  I recently downloaded aoe 3 games for windows program, see the list also useful with Windows 7.

I ran the esfile auditor and lists some invalid files, I guess it's because they are cracked to work without the cd files. I downloaded the game 3 times now.

  My drivers are all upward to date, research on the internet I can't find a lot of information, a lot of links goto the forums on agecommunity.com but they are no longer works.

  You just buy AoE III but seem to have trouble. It installs ok I have as far as I can tell, but can't get past the splash screen when it comes to playing. I looked in several other threads but none have helped my problem. I realize, the game is a little old and designed for an earlier operating system, but a lot of people claim to have played on Windows 7.

  I already tried to change the compatibility options and install the latest patch that I could find, but none of these have made me past the splash. (It loads the splash screen, aero turns off by itself and then a window opens saying that aoe has stopped working) Also reinstalled once as well.

  Did somebody solve this problem?

  I'm running Windows 7 HP 64 bit and it is AoE III: complete Collection if it matters at all?

  I managed to get this working :D It seemed to be a problem with my hard drives, but it is now resolved, I hope for good.

  Yes, you can install games like age of empires on your windows 7. all you have to do is run the installer in compatibility mode for Windows xp.

  Yes, there is no reason why the drive is not recognized short a faulty drive or defective disc. Your statement in a previous reply that 'the player works with other drives' leads me to believe the former. Sometimes, the discs can be read by another CD/DVD drive. Maybe you can use another computer to copy the contents of the disk (s) on a USB stick and transfer data across like a folder or an ISO.
