• After Effects CS5 - Keylight 1.2 pipette crashes on me!

  Recently, I worked on an independent project and I created some green screen footage and tried to edit it in After Effects.
  After that I added the effect 1.2 Keylight to my images, I went to the Eyedropper to click on it and then it crashes on me and gives me an error and stops completely After Effects!

  I managed to take a screenshot of the error popup so that way you guys can see for yourselves.

  

  I thought that, maybe, it has the. MP4 video.  So, I converted the video to a .avi file and tried to apply the same Keylight effect again.  Once I clicked on the pipette, it gave me the same message again and stops After Effects.  I thought maybe it was only the video files that cause problems?  So, I thought I tried a green screen image, and the error came again.  Maybe it's the project file?  Nope.  I started a new publication and added in the video in the composition, added tried 1.2, Keylight effect by selecting the pipette and once more... it still gives me the error.

  The problem is not video or image.  It's the Keylight 1.2 pipette that is causing the error.  I thought that, maybe, I need to update my laptop?  Updated, still the same problem.  The next thing I did was trying to find a way to solve this problem online.  I noticed that there is an update for Adobe After Effects CS5 update 10.0.02.  So, I updated to After Effects and restarted my laptop.  When I went back in After Effects and still applied the same effect and when I tried selecting the eyedropper... gives me an error... once again.

  I'm sorry if this sounds a little repetitive, but I wanted to be thorough in my explanation that I can try to find a solution to this problem.  I really need this to work again because I'm working on a very important project.  It's weird, the Keylight 1.2 never gave me any problems in the past.  It works perfectly at the time.  So, why he does not correctly now?

  Let me guess, you use Yosemite or newer on your operating system?

  If so, be aware that CS5.5 and earlier are not supported on this OS, so should have weird bugs.

  That being said, go to your preferences and change the use System Color Picker setting and see if that helps.

  I had been using After Effects CS5 on Windows 10 smoothly for several weeks.  A few days ago I have upgraded to Windows 10 version 1511 (a major update), and now when I launch After Effects, the splash screen is stuck at "Initializing MediaCore."  It never makes it beyond that.  I searched and tried all the troubleshooting methods that I could find.  I have reinstalled QuickTime.  I reinstalled After Effects.  I've updated After Effects.  I have reset and delete the Preferences folder.  I have disabled the firewall.  I rebooted.  I went through the suggested troubleshooting steps.

  Any suggestions or ideas on what could be the problem?  On a perhaps related note, after I updated Windows 10, I had a very strange problem a few times: when I started in Windows, the music started to come out of the speakers.  A little later, I heard static-y voice in speakers.  It was like this by the blue, no Spotify or anything I know.  My laptop picked up somehow radio waves?  Was it a bizarre kind of spyware?  Since then, I scanned with spyware.  Thanks for reading!

  I found the problem after watching Process Monitor from Microsoft.  I had to uninstall Matrox codecs that I had installed quite earlier.  I tried to uninstall/reinstall Quicktime, but failed to remove the Matrox codecs.

  Yes, usable only between the same dynamic link versions products. You can complete rditing and export a first Pro CC and take it to After Effects for further editing, but dynamic linking is not possible in this case.
