After restoring the PC to factory settings because of the Trojan horse, unable to perform desk top applications (bad parameter).

Windows XP in desktop HP 4 years.  After restoring to the original due to trojan settings, downloaded all the XP updates.  Applications always on the C:\ drive.  When to open the control panel: open / remove programs, none of these applications are displayed.  Program listed as "all users" in the icon property.

After recovery, you must reinstall all of the programs that were previously installed using the original media.

A recovery takes the computer to the settings at the start of the computer was first. Even if you have backed up your data, you will need to reinstall the programs such as the tax on the Turbo, Registry Mechanic.

You will also need to install service packs and Windows updates your recovery CD unless has service pack included.

Thank you

Marilyn
