Adobe Reader constantly crashing down on Start

Hello

for months now, since the release of your new version of Reader, your free product keeps constantly crashing down when I start it.

I use the WIndows operating system.

Why do you need to 'home' to your servers with metadata and other information about my activity transferred to your servers EACH TIME I start your program?

Why this problem is NOT addressed with new versions? He has not been there before.

I mean, I paid for your other programs, for example Creative Suite and I know the Reader is free, but it has always been like that - I feel REALLY BAD about the fact, you put your customers in the second and collecting your metadata and other information first of all, with regard to these tools as a PDF reader.

I am now most certainly looking for other free alternative to your drive, since it is almost UNUSABLE.

My system crashes and accidents almost - every time that start you application.

My system uses the latest updates, paid antivirus and antispyware protection (to date) and is kept in very good shape.

I have NO problem with other applications, your inexpensive paid.

Why exactly this program? Concerns about the behavior of the application have been vocied several times before on your forums, or your new CEO has decided not being able to listen to them more?

If so, very reckless tactics... As I said, I'm now looking for alternatives to your software.

  • Hi, Adobe Reader XI crashes when I try to connect to an online pdf file.

Hi, can someone help, please? Adobe XI player crashes when I connect to a PDF Online. Pre-recorded those still read correctly. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader and reset google chrome, but the problem is still there! What can I try next?

Chrome uses its own Viewer PDF, not the Adobe Reader plugin. See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

  • Anyone can help solve this frustrating bug in Adobe Reader 8 drop-down list?

Has anyone met the bottom of drop in their PDF form that do not work in Adobe Reader 8?

A simple example is my form (stripped back) here:

    http://www.wikski.com/misc/test.PDF

I built a form with 22 sections in this document, some 1800 of code lines, and now every drop down has decided to not work in Adobe Reader 8.

The behavior is when you select a drop down, it immediately turns off itself and you cannot use the item at all.

I've had this happen and by simply removing the element in LiveCycle ES2 of Designers (which is what I used to create the entire form) and recreate exactly the same thing; seemed to remedy. However, so far I passed the point of being able to recreate each drop of this time, I need to know actually what is the cause of the bug.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    See you soon,.

I don't know why you need the xfa.layout.relayout (); in your calls in your enter events (at least in the set_focus function).

    Seems to work without it.

I had more problems with Reader 8.0 than any other version.

  • How to stop the Adobe Reader Installer crashing?

I downloaded install_reader10_en_air_mssa_aih.exe and this popup appears:

    Microsoft Visual Studio Debugger

If I leave the door open for a while, he finally said:

An exception 'Runtime error' has occurred in the Script.

However, no debuggers are registered that can debug this exception. Cannot perform a JIT debugging.

  • How can I prevent the software Adobe Reader crashing on my non privileged user?

I am running Windows 7 and I need to create a user non-preferred on my computer. When I open a PDF file, it crashes almost instantly (I can view the document three seconds approximately). If I just open Adobe Reader without a PDF and click on Edit-> Preferences, it crashes. If I open a PDF file in any browser, it crashes.

What I was able to guess, it seems that Adobe Reader tries to read the registry of my privileged user. I have tried to uninstall Adobe Reader, temporarily to grant privileges to my non-privileged user, install Adobe Reader on this user, and then remove the permissions, but the accident is still happening. The only way to stop Adobe Reader to plant is to start the program as an administrator, or change the type of administrator account. How can I prevent the software Adobe Reader crashing on my non privileged user?

I had corruption of the registry "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders", where many of the keys have values set for the directories of the user of my administration. I did not write exactly which keys have been corrupted and causing the accident, but once I have finished all the fixing Adobe Reader worked perfectly and I was able to open the preferences.

  • Firefox crashes when you use pdf to adobe reader retriving files

For instance when I tried to get a PDF from the IRS web site with adobe reader firefox crashes, it also does the same on other sites on pdf files that would be the problem and how could I solve this problem.

    Hi roy6640,

Have you looked at the articles of the basis of knowledge of troubleshooting issues with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems or use the Adobe Reader to view or download PDF files plugin? There is some good information in there. You can try to reinstall the plugin as well to update or if it has expired.

    Hope this helps!

  • Software Adobe reader 11 XL crashes whenever I try to open it.

Whenever I try to open Adobe reader, it crashes.  I have re installed, re booted the computer and nothing.  I get the same message "Adobe reader has stopped working".  I use windows & professional, and I'm not goggle chrome.

After installing Windows 10 11 player, I would assume that the first order of the day is to update because Windows 10 support was not added until 11.0.12. (Adobe obviously prefer that you use Acrobat Reader DC.) I would try the latest cumulative patch: Adobe - Adobe Reader: for Windows: Adobe Reader 11.0.17 - all languages updated . BTW the built-in updater will modernize you CD player when even if you don't turn, then you might as well learn how to apply the patches manually if you want to use Reader 11.

  • Adobe Reader XI 11.0 with MS Word problems

I wanted to convert MS Word to PDF. See it's avalible with Adobe Reader XI I clicked to start the conversion.

To my surprise I have to pay a price for this process, I do not embrace.

I did not continue the checkout process.

I now have problems to open MS Word documents.

Trying to open MS Word, Adobe opens with a basically error message indicating that the file is not supported.

I deleted Adobe Reader and reinstalled with the same problem.

What can I do about this problem?

    Thank you!

    Steve

This means that your file is corrupted.  You must set for that

    • .pdf files open with Adobe Reader
    • .doc / .docx files open with MS Word
  • Adobe Reader XI will remain open.

I recently installed Adobe Reader XI. If I open the program directly or double-click a PDF file the results are identical. I briefly see the window of the empty player application, then it closes. I ran the repair function on panel without any positive result. Can someone tell me what is the problem and the solution? Thank you.

Pat, I downloaded and ran the clean utility, a then attempted to install the three versions of Adobe Reader available on the link you provided, uninstall and install necessary. I have experienced the same problem with all versions. I spoke to a colleague what was going on, and he told me reinstall Adobe Reader XI and try to start it. After you get the same result, he asked me to look at the event viewer. We have seen the entry below. I navigated to the C:\Program Files (x 86) folder \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\ and double-click on the Eula.exe. It displays the end-user license agreement window, and I clicked on "accept". After doing this, I was able to start the drive without problem, and everything seems to work fine now. Pretty weird. In any case, I thought that I'll let you know in case it has provided useful information. It may be just a weirdism on my laptop. He woudn't will certainly be the first. It's a Lenovo Thinkpad and I've renamed a Stinkpad, for good reason. Thanks for your help and your professional expertise and let me know if there is anything else (newspapers, etc.) If you think that it would be useful or helpful.

  • Extend the functionality of Adobe Reader

    Hello

I am working on a form that contains several menu drop-down lists the fields wrapped individually in hidden subforms that become available (visible), once their assigned boxes are enabled. After testing the form, everything works fine. However, the question that I am running is actually come to that after I Extend features in Adobe Reader. The issue has to do with the items in the drop-down list, in which I use a loop for my list of items
very much in the same way as the form 'command' that comes with Adobe LiveCycle. The problem is that, before you extend the functionality of Adobe Reader, the drop-down list shows all my items displayed in my planned just like loop, however, once I have extend the functionality of player, all list items appear twice i.e. item1, item2, item3, then item1, item2, item3 again as if she 'Shadows' everything.

When I noticed the issued in my form, I thought I had done something wrong, but after checking the double I confirmed that issued occurred on the file extended and not on the original file. So, I decided to test it on the 'Order' by 'Extension functions in Adobe Reader' form and and the same thing happened to the elements "ID." You can check it out for yourself!

I'd appreciate any help you can give me for this problem.

    Thank you!!

    Hello

If you look here, you will see that some events 'appear' to fire twice when the form is activated: event triggered twice

I suspect that you have the script in an event like docReady or initialize.

You can move the script to the preOpen the dropdown event. It just fires the user opens the drop-down list.

Another possible solution would be to include the following line at the top of your script to stand for the drop-down list:

    this.clearItems();

This would erase the list when the event triggers the second time in the active player form and then fill it up again once.

    Good luck

    Niall
