Adobe Premiere file import failure

Hi guys,.

I seem to have a problem with Adobe Premiere CS4 after reinstalling the program in my new computer.

It seems that the first does not recognize my files even if it is supported.  Include mp4, avi (sound only), mpeg, etc.

Be great if someone can provide a solution.  First I already reinstalled several times but to no avail.

Thank you!

It is likely that your new computer does not have the CODEC H.264, which you precedent. Install from Apple, or the H264 CODEC from MainConcept H.264, and you are likely to work as before.

Good luck

Does anyone know why can't import video MXF files from the Canon XC10 to first Pro CS6?  I searched for a process / workflow that does not include having to use an mxf converter.  I looked at a number of different suggestions on the web.  I read the following article http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/premiere/cs6/pdfs/adobe-premiere-pro-cs 6-canon-workflow - guide.pdf which indicates it should not be a problem with the import mxf to the first pro cs6.  I also used the Canon XF Utility - once again unfortunately, I still got the message "the importer reported a generic error.  Other Adobe applications, faced with this format include Prelude and Media Encoder.

I'm on Windows 10.  I hope that someone in the community will have technical knowledge to help.  Or maybe even staff Adobe might be able to offer suggestions.  Thank you.

If you download the Canon XF Utility software,

You load the map and export in MXF format (that's all) on the hard disk.

  • PE11 - «File import Failure» - video download

CPU on old laptop crashed. Unable to save the project and the hard drive I was working on. New laptop - reinstalled first elements 11. Now moving video files. I have rellinked but on some clips, I get "Importer reported a generic error." I even tried to re - download both clips in question, but it did not work. How can I fix it?

After installing a program, as a player of QT, which installs also several CODECS into the BONE, it's always a good idea.

    Please update on your situation.

  • Importing video alpha channel: what to export for Adobe Premiere? Reduced file size Important.

I want to import a small 20 second animation at 1920 x 1080, RGB + alpha superimposed, all less than 5 MB of After Effects in Adobe Premiere. What are my options? Used to be my go-to the file format FLV files. An example FLV pose this requirement would be around 700 KB.

Export in. MOV with Alpha as a result of this same file 700KB to 950MB (difference of size of files after x 1350).

Export in. AVI with Alpha translates this same file 700KB to 9800 MB (a x 14000 times difference in file size).

Export in lossless with Alpha translates this same file 700KB to 1100 MB (difference of size of files after x 1500).

I surrender all the little animations of 10-30 per project and make them all integrated into Adobe Premiere, so a dynamic link is not practical. This was a nice project of ~ 15MB will now have to be (at least) a project of ~ 20GB. This is not sustainable.

    Any help appreciated, thanks.

    My choice would be Cineform.

The files will be not small, but it is an unreasonable expectation here, I think.  The size of the intermediaries is not usually something that worry, not only the expected results.

Looking at the specs of your camera (SJCam 4000), we already know what video compression your camera uses. It is H.264.

A H.264.mov file should be accompanied by a first elements 11. On what computer operating system is your first items 11 running?

You have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer? And, you use QuickTime and first of 11 elements of a

Account user with administrative privileges? Please go to Premiere elements 11 publish + share/computer/QuickTime to confirm that you will find

presets it to the choice of QuickTime, it.

What are the properties of these files H.264.mov - is it 1080 p (1920 x 1080 p 30) 30 or something else? Do you know if this device is registering with a variable or

    a constant rate?

Please check and review and then we'll decide what next.

    Thank you.

  • Adobe Premiere CS6 isn't playing or import files .avi suddenly on my iMac...

I started 2 years ago to work on a project. All my .avi files worked fine on my iMac 1 months ago. Suddenly, first decided to not play these video (no sound, no video). I have this message for each clip: "the import module returned a generic error." I tried a lot to the top of my projects, so it's not my project which is corrupt. I used the same exact files with the same exact Adobe Premiere project on my MacBook Pro and everything works fine... What can I do to solve this problem on my iMac? Thanks for your help!

I found the problem on my iMac. There is only one more software on my iMac than on my MacBook Pro, Intego Virus Barrier. I've done the update of Intego and all my problems with Adobe CS6 now seems to be fixed. I had another problem with an update of Safari 2 years ago, and all of a sudden, I wasn't able to open Safari because of Intego Virus barrier did not work with the update. So this time, Intego Virus barrier had problems with the latest updated Mavricks, and it causes problems in Adobe Creative Suite 6.

I'm very happy, now I can finish my documentary!

  • How import you "MVI_ file No. THM' of 'Canon Powershot SX1 IS' in Adobe Premiere Elements

When I tried to import a MVI_ "# file. THM file of a machine "Canon Powershot SX1 IS" in Adobe Premiere Elements, I received the following message: "this file type is not supported, or the required codec is not installed."

    How to solve this problem?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    John

THM files are images representing your video files. As small icons. They are files or photo or a video that explains why they don't are not supported by Premiere Elements.

The pictures on this camera are likely .jpg files. Video on low-end cameras like this can be forms of .avi or .mov.

  • Problem with Adobe Premiere CC 2015 opening DNG files.

When I try to open a file CinemaDNG (shot on Bolex Digital Monochrome) in first CC 2015 on OSX, I get the error message "not supported or damaged file in Format".

The same file will open without problem in After Effects, Photoshop, OSX Preview & co.

    What's wrong?

According to the website of Bolex Digital, Premiere Pro supports the CinemaDNG of Bolex Digital:

Editing with. CinemaDNG files natively in Adobe first CC

However, their article mentions using the simple import command. The media browser is a better choice for the CinemaDNG files:

  • How can I add files imported into sequences using ExtendScript connection of Premiere Pro?

I really want to know the answer to this... I'm trying to create a script (in ExtendScript for Premiere Pro) that will load into the specified video files, attach them to the specified start and stop time, place it in a sequence and then export the resulting film.

I understand that Adobe has no official documentation on the scripts for Premiere Pro, so I worked from the data (in the ExtendScript Toolkit or ESTK) browser and a collection of handy references I found to links like this:

    http://WEBCACHE.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://cssdk.adobesites.com/SDK/2.1/d ocs/WebHelp/references/csawlib/com/adobe/premiere/App.html

(You can replace the 'App' with other class names, but they must always be properly capitalized, as a 'Project' or 'TrackCollection'. Pages list properties and methods to the classes, and are the only place where I was able to find what kind of parameters/arguments methods expect.)

I loaded correctly in the CSV file that specifies the information required. I also know how to import video files and create a new sequence (as explained here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1177191). The pain that I am experiencing now is to get the imported files properly cut and placed in the sequence. (I see that the activeSequence has methods like setInPoint and setOutPoint, but that doesn't seem to translate into the correct trimming to export).

Here is my code (with comments to show the flow of the global script):

#target premierepro var myDir = "G:\\directoryWithVideoFiles\\"; // defined "indexOf" subfunction here // ***** begin main body of script ***** // (dataRuns has fields runName, startVideo, startTime, stopVideo, stopTime) // Import video files listed in dataRuns var vidFiles = new Array; for (i=0; i<dataRuns.length; i++) { if (indexOf.call(vidFiles,myDir + dataRuns[i].startVideo + '.MPG') == -1) { vidFiles.push(myDir + dataRuns[i].startVideo + '.MPG'); } if (indexOf.call(vidFiles,myDir + dataRuns[i].stopVideo + '.MPG') == -1) { vidFiles.push(myDir + dataRuns[i].stopVideo + '.MPG'); } app.project.createNewSequence(dataRuns[i].runName,''); } app.project.importFiles(vidFiles); // at this point, for each run (called runName) I need to: // - take a clip of the startVideo from the startTime to the end of the video // - take a clip of the stopVideo from the start of the video to the stopTime // - put clip 1 at the beginning of the associated sequence, & clip 2 right after // - export the sequence as a new video file

The example PProPanel shows how to import files and make the sequences. The missing part (from above) = there is no supported method for adding clips to sequences.

Tim, if you would, please write to me at my day job [b b b at adobe dot com] an overview of the workflow (s) you wish to support, and I can better frame.

  • MORE THAN 1 DVD TO ADOBE PREMIERE PRO CS4 IMPORT?

WHEN I IMPORT A DVD VOB FILE (FOR EXAMPLE THE NAME OF THE 1ST FILE IS "VTS_01_1.VOB") SINCE A DVD EXISTING TO ADOBE PREMIERE PRO CS4, THIS I MUST LEAVE THIS DVD IN THE DVD PLAYER ALL THE TIME I'M CHANGING MY PROJECT?

THE PROBLEM IS THAT I HAVE 3 DIFFERENT DVDS AND THE TIME AFTER THAT I IMPORTED THE DVD VOB FILE AND THEN OPEN THE DRIVE TO PUT THE NEW DVD IN THE NEW FILE I NEED, THE PREVIOUS VOB FILES ALL DISAPPEAR AS IF THEY ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE FIRST DVD WHERE THEY COME FROM.

CAN ADOBE PREMIERE PRO CS4 "REMEMBER" THE VOB FILE OF THE DVD THAT I IMPORTED?  THANKS FOR ANY HELP ON THIS...

One thing I note is that when you import assets into a project, they have not imported from this asset, but only to put in place a link to it, where she resided, when importation was made. The project file (PRPROJ) is only a database of XML links and instructions. There is no active (media files) in it. They must be available for the system and must be kept in the same exact spot on the system, i.e. do not move, rename or delete multimedia files, until you are sure you have finished 100%.

Good luck and just copy all the VOB on HARD disk before importing. Import these copies and keep them in the same place.

In order to improve my skills and ease with Premiere Pro, I bought Adobe Premiere Pro CC Classroom in a Book and began to follow the tutorial. I opened the first project for lesson 1, as instructed, but looks like that when he opened it imported two media accompanying the project of the lesson and media one of the practical projects that I've done before. Can someone tell me what I did wrong and why it has imported two sets of brackets instead of only in the media for the lesson. Media for two different projects are not storeed in the same place?

I found the problem. Sorry if I've lost any time. Please do not take into account. Thank you.

  • How to set up Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 to read. MTS video files?

How to set up Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 to read. MTS video files?

CS3 does not support this format.  MTS/AVCHD support was not introduced before CS4.  Convert the files to something else.  You can use a free program called Handbrake to do.
