After an update of Norton Utilities, Windows launch

This morning, I started my HP Pavilion a6600f, and it started normally, running in Vista.  Then, I received a notice of Norton that I needed an update, something that happens regularly.  He downloaded the updates, and then asked that I restart the computer.  I also notied it says a previous update was also pending.  After restarting, it came to initial blue screen hp and nothing more.  No key worked and the hard drive has not been consulted.  Pressing the button, the computer stop immediately, not the usual five second delay.

Obviously something happened during this update has been processed.   Any help is appreciated.  Because the computer will not start even in safe mode, I know not how to do almost anything.

Hello

In reading your question, your HP machine to power on gets only insofar as the blue HP screen with the HP Logo splash.

And you also say that no key is used which means that you can not use F8 for boot options or F2 for the HP diagnostic procedure.

To reinstall the operating system with HP you press F11 at startup, but what say yuou, even this option to you is refused.

Did a Norton Update, I suggest you to contact Norton on this problem.

See you soon.

    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

  • Problems with Vista start after the update of Norton.

    I had problems with start-up since Norton updated and re-printing my subscription a few days ago.  Initially, the splash screen would freeze, I'll try to re-start, only to be refrozen.  After several attempts, with different amounts of time in between, I tried to start a 'normal', but are also intended to "launch fix."  Microsoft solution is to go back to "settings" before the new and improved Norton Security has been installed.  "Norton isn't too happy with this solution, warning: your firewall is disabled, you are vulnerable to all viruses known to humanity" and Norton resets security and the volley continues.  At some point, the screen may freeze, and I have to start all over again.  Had my Vista Home premium SP1 and SP2 installed this past year, patches and I have had no problems since, so far.  If anything is not easy? The pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.  The garbage man comes tomorrow, I'm tempted to put my computer out of the trash.  Help. Please, I beg you.

    Hello, Heather,

    Boot safe mode with networking.  Download the following tool and run a full scan to exclude the malware.  If the system is infected, Norton will be compromised and would not be able to detect malware.

  • Why after an update my Norton 360 registry cleaning is a registry key not valid?

    This time was the in update for Adobe Reader, but I saw it with some other updates as well. I noticed this problem in my computer after that microsoft has passed to outlool.com. From there, I started to get the registry changes any time I open microsoft Explorer. This is the reason why I switched to firefox. My registry now remains unchanged any time I open Firefox, but it continues to be a problem sometimes when I run the updates. Normally, I check my record before and after the execution of the update. I contacted and complained to microsoft, but I never received a satisfactory answer.
    My computer runs on windows XP.

    Please notify.
    Thank you

    It is not really possible to answer this question without knowing the keys to register in question. Have you tried to ask Symantec why their product keeps complaining about registry keys?

    OK, I missed the part of Vista but you also said "the keyboard was not working" and that's why I commented on the keyboard.

    Also, you said "I had then a notice of Norton that I needed an update, something that happens regularly.  He downloaded updates, and then asked that I restart the computer ", there was no mention on an update of Windows.

    If this is the case, download and create the recovery of Norton as tool suggested.

  • Windows and windows vista do not open after an update.

    An update of windows vista seems to go wrong and my phone froze. I waited an hour and then just turned off and now my laptop does not open windows and there is a message saying that the files are damaged or lost and I have to use a windows install disc, but I don't have a record like that. All previous updates have been very well and I wonder how I can get into my program now?

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:
    1. a System Restore to before the updates:
    How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
    They will tell you how to do this.
    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • After going into sleep mode after automatic update of Windows 7, Pavilion p6210y PC won't sleep
    In two weeks, after an update of HP launched automatically, my monitor is not recognized - I tried to restart my PC via the power button, but the action brought everything back without interruption to the place.  Finally I made the necessary update HP closed down and all was back to normal.  Last night I made a full stop and a Windows 7 launched updates (do not turn off your computer, etc..).  This morning when I powered back upward, I got messages on the windows during Setup, etc, then everything returned normally.  I worked for a few hours and left the machine - it entered into mode 'sleep' and now I can't get out of fashion "Eve".  If I power cycle the monitor, I can messages same "cannot detect.  If I try to shut down the PC via the power button, the light is orange/sleep, I hear a humming, then seeing if off, then back to orange/snoring, reverse, etc..  Keeps the bike like this.  I'm afraid that question a couple of weeks may have been a sign of early warning of a problem of h/w, but am not sure.  Can anyone help?  I am not very savvy h/w... and hope that it is something more simple than that.  The PC is 2.5 years.
  • Windows Explorer stops working after that I have to use Windows Update
    Currently, using Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit service pack 1. After that I restarted the computer to finish the update/install Windows I can't use the functions from the Start button. Any attempt also runs programs through the Task Manager is met even uselessness. I gives me the error that Windows Explorer has stopped working and restarts. However, all program shortcuts that I have on the desktop can be used.
    The only way to solve the problem for me is to use the system restore to take me to a previous time when I didn't have the problem. However if I try to update by using windows update I experience the problem again.
    Im trying to download update is Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x 64
    Finally, I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong forum, I don't know where to go. If posting in the wrong forum, I would appreciate a link to the right pair.
    -Josh
    Hi Josh, I had the same problem with Windows Explorer on a HP Vista Home Edition 64-bit computer, it would keep restart loop and stops also all the programs in the taskbar.
    I searched different forums and I tried different options, but nothing worked until someone said it might be a virus. I have Norton but it does not detect anything, so I tried Defender of Windows (that I had turned off because I had Norton) of Windows Defender found this startup program called mwau.exe to rest under C:\recycler\(random numbers...) but when I open the C: drive, I couldn't find anything manually, but there is no option to delete or disable it through Windows Defender.
    Then I Googled that name and found a software called free Antivirus "Malwarebytes anti-malware 1.41 ' recommended by CNET download.com, it's a small program, but I downloaded and ran, it found and removed this mwau.exe, I have not had problems with Windows Explorer after that, apparently mwau.exe means (I think) auto update for Microsoft Windows.» But after its removal, I have more problems. My updates of Windows runs as usual and I get new updates as usual, but this muau.exe was probably evil viruses do.
    Here is the download free link http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
    In addition, when you click on download the exe file name is mbam-setup
    Good luck. See you soon.
