Administrator user profile questions

I use Windows Vista Home Premium.

The user profile for the administrator account on my system is apparently damaged so I log in as an administrator.  When I try to login, I get an error message indicating that the user profile cannot be loaded.

When I try to create a new administrator account or edit a user profile work to make an account administrator of the system seemed to accept the administrator password, but never brings up a window with the options to create or edit a user profile.

I also watched the user in the registry profiles, it seems that the system has created temporary profiles for the user profile that is no longer working and ".bak" (I guess that means backup) is added to the original profile IDs.  Unfortunately, I can't change the registry to remove or replace the temporary profile, because I can't log in as administrator.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to solve this type of problem.

Try a system restore and read the news of MS:

·                         Restore point:

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

Difficulty of a corrupted user profile

After creating the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.

That is where you fell down.

First of all, there is no need at all to launch Windows 7 as administrator on a daily basis - you should be run as a Standard user (protected by password) as it is the safest way to the performance of your computer

Second, you must set up an Admin account (call the Admin if you want - but not administrator!) with a password for access purposes and the elevation of emergency only

You need to forget everything about XP (if you did) - Windows 7 is much more advanced than XP that it allows to perform a Standard user account administration tasks purely by giving the Admin password.

If you cannot connect to your admin account, no tutorials can help you because they need you to connect to an administrator account to carry out the instructions.

See if the following can get an admin account...

    Go to Safe Mode...

Restart your computer > immediately and repeatedly pressing the F8 key until you see a black and white screen. The top/down arrow and select Mode safe mode with networking.

Now, while in safe mode, you perform one of the following?

1 can connect to your account admin without the error message?
If so, do. Then do a system restore. Choose a date when you were free to login to your account admin as your restore point.

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

If the system restore does not slove the problem, then use this tutorial

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947215

    2. If you are unable to log in to your account administrator in safe mode, you see another administrator next to your account?
If so, you are lucky. This is the built-in Administrator account.
There is, by default, no password.
It could connect and do the system restore.

If the system restore is not enough, then perform the tutorial even as above:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947215

If you can't do or of what precedes, I'm afraid you will have to re - install your Vista.

I can't connect to my user profile who is also the administrator.  I get a message that the password is incorrect, however I have not changed the password. My 11 year old niece used the pc last (play online games) and I was informed that it was a download/installation, but do not now what it was. I can't download or update any information on the pc that this requires the admin password. I am currently using the guest account, that does not give me access to all programs and the pc is running a little slower than ususal. Your help with this questions is appreciated.

the operating system is Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit.

    Hello

If your niece has changed the password, or you have a corrupted system, this Information Microsoft will help you.

Here are the different circumstances where it can help you.

You will need to borrow a Microsoft DVD from a friend, Recovery DVD a manufacturer without these special work options available.

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
    • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

And as you say that your niece may have downloaded something, that something could have been malicious, that can cause problems with password.

Download, updatre and scan your system with Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

And here's how to go in Safe Mode options; Select safe mode with networking from the list of options:

    Let me soce entry details:

    1. all computers need to have at least one administrator account. It will not work without it.
It does NOT, however, create a profile For YOU defaultAdmin. It belongs to the user or the owner to create and decide who is Admin, and who is a regular user.
    2. even an admin account will not get to install and change the settings automatically. UAC (user account control) always appears to ask for confirmation of the task by clicking on continue, or by typing the admin password.
3 be the main user is not to be an administrator. It is up to the user/owner of the computer to be configured as such.
That said, now my question... How do you know that you're not an admin?

  • Is it possible to create a Local administrator user when you use the Profile Manager to get the configuration settings

    Hello

We are studying the use of the Profile Manager of OS X as a way to manage our Enterprise macs.

One of the demands made by the team, is to create an administrator user, as part of the OS X Profile which is lowered to the customer. The rationale is that this would be a way for the it team get, if the fubar user had their Mac

I did not see this anywhere in the configuration options of the Profile Manager and so ask the people who use it as part of their everyday Toolbox, to find out if such an option is available.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Madan failed

No, not with the Profile Manager.

How you deploying your company Mac?  As institutionally imagery or as BYOD devices?  If image, then the image should contain a coherent local administrator account.  If the active image also the Apple Remote Desktop or SSH, you have a method of mass, control and manage the devices.  If BYOD style, then you are out of luck that the end user is the only one with the key of the device.

You can take a look at following JAMF Casper.  Once devices are registered, you have the possibility to create accounts (However the common method is to create an account on registration).  If you deploy a BYOD approach, you should also look into DEP program Apple (https://deploy.apple.com) as more DEP JAMF (or other MDM) is a very powerful tool for light to zero touch deployment of systems.

OK, so my mom is unable to log on to his profile on Windows XP Home Edition. She has both the administrator account. When she tries to connect, you will see the above error message. My brother can log into his account without problem.

Looks like the user profile is damaged.  To allow for the recovery, you will need to log in with an administrator account.  If your MOM was the only administrator account, try starting mode safe mode (F8 at startup) and log in as user 'administrator '.  The default value is the empty password.  After that, follow the steps in the following article:
