it's only two of many examples.

  Please, I beg you, bring back the features of cards in iPhoto!

  I just upgraded to Photoshop elements 3 to Photoshop Elements 10 and I find the measure in which "brightness/contrast" in the light "adjust".

  menu can change an original image is radically different in its effect on the degree of whiteness, I can get.   The same setting the parameters, such as a 44 for brightness and a 55 for contrast a white background means radically more dark with 10 with 3 given the same starting point.  Start-up; point is an image of a line drawing on a pure white drawing paper.   The image is taken with a Nikon D200 camera and background tends to be blue version of the original drawing paper.   With 3, the above settings will make the bluish color pure white as seen with the naked eye.  With 10, the same settings to restore the lighter but still clearly darker than white to bluish color.   Settings high using 10, such as 80 brightness and contrast 90, do not get the pure white effect as with 3.   If, with 10, I go over 80/90, non-white of the drawing color is washed out so that they are unacceptable.

  QUESTION: Anyone knows the difference between the 3 elements and Elements 10?    If so, what can be done to return to the brightness/contrast of 3 elements controls?

  Thanks much for the reply.  I don't have the "Use legacy" option with my version of PS 10, but I found a solution for my particular use case.   I can use the adjust color Color/replace to get my white background.   Here are the steps I take...

  1. open the tool replace color via the color setting menu.

  2. click on the pipette as pointer on one of the darkest areas of my background image that is supposed to be white.

  3. move he "dyed" to the left for a hue = - 180

  4. move the "saturation" slider to the left to a saturation = - 100

  5. move the "lightness" slider to the right for a lighteness = + 100

  6. click on OK

  My bluish background turn white to the naked eye and my line drawings and fill in colors remain true.   Seems to work pretty well.

  Using iMovie 10.1.1 I can't adjust the sound down to a clip. I used to be able to define markers on the soundtrack, and between the markers I could drag the volume bar upwards or downwards. Is he past?

  Click on the main content window until you see "Container" to the "selection indicator. You should also see resize handles around the container. Just use the handles to resize the container as you would anything else.

• Adjust the auto-attack for all paragraphs

  Hi-

  I want to increase my auto ranging from 115 to 125% for all "normal" paragraphs in my document.

  I know that I usually have to apply the paragraph style for those I want changed, but this document has hundreds of points, I can't do it manually.

  I read in another post that the trick is to change the standard paragraph style and then have it as a point of departure for those I want to change.

  I did, but it does not affect anything other than paragraphs that apply styles to manually.

  Auto leader amaount is defined in paragraph style definition in the Justification section. If you have changed manually for some paragraphs is probably now a local replacement option that needs to be removed. You should be able to do it using find/replace and search for the paragraph style, then replace with the same style. That should remove ALL the substitutions, so if you have any other, they will be lost.

  I'm about to invest new 24' monitor but still can't decide what monitor should I expect. Can anyone recommend that won't break the Bank? I am a freelance photographer and most of my work more portrait and wedding and I only do it for part time. Here is my list of shooting

  I guess that the OP refers to the use of range wide screen with LR, if relevant.

  If you print to a printer range inkjet (6 or more inks) that from a wide range will be useful. It will not provide a color accuracy much better than a gamut sRGB for web, screen and printing to standard printers of 4 CMYK inks. With the LR4 test function, you can get a rendering to the very accurate display of what the final output will look like using the target printer and paper profile.

  Range wide display will not render color correctly with most web browsers and other applications run without colors. For this reason, I also suggest using a dual display configuration with a standard screen of the sRGB gamut and a screen wide gamut.

  Also be aware that 10 bits/color will give the best rendering gradients very well on wide gamut displays, but LR currently supported only the outputs on 8-bit display / color. Only PS CS4 - CS6 support 10bits color output display. You must also use a graphics card which supports 10/bit color and compatible with PS.

  If you don't fully understand the differences between a range and gamut standard (sRGB) screen I suggest doing some research. Also search in this forum and the Web for customers on the screens you are considering. There has been many problems with calibration some views of wide range of model.

  Normally the scanner is better than the scan on a printer AiO funtion. If you want to use only SCAN function, the 300 Scanjet is much better than the AiO 6520 and LESS hassle than the AiO.
