I tried repeatedly to download/install Adobe Reader and it keeps failing.  Not sure what the problem is.

Try to download and run the full installer here---> Adobe - Adobe Reader Distribution

Problem started with the pop-up box 'Windows Installer' TrayApp.msi, ScannerCopy.msi, error 1601. Computer works fine, the printer works fine. Adobe Reader update installation failure. Worried about the security updates. Set to "automatic updates" everyday. Printer installation has been done since the HP Web site. Can you help me? English plain please. Not a developer.

    English plain please.

"Plain English", specifically including complete sentences, is also useful when you ask questions.  You must also specify the version of Windows you have, including the Service Pack (click right my computer and select Properties, if you do not know).

Whatever your printer works well has to do with the errors that you see?  If there is a problem with your printer, please include the brand (HP, I guess) and the model.

When this popup error happens (that is, which causes the error)?

Was the message itself, that you have received 'Windows install is not accessible.  Installation cannot continue because the Windows Installer is accessible.  Error 1601 "code?

If this is the error message you received, then:

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK).
In the black command prompt window, type the following lines and press ENTER after each line

    msiexec /unreg
    msiexec/regserver
    output

You shouldn't really have to restart the computer here, but do it anyway.

Do whatever it is that caused the error message.  Things work now?

If you want to install Adobe Reader, the current version is here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/ don't forget to uncheck the box to install McAfee Security Scan Plus.  You can be happier, however, with the software free FoxIt Reader, an application that is much less inflated to read pdf files.

  • Problems with Adobe Reader - failed to install properly

I had Adobe Reader is installed on my Windows 7 laptop for a while and it worked perfectly until recently.  It works automatically, but recently, when I tried to download a document that I give permission to Adobe, I've been happy to work this way even if it caused irritation.  Tonight Adobe Reader would not work, but next to the Adobe Reader has been blocked because "it's outdated".  I tried to update, but get the message "that a single instance of the application can run". "."  I tried to solve this problem in uninstalling and reinstalling, but I still get the last message. When I finally installed the program, it has not completed the installation as it does not appear as an installed program, I don't have a clue what to do to fix this problem and would appreciate your help.

You can try to use this tool first remove all traces of your computer:

    http://labs.Adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Then you can download the complete player offline installer from

    http://get.Adobe.com/reader/Enterprise/

After downloading, restart your computer and run the Setup program before anything else.

  • Adobe Reader Installer failed. Now I can't run, re - install or uninstall.

Tried to install Adobe Reader XI on my newly refreshed (new) Windows 8 desktop. After reaching 96% completion, the installer hanging for more than an hour, and in frustration I finally stopped via the Task Manager. I tried to reinstall it by running the installer from the website, and when that failed to do anything, I downloaded the full package on my drive. Run the installation of the package I downloaded anything also. A look at running processes show a couple Adobe Reader to background process, but does not consume significant system resources.

Drive does not appear in the list of installed programs in the Control Panel, so I can't uninstall it to try a clean install. I had enough problems with Windows 8, I envisage, cleaning the disc and go back to XP...

If you have a third installed anti-virus program, temporarily disable or uninstall.

  • Adobe Reader constantly crashing down on Start

    Hello

for months now, since the release of your new version of Reader, your free product keeps constantly crashing down when I start it.

I use the WIndows operating system.

Why do you need to 'home' to your servers with metadata and other information about my activity transferred to your servers EACH TIME I start your program?

Why this problem is NOT addressed with new versions? He has not been there before.

I mean, I paid for your other programs, for example Creative Suite and I know the Reader is free, but it has always been like that - I feel REALLY BAD about the fact, you put your customers in the second and collecting your metadata and other information first of all, with regard to these tools as a PDF reader.

I am now most certainly looking for other free alternative to your drive, since it is almost UNUSABLE.

My system crashes and accidents almost - every time that start you application.

My system uses the latest updates, paid antivirus and antispyware protection (to date) and is kept in very good shape.

I have NO problem with other applications, your inexpensive paid.

Why exactly this program? Concerns about the behavior of the application have been vocied several times before on your forums, or your new CEO has decided not being able to listen to them more?

If so, very reckless tactics... As I said, I'm now looking for alternatives to your software.

  • Adobe Reader XI update failed.  How to fix?

When my 64-bit machine of windows 7 has been updated to adobe reader XI, the update function began to fail continuously.  I get the following message is displayed "Adobe Reader Updater":

"Update failed, an error has occurred.  Please check the updates later.  Error: 111500 "

Annoyingly, this message appears when adobe tries to automatically check for updates.  I also get this message every time I check the updates manually.  I tried to 'check for updates later' a million times without success.  I also uninstalled and reinstalled drive a million times.  I also uninstalled, used the removal tool from adobe reader for the removal of old versions and reinstalled a million times.  I also tried to reinstall the older versions.  However, if I use the XI version or an earlier version of the player, I always get the above message when I ask for an update.  Help, please!

Reader XI is not supported under Vista; the latest version of reader for Vista is 10.1.14.

  • I'm trying to update my Adobe Reader 7.0, Windows XP, but I keep getting 'failed to initialize. "

How do update Adobe Reader 7.0 on my XP, I tried several times but keep getting 'failed to initialize' error when I try to run the installer. I tried to save it, and then execute it, and also just running it at the download prompt.

Please help, because I have trouble opening PDF files that are on web pages. I thought that maybe update would be useful

You must uninstall Reader 7 before installing the drive X.  The upgrade from one version to the other often works very well, but don't not jumping over several versions.

Download Setup http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ offline to avoid this error message.
