Adobe Reader XI crashes

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the same thing happens; Open a pdf doc seems but then a dialog "this program has stopped working" only option is to close the program.

Everyone knows about this problem?

No idea on how it can be fixed?

Maybe if I've downloaded using Google Chrome?

A few things to try...

  • Upgrade to Reader 11.0.5
  • Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
  • You can open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].
  • If Reader opens in itself, try to disable the Safe_mode in the registry; Download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
  • It might even be a malware problem; See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  • Adobe Reader constantly crashing down on Start

    Hello

for months now, since the release of your new version of Reader, your free product keeps constantly crashing down when I start it.

I use the WIndows operating system.

Why do you need to 'home' to your servers with metadata and other information about my activity transferred to your servers EACH TIME I start your program?

Why this problem is NOT addressed with new versions? He has not been there before.

I mean, I paid for your other programs, for example Creative Suite and I know the Reader is free, but it has always been like that - I feel REALLY BAD about the fact, you put your customers in the second and collecting your metadata and other information first of all, with regard to these tools as a PDF reader.

I am now most certainly looking for other free alternative to your drive, since it is almost UNUSABLE.

My system crashes and accidents almost - every time that start you application.

My system uses the latest updates, paid antivirus and antispyware protection (to date) and is kept in very good shape.

I have NO problem with other applications, your inexpensive paid.

Why exactly this program? Concerns about the behavior of the application have been vocied several times before on your forums, or your new CEO has decided not being able to listen to them more?

If so, very reckless tactics... As I said, I'm now looking for alternatives to your software.

    Hello

Try to repair Acrobat, and see if it works, to make open Acrobat > help > Repair Installation

If the repair doesn't work, follow the steps that are given in this link: Troubleshooting of errors, freezes | Adobe Reader | Windows

Hi, can someone help, please? Adobe XI player crashes when I connect to a PDF Online. Pre-recorded those still read correctly. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader and reset google chrome, but the problem is still there! What can I try next?

Chrome uses its own Viewer PDF, not the Adobe Reader plugin. See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

  • How to stop the Adobe Reader Installer crashing?

I downloaded install_reader10_en_air_mssa_aih.exe and this popup appears:

    Microsoft Visual Studio Debugger

If I leave the door open for a while, he finally said:

    The just-in-time debugging

An exception 'Runtime error' has occurred in the Script.

However, no debuggers are registered that can debug this exception. Cannot perform a JIT debugging.

When I tried to open a second copy, I did not have this popup, but rather received another message:

  • Firefox crashes when you use pdf to adobe reader retriving files

For instance when I tried to get a PDF from the IRS web site with adobe reader firefox crashes, it also does the same on other sites on pdf files that would be the problem and how could I solve this problem.

    Hi roy6640,

Have you looked at the articles of the basis of knowledge of troubleshooting issues with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems or use the Adobe Reader to view or download PDF files plugin? There is some good information in there. You can try to reinstall the plugin as well to update or if it has expired.

    Hope this helps!

  • Software Adobe reader 11 XL crashes whenever I try to open it.

Whenever I try to open Adobe reader, it crashes.  I have re installed, re booted the computer and nothing.  I get the same message "Adobe reader has stopped working".  I use windows & professional, and I'm not goggle chrome.

After installing Windows 10 11 player, I would assume that the first order of the day is to update because Windows 10 support was not added until 11.0.12. (Adobe obviously prefer that you use Acrobat Reader DC.) I would try the latest cumulative patch: Adobe - Adobe Reader: for Windows: Adobe Reader 11.0.17 - all languages updated . BTW the built-in updater will modernize you CD player when even if you don't turn, then you might as well learn how to apply the patches manually if you want to use Reader 11.

  • Adobe Reader crashes when you try to print to the printer? Why? Any ideas would be great on how to solve this problem for my clients...

Adobe Reader crashes when you try to print to the printer?  Why?  Any ideas would be great on how to solve this problem for my clients... This seems to be a problem once the latest version of windows update 03/08.  I don't know if it's a real problem Adobe, IE question, question of operating system or printer/printer driver problem.

    Someone please help!  Thank you

In fact, I have not... However, I have to go change the preferences of Adobe and to take do not open in the Internet Explorer browser and that seems to have solved the problem for now.  However I am still confused about whether it is a matter of IE8 or Adobe 9 and X... Because it's not all my clients with that number only some of them...

  • Adobe reader 11 and dc crashes after trying to connect to use pdf export.

I have adobe installed CD player and after signing to do the export adobe pdf, it crashed. CD player would crash whenever I tried to run after that. Uninstalling and reinstalling drive dc fixed the crash until I went to reconnect to use pdf export. So, I removed the CD player and installed reader 11. Drive 11 blocks the moment I click on connect. Anyone has any suggestions I can try to solve this problem?

    Hi maryl1671466,

Export PDF service is not compatible with Reader 11 so there is no interest in trying it.

Uninstall any previous installer using this link Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat cleaning - Adobe Labs tool, reboot your system & reinstall CD player using this link Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution, Sign In using your adobe ID to use the service to export it in PDF format.

Otherwise, you can also use the export to PDF Online https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf

Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards
    Nicos

Questions for users confronted with this question:

    1. do you have the preview pane enabled in file Explorer? If so, you can temporarily disable it to see if the problem goes away? On Windows 8, in Explorer, go to the view tab, and if you press the button "Preview Pane", UN-press it. On Windows 7, upwards to the right (to the left of the help icon) there is a button "show preview pane." UN-press it.

    2. ensure that the following directories exist on your machine. If this isn't the case, please create them:

    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\ToolsSearchCacheAcro

    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\ToolsSearchCacheRdr

    Replace USERNAME with your username.

Is - do this 1 or 2 to solve this problem?

  • Software Adobe reader crashing on Windows 8.1

    Hello

I recently updated my computer to Windows 7 to Windows 8. 1. I had to reinstall a whole bunch of programs, including Adobe Reader. It has installed without problem, but every time I try and open a .pdf file it shows for 3 seconds approximately and then crashes. This also happens if I double click on the shortcut of Adobe Reader. I tried to download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader, a few times, but the problem persists. Anyone having the same problems and possibly a solution?

    Thank you

Try to disable Protected Mode.  Because you can not open the player itself, turn it off via the registry: download, unzip, then run the attached registry script.
