Aironet 2600 series AP (AIR-CAP2602E) to stand alone

Hello

I bought the AP incorrectly, instead of getting the "Standalone/standalone" version (AIR-SAP2602E), but I bought the controller-based version

(AIR-CAP2602E); My question is that I can use 'ap3g2-k9w7 - tar.152 - 2.JB.tar' too flash to a standalone "Standalone /?

If Yes, can anyone help to POINT me to the "Flashing method" right and necessary things like cable from the console or just "ethernet cable" will do? Enjoy it!

When you download the image, if you hover your mouse over the name of file, a pop up appears with MD5.

I got a 2600 (AIR-CAP2602E-A-K9) and wanted to know if we should use a cisco regulator or can be used as a stand-alone wireless unit AP? Depending on the response, I may have a follow-up question.

    Thank you

I received a 2600 (AIR-CAP2602E-A-K9) and wanted to know if one has to use a cisco Controller unit or can one use the AP as a standalone wireless unit?

The AP can be converted into stand-alone.  Currently, the product ID States that it is running IOS based controller.  To convert offline, read this: you use a server TFTP to return to a previous version

  • Trouble getting a Cisco 2600 series AP to stay connected to WLC 5508

    Hello

I recently loaded the independent our old APs upgrade to LWAPs.  We have a WLC 5508 to our Virtual Co - Lo and I use Flexconnect to accommodate local switch and dhcp on our sites.  I have updated more than 50 APs and joined them to the controller.  These include only the 1130AG and 1240AG models.  However they work perfectly and stay connected to the controller.  I'm having is with a new batch of 2600 series APs stay connected to the controller.  I tried to do research in what may cause disconnect it but have yet to find a solution.  I use DNS to resolve queries for CAPWAP & LWAPP APs to the controller on our EXTENSIVE network.  Read other messages I thought that this is perhaps a problem with packages to drop but have had our provider that manages Sonicwalls at both ends of the WAN confirm for me that there is no packet loss.  Here are the logs that I collected through the puttty of the WLC & AP.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the first time that I work with this type of devices (Cisco Ap 2600 (AIR-CAP2602I-E-K9) and wlc 2500)... my experience to the CCNP (router and Switch)

How configuration Cisco Ap 2600 (AIR-CAP2602I-E-K9) and wlc 2500?

Please find attachment (Cisco device map)

    Hello

Here are the docs for you to configure the Basic for AP switch port configuration IE 2600 s and wlc.

WLC port must be configured as a trunk.

Port of the AP must be access.

CAP2600 series requires software 7.2.110.0 wlc minimum (make sure you have it or above release)

    Upgrade if you follow it.

(Another thing very importand, discovery mechanism, choose properly)

If you choose the option dhcp 43, it uses the TLV format. Type is always f1, the length is 4 * (wlc number for which you want to provide discovery for, in your case) Value = Hex conversion of the wlc management ip address.

  • Only the needs of the Cisco Aironet 1550 series a WLC?

    Hello

Nice day.  I would like to ask if the Cisco Aironet 1550 series requires a controller to run.  Note that the references SKU in this fomat AIR-CAP1552E-A-K9-AIR-CAP1552EU-A-K9.  I noticed that on the autonomous access point there they keyword 'SAP' on its SKU while the controller based has "CAP".  If the

Cisco Aironet 1550 Series needs a controller which controller should it be associated? (e.g. AIR-CT2500)

    Thank you

    It can work stand-alone image:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/partner/docs/wireless/access_point/iOS/release/notes/15.2_2_JB.html#wp355908

    1550 relies on:

    2500, 7500, 5508, WISM2,... .etc

check the release notes of the code controller that you have and you should be able to identify what is supported and what is not supported.

  • I have a (AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9), I can set it up as a stand-alone?

I have a lightweight access point (AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9). I would like to use it as a stand-alone gateway (AIR-AP1131AG-A-K9). Is this possible? There are configuration changes that need to happen to make this happen? Do I need to use different operating system?

    Thank you

Plug the AP directly on your PC not the router.

The best way to proceed is to comfort in the AP and make sure that the

AP can reach the laptop via a switch or a crossover cable

fixing directly from the laptop and the AP.

With your cable from the console, you will be able to see if you pressed on the

    button for 20 seconds.

By using a TFTP server to revert to a previous version

Follow these steps to return standalone by LWAPP mode

Download a version of Cisco IOS using a TFTP server:

Step 1 in the IP address of the computer on which your TFTP server

software should be from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 make sure that the PC contains the image point (for example file

    as c1200-k9w7 - tar.122 - 15.JA.tar for series 1200 point access) in the

The TFTP server folder and the TFTP server is activated. Monitor of the

TFTP program to see the code for transfer to the AP.

Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder

    C1200-k9w7 - tar.default for series 1200 point access,

    C1130-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1130 access point, and

    C1240-k9w7 - tar.default for 1240 series access point.

Step 4 connect the PC AP with a category 5 (CAT5)

Ethernet cable. This must be a crossover cable if connected

to the AP. Or ethernet cable is normal if the AP and laptop are connected

    to a switch.

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access

    point.

Step 7 press and hold the MODE button until the status light turns red

    (about 20-30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait that access point restarts, as attested by all lights

Green followed the status light blinks green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the graphical interface or

    the CLI.

If the image is not download from Server/tftp on your computer, you may need to delete the previous image of tar on the access point of the console:

Simply hold the mode button until the light is red.

Then, by using the console port, make sure that the guest is AP: and do a show «»

"Flash:" on the device and make sure that there is no image that begins

"c1130-rcvk9w8-tar..." ». If there is an image that starts with who then

    Delete it with "delete flash:

  • Quality of the Air on AIR-CAP2602I

    Hi all

just a quick, AIR-CAP2602I supports the full-fledged clean characteristic air?

any good links/blog out there on how to enable it and its air pure vs comparison explicit?

    How to activate this

    Wireless > 802. 11a / g > CleanAir > under CleanAir settings, check "enabled."

his air pure vs express comparison

CleanAir Express is only access point "1 K" models, i. e.  1600, 1700, 1800.  The difference between CleanAir and CleanAir Express is a dedicated "chip" for the 2Ks & 3Ks CleanAir.  CleanAir Express does not have this chip for all CleanAir function is made by the CPU of the APs.

To be able to accomplish this together the local drive to 'any Configuration' policy this way UCSM won't overwrite the current raid on the server configuration.

  • Value in BTU AIR-CAP2602E

Hello, I am looking for the AIR-CAP2602E BTU value. I can't find it in the sheet.

The amount of heat generated is a function of the amount of energy used.  The 2602 uses up to 12.95W which translated to 44.2 BTU.  If you clear one or both, radios, I would expect this number considerably.
