  Am running windows 7 on a laptop computer Lenovo IdeaPad U350, but experiencing problems with the network adapter. Wireless connection works, but I can not connect via the direct cable connection. All of the updates were made and in device, the network card Manager (Broadcom 802.11 g network adapter) seems to work fine, BUT still I can't connect. I downloaded the driver from the manuvacturer (Lenovo) and installed. He still does not!

  Any ideas how to solve this problem? I am currently connected to the internet via a wireless connection, but need a wired connection.

  Here's a solution - eventually had to resort to using the Ethernet coz I had to transfer massive amounts of data and using the WiFi was just a bad idea.

  Agree with the above the drivers Lenovo doesn't have just a whole bunch of stuff (unzip, etc, etc) and curiously does not seem to go through the process to INSTALL anything... disappointment.

  For those of you who know how to get to the old plant 'Disc' (Yes, they still exist in Win7), you can get your hands on the drivers here http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/netlink_k57.php--est comes with the good old INF files to tell the system what and where to install

  3. I hope that the offending devices (Ethernet in this case) shows prominently in the other category
  4 click on it > properties
  5 looking around for the the driver update button
  6 browse my computer for training software
  7. just choose from devices... (blah blah)
  8 have Disk (tada!)
  9. then point just where you have unpacked the driver with the permission of Broadcomm files.

  This is my first time to a post here, so I'll get to the point.

  So, recently, I just had a virus on my laptop, everything is resolved except my audio problem.

  I had to go into "Safe Mode" while the virus was LURKING in my laptop, I had deleted some unwanted files

  It comes from the virus.

  ACCIDENTALLY, I deleted half of what was in my "common files" folder witch was located in:

  C:\Program Files\Common Files

  I have still a few other folders inside this folder... I used to have a lot, and I think that some of them were important.

  Only after that when I rebooted my computer, I realized that my audio seemed low. (My volume was 16% and it is always

  the volume loud enough and perfect for me).

  Also, YES, I tried the troubleshooting method everyone does, and it is always at low volume.

  It does not solve the problem. The same day, I caught the virus, it was withdrawn after a few hours, so all is well.

  Well, there you go, that's my problem. Please any help would be appreciated!

  The sound is fine as long as I don't nothing plug into the headphone jack. After I use headphones, whatever, the audio starts to go out of sync from the video. The video seems trolling of the audio in a few seconds.  The current patch I do is simply close the program with, either Chrome or a video player, then start it again. What tends to solve the problem sometimes, until it happens again. Built-in speakers have no question unless the helmet ruin the audio, then they begin to show the same effect. Also when the headphones are plugged and I put a video break and maybe go to another page for a bit and then come back to video, she became silent and the mixer Volume shows a Chrome icon doesn't produce any noise. When I restart Chrome, Chrome icon remains quietly on the volume mixer or it goes away and a new active icon in Chrome has taken its place.   Hi, a few months ago, I brought a HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC running windows 8.1. It is connected to my wifi with Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter. My modem is a Technicolour TG582n 2 Wireless ADSL + with wireless 802.11 b/g/n compatible.

  As soon as I got there I noticed a problem of internet where I would be able to connect to my home WiFi network and get full reception bars but would have a hard time to access Web sites on web browsers such as chrome, mozilla and internet explore pages takes some time to load and eventually reached a page "this webpage is not available" (for chrome). This problem seems to occur only with my home network as it can connect to public wifi and my wifi friends and yet I have many other devices such as laptops and other smartphones connected to my wifi that did not at all have poblems with internet and it just seems to be mine. When I connect via ethernet I get good connection for about 10 minutes and then I was completely cut off. However, I can upload a file via the wifi ok if I can get it to start and I can play a game online well enough but often disconnected after an hour or two.

  I checked for new updates of pilot, but they seem to be up to date and im do not manually downloading and installing one on the hp site but I tried (I did probably wrong). I ran the diagnostic function, but it cannot detect all problems. I looked around the internet as well, but still havn't found a solution.

  Also I got the laptop sent back and received a new but the same problem persisted and as I walked through the process of the person I was talking to a admitted that I had a problem like they remote limited from my laptop for a little for the access problem.

  Please help, I've had this problem for a month or two now and is really becoming a problem since I use my laptop computer for purposes of requiring home internet work.

  I understand that you have a problem with your connection Wireless at home. You are able to connect with full bars but are unable to access the web.   When you're lucky hours just access the Web, you can make a download if you get started in time or play games online for one or two before again declining. You ran the diagnostic function, but no problems were. You had the phone replaced for the same issue, but the replacement has the same question.

  You know your network is an 802.11 G or 802.11n.   How do I know if my WiFi connects using 802.11n (as superuser)

  Please check this setting.

  1. Open the Device Manager
  2. Click the network adapters to expand the list
  3. Right click on the Ethernet connection, and choose Properties
  4. Click the power management tab

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your laptop 15-r131wm HP and problems with download a suitable driver for the Audio. You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

  Update Audio drivers by using Device Manager, follow these steps, click the Windows icon in your taskbar, type device manager in the area start search and then press ENTER.
  Double-click sound, video and game controllers.
  Find and double-click the driver Audio IDT high definition (HD).
  Click the driver tab, update the driver and the software from there.
