  I am new to Adobe. This is my first product. No Adobe product on my machines, other than Adobe Acrobat Reader.

  Tried to install Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac on two different MacBook aluminum - running an OS 10.5 and the other 10.6.

  There is no installation program that runs after you insert the DVD.

  I get an icon on the desktop. By clicking on the icon shows me several files on the drive - including reading Readme that says to install just "follow the instructions on the screen.

  There is a file called "setup" - but when I click it asks for my password. I did not provide the password because it is not just feel it's the right way to install this software.

  Any ideas on how to get the installer to run?

  I was able to overcome this problem by following these steps for Windows 7. First, go to the control panel and uninstall all the programs related to Zoo Tycoon.   Try the following.

  Download the Installer Windows 8.1 IDT Audio on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  When finished, press and hold the Windows key and press R

  In the run window, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.

  In Device Manager, expand sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

  When the reinstallation of Chipset is finished, stop the laptop.
