  I have a computer of the first order, of the video card, ram, a quad core processor. All other video files work fine, but my camera (insignia HD) exports in .avi, and. MOV, and for one of my images in After Effects, I must therefore use other programs to make the video file to another type of file, which considerably hampers my quality, and I just don't have the time to do. I've seen others on the importation of youtube videos. AVI files but for some reason I can't. I mean I can, but it just appears in the thumbnail under white with green sound waves below and playing anything. becomes very frustrating. Ive looked for answers on google but I can not find. Every thing worked until the day after the effects started to do my much smaller than usual image sequences.  I couldn't find any help to do this, then I restored my computer.  After he did restore After Effects has not been installed.
