  If you are unable to display the toolbar by choosing View > show/hide > elements elements toolbar, please send along a screenshot of what you see. (And just double check that you open your PDF files in Acrobat and not player - that is a mistake that I make here and there).

  What RAID controller do you use?  I assumes that you use the H710 PERC, which does NOT support non-RAID, so in order for everything to be presented to the operating system, you will first need to configure it in RAID.  If you don't want to use RAID (even as a RAID 0 drive), then you will need get another controller.  PERC H310 supports non-RAID (the other controller for the R720 options make too, but they won't work on Linux).

  I'm having hard to the installation of a second external drive. I use Windows 7 Ultimate RC. There was a WD 1 TB drive My Book already installed - healthy and works very well.   Each player works very well if it's the only drive plugged in. "Eject My Book" does not work because a program (or more) are to use the player in the background (Windows or Norton).

  I installed the latest firmware and I'm still having this problem. I've been emailing WD with this problem and they are running out of ideas.

  During startup in safe mode, the laptop charge only a current drivers and it should be able to see something on the screen.
  But if it is not possible and you are not able to deliver internal display on the screen, then I guess you need to start form the recovery CD and reinstall the OS :(

  It seems that the file format has been corrupted. You might consider formatting the drive in NTFS file system and check if this solves the problem. For Windows 7, the best choice for hard disks is NTFS.

  Note: Make sure that you back up the data before formatting the disk.
