Adobe Reader XI hangs just push a button

It is a problem, I first noticed on my boyfriend's computer. He was running Windows 8 at the time, now upgraded to 8.1. Also, it happens to me on my computer.  I also run Windows 8.1.  To reproduce the bug:

(1) open a document in Adobe Reader XI.

2) press a key on the keyboard OR press on any peripheral on the mouse. (which means not left/right click buttons)

(3) adobe Reader XI will close.

I reinstalled the software both on his and my computers. I did the cleaning before reinstalling, etc. of the registry. Nothing suits him. The software crashes as soon as I hit any key on the keyboard or the mouse. Note that I can click on the page with the mouse left/right buttons.  I can scroll with the mouse wheel. But if I hit any other button of the mouse, such as wheel of mouse, front/rear, zoom button, the software crashes.  It is reproducible for me on both computers to 100%.

Any advice?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

    Thank you!!!

    That is right.

    If you have Acrobat you need not drive in any case since the drive is only for viewing of PDFs and Acrobat has that covered already.

    Due to different applications in the Organization we can change the behavior of opening pdf in Adobe Reader itself app. Sometimes PDF files should be opened in Internet Explorer (display PDF in browser).

    After a few days, I found the cause of this problem.

    One of our standard application plugin was causing this strange behavior of Internet Explorer.

    Plugin for Adobe Reader, of course.

    Thank you

  • Adobe Reader XI hangs

    Adobe Reader XI quite often blocks (the system is Windows 7). I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader X instead. At first, I tried to re - install the player XI, but the installer kept repeating that the necessary authorization was lacking (which is complete nonsense, I am / is logged as an administrator). Did anyone recognizes this problem? And what I can do to prevent it?

  • Why can't copy - paste from Adobe Reader? I just get hieroglyphics.

    When I copy and paste the text of Redaer 365 word I get just from the hieroglyphics.

    The police in this file encoding is all wrong, probably because of the application used to create it (Ghostscript). I doubt you were never able to successfully copy any text from it.

  • How does a text highlight using Adobe reader?

    How a person highlight text, using the adobe reader software?

    Hi Chae,

    You can select text and then right-click the selection and choose "Highlight text".

    If you are using the latest version of Adobe Reader, you can just in the toolbar select the tool to highlight and drag it over the text you want to highlight.

    More clearly: you can try Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement

  • I can't fill all the PDF with Adobe Reader downloads

    I had Adobe Reader X with this problem then uninstalled X, then installed Adobe Reader XI and again I cannot complete downloads of PDFs on the Explorer of Windows 8 with on the page of document explore downloader crashing. Then a few times when I have the option ' save in ' the PDF doc to a download file I open it from there. Most of all the PDF files existing open very well.

    UPDATE!

    I had to fix it myself!

    Not more than one person (thank you) has tried to help me!

    I FIXED IT...

    The problem was that we could tell a free Adobe reader conflict. The software would not shut down all instances. He just wouldn't leave, time I had turned off my PC or other. If I tried to run one instance of the software Adobe reader then failed, then tried again, the number of times I've tried always would continue and would not stop trying to 'end task' with the 'Task Manager' in the section 'process', then when I managed moreover to 'process' was more in the "Details" section of 'Task Manager' who wouldn't stop!

    I down loaded "Acrobat Cleaner" and he ran immediately by selecting Adobe Reader to delete, after starting my PC and he took all the facilities.

    I then proceeded to find the files of all the other "Adobe Reader" downloaded and just trained to the trash.

    It gave me the chance to make a very clean install, and it worked with out faltering.

    If you are having problems, do a cleaning of Adobe Reader of all the old versions and install one that is suitable for your computer.

    Acrobat Reader now load very fast, like I mean very soon!

  • this.saveAsText Adobe Reader button

    General information

    I use DC of Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI on Windows 7.

    The problem

    I have a form with several fields of text adobe. I want to add a button to the form that export field data to a .txt file. To this end, I placed this code in a Javascript file level to the path ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat 2015\Reader\Javascripts Reader:

    var exportTrial = app.trustedFunction(function(){
      app.beginPriv();
      this.exportAsText();
      app.endPriv();
    });

    I added a button to my form and set the action 'Run A JavaScript' with

    exportTrial();

    as the code.

    I extended rights (I think) using file > save as other > Reader Extended PDF > activate tools plus (includes filling out form and save).

    When the form is opened in Adobe Reader, the button is visible, but when it is pushed, the console displays the following error message:

    NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.
    Doc.exportAsText:3:Field Button:Mouse Up

    If I understand it, the code I have pop is a "save under" type dialog box for the user to choose where to place the output file. I'll eventually use cPath argument to skip this step, but I need to get the basics working first.

    If anyone can see a step I missed in this process, or if you can shed light on the permission issues that I may have, I would be grateful.

    To use this method in the reader a special right to form must be applied to the

    file and it cannot be done with Acrobat but with one of the LiveCycle

    Server applications, which are extremely expensive.
