Advice to scan documents to be included in the ID

I've gotten great help here before that it requires more work on my part to fix the problem because I first. I want to avoid this.

My mother-in-law years 90 has decided that she wants to start a compilation of booklet of newspaper articles, she wrote 40-50 years ago. I am happy to help with this project, but I want to be effective. I disappeared newspaper articles and copies of his typewritten notes, etc.

Here's my question: scanning is so many time I want to be sure to do it right the first time. What is the format etc. is preferable to placing final in id I have ID CS2 and my scanner was of average quality when I bought it years ago. (Microtek ScanMaker 6100)

Thank you in advance,

Patty

My advice is to use grayscale 300 ppi or B & W 1200 dpi bitmap. I also suggested scanning photos at 1200 dpi in grayscale, Descreening and by reducing the resolution of 300 dpi.

Your file sizes don't really mean anything to me because I do not know save you in the file format. Some compression formats, some don't. Just for fun, I tried a letter size page to grayscale 300 ppi, then oversampled it at 1200 dpi bitmap. The grayscale 300 ppi was 8.03 MB uncompressed. 1200 dpi bitmap was 16.1 MB uncompressed.

4. Finally, I scanned at 1200 dpi text but NOT in grayscale and it took 4 + minutes to scan and file xize was 335.1 M, so I have nothing else with this file.

So not in grayscale means bitmap B & W, or something else? As far as I know, you didn't test a B & W 1200 dpi bitmap.

Grayscale 300 ppi is, indeed, a photograph B & W quality commercial printing of your newspaper article. Compare with some printed text. Obviously, text is better than a picture of the text, but if it's good enough, it's good enough.

    Carolyn,

I don't know if Photoshop is the best solution for the printing of DOCUMENTS scanned.  Photoshop opens a page of a DOCUMENT at a time, let's say you have a MultiPage PDF Document, when you open with the PS, tell him what page you want to open. Once you do, it will convert this page into basically a picture, a raster file that can be edited like a photo.  So if you go to print, it prints only one page, you have open...  So, if you have opened the first page of your document and go to print it, which explains why it only prints the first page.

So is what file type of the document that you are trying to print?  If it's a PDF file, I opened it with Acrobat/Reader, depending on whether you have and that FILE you > PRINT it like that.   Or is there a particular reason (Lighten/Darken/increase contrast etc...) you are needing to go first to Photoshop?

Give me a little more information on exactly what you're trying to do and I'll do my best to provide a workflow easier to achieve your final goal.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I get my C7280 scan documents since the charger?

Maybe it's obvious, but I can't get my HP C7280 scanning documents that I put in the tray to be analyzed one by one, through the feeder. What happens is that I get the receipt tone she knows there are documents in the feeder, but when I press the scan to the computer, it does not use the charger and I find myself with an empty scan!

Is there some setting or secret for her to know, hey I put documents into the feeder, so feed them, scan them, and repeat until the vacuum. Thanks for the help!

When you scan to and to?   I just scanned a document from the charger, I used the HP Solution and the Panel before, Photosmart and it worked.  I don't want to insult you, but you have the face to print up? I checked if there could be that button magic but not that I can see. If you click the change setting button the only options in there are material (glass or Charger) and photo (glass or Charger) I guess the printer detects where you place the document to be scanned and takes it from there.

I seem to be OK with a single page at low resolution in B & W - 150 dpi but not more than a few pages to this resolution, or even a single page to a higher resolution and the error message is thrown upwards and will not save the file. Clearly I'm not memory hard drive because there is a lot of space and I tried recording on multiple disks.

  • Fail to scan documents to a PDF on my Mac

I HP8600 N911a for a few years now, but today I have tryied to scan documents in PDF format on my mac and the only thing that it displays in the preview of the scan screen is the Word failed. I do not understand why, cause when I try to scan to the JPEG Format, it works perfectly fine.

Thanks for providing this information xenia123.

I connect the printer directly to the Mac with a USB cable and try to scan a PDF document.

In this way, we find out if it's a software issue or issue a networking.

If it scans by a USB connection, the software is installed correctly.

Mac OS X includes a personal firewall that can be used to block unwanted incoming connections on your computer. A firewall protects the services on your computer from other computers on networks or on the Internet.

    1. choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security, and then firewall.

    1.

Open the Firewall pane of security preferences
    2. Click the lock icon to unlock it and enter an administrator name and password.
    3. Click Start to activate the firewall.
    4. Temporarily disable the firewall.

If you are able to scan with the firewall off, then proceed as follows to allow specified applications and services to connect:

    1. In the same window of firewall, click Advanced.
    2. Click the Add (+) button and select the application or service in the dialog box that appears.
    3. Select the application that is used to scan and check the option to automatically allow signed software...

If you cannot parse the PDF file with a USB connection, then I uninstall and reinstall the printer software.

I have provided a document to make sure that the Scan of the computer is turned on. Go to Solution 2: check the Scan of the computer definition please. A "connection error" or 'No computer detected' error message when scanning for e-all-in-one printer series HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911).

  • Scanning documents PSC 2410 in Windows 7

I have a psc 2410 and xp analysis feature was great.  I have a new computer with Windows 7 and the only options for the type of file when parsing are all related images.  I want just to scan documents in pdf or any other document file.  Is it possible to do?

Yes, a laser printer is more economical in the long run if you run a business and make a lot of black and white printing.  Color LaserJet printers are economically about the same as your standard printer injet and printed images tend to have a quality of shinny, even on printed shadows.  If you use more for home use, I would stick with the lines of ink jet.  With the lines of inkjet you have two choices for quality, either a DeskJet, PhotoSmart an or an OfficeJet.  The PhotoSmarts are the best for printing and scanning of the images of high quality, low odds are they have traditional fax and they use more ink to print documents than other inkjet printers.  The line OfficeJet has traditional Fax and is more economical on ink usage, but he cannot match analysis and print quality the PhotoSmart line has.  DeskJet printers are printers economy.  They have the lowest initial cost, but offer the least amount of feartures.  It is ultimately your choice, depending on what you want more, economy and quality.  I've included links to the 4 different printers which I think would be good for you.  Look at them and compare the features.  One of them must be exactly what need you.

    Hi @clintsterone,

Of course, I'll see if I can help.

Attachments sent to you, do you know what the file format or type it is?

You can determine by looking at the file extension.

Microsoft Word does support some file types, if you try to open a file that is not supported, it can cause the issue describe you.

Here you can see a complete list of Microsoft Office file name extensions , but I copied the Word for you.

    Legacy

    • doc - Word legacy document; Microsoft Office refers to them as "Microsoft Word 97-2003 Document"
    • dot - templates in legacy Word; officially designated "Microsoft Word 97-2003 Template"

    OOXML

    • docx - to the Word document file extension
    • comc - document allowing Word macros; Same as docx, but may contain macros and scripts
    • dotx - Word template
    • dotm - model allowing Word macros; Same as dotx, but may contain macros and scripts
    • docb - binary introduced in Microsoft Office 2007 Word document

So for example, if your file looks like this: filenameexample.doc - you should have no problem to open it.

    * If you are having difficulties and that it is a supported file type you want to contact Microsoft Support, or post the question in the Microsoft community forums for further assistance *.

    File formats your scanner:

If your file name is the same as you settings of scanning, like filenameexample.pdf - is not a supported for Word file type, and it does not open properly. You will need a program that supports this type of file to open it.

There is a list of PDF software if necessary. You probably just a viewer, so I copied them here for you.

    • Adobe Reader: freeware version for GNU/Linux.
    • Evince: Viewer default PDF and file for GNOME; replaces GPdf.
    • Okular: KDE desktop environment; replaces KPDF.
    • Xpdf: for the X Window System.
    • Xournal: GTK2 PDF viewer and annotator help Poppler.
    • Firefox: Includes a PDF Viewer
    • Google Chrome: Includes a PDF Viewer
    • ZATHURA (documents Viewer): Viewer light documents with combinations of keys vimlike.
    • MuPDF: Lightweight free document viewer.

One commonly used would be the Adobe Reader software, and you can download it for free from the Adobe website.

    Scanning in JPEG/jpg:

Many programs accept this type of file, but usually you want to open a picture program any.

Please let me know if these steps solved your problem, or if there is anything else I can do to help.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

  • Can't print or scan documents with Canon MG2470 printer (2400 series)

Original title: install a driver for the Canon 2400 series printer

    Hello

I am currently not able to print or scan documents with my Canon MG2470 printer (2400 series), that worked perfectly until a few days ago.

I tried to reinstall the software of the printer, including the driver, but the latter does not settle.  The control panel displays a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark against the Canon 2400 printer, but when I "fix" the problem, it remains unresolved.  Accordingly, my 'Cute pdf writer' is set as the default printer that is not of much use.

Regarding documents scanning with the same printer, I now get the error code 5156.69 to come, but I don't seem to be able to solve this problem either.

Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

    Norman

    Hi Norman,

This problem can occur because of corrupt drivers, incompatible drivers, due to the printer settings, missing updates, and problems with the printer.

Please follow the steps mentioned in the following link:

I also suggest you try to install the latest version of the printer driver and software from the printer manufacturer website. Consult the following link:
