Aironet 3500i

No one knows how many simultaneous users each 3500i can support?

Hey Kevin,

It is more a question of sales! Ok.. AS FAR AS I KNOW... Because the CAP3500i is a thing of 32 MB... There is no limit to the AP by... However, we can go for 200 associations by radio... This can give taken 400 G and a radio in detail... Here is the link as well...

  • Cisco Aironet SAP1602E - changing open to WPA - PSK access remote (RAP and map)

I currently have a deployment of Cisco Aironet SAP1602E Wireless point to point bridge (bridge using RAP and card, root wireless and Non-Root Bridge) to expand a layer 2 VLAN from one building to the other. It currently operates uisng open authentication and encryption - and is administered remotely via the bridge of root, to get wireless (manage) the bridge Non-Root - RAP wireless remote.

Try to configure the PSK WPA2-PSK remotely via the GUI or CLI - first setup - I informed a similar error to her below indicating that:

Error: Key-management WPA is requried for WPA-PSK
Read around, it seems, there is a configuration-control problem, and that I need to specify the mode as WPA2-PSK first, before then being able to specify the PSK there instead of using. However, as soon as this mode is specified on RAP, my remote administration is broken - as probably the RAP try to use WPA2-PSK to look for a PSK, which has not yet been configured. Am I missing something obvious here, or is the order of operations of CLI (1] convert to WPA - PSK; (2] shared secret to apply PSK) as a migration from open to WPA2-PSK cannot be configured remotely (short of preparation of a startup-config; TFTPing presents more; and issuance of a 'reload' remote control)? Can someone please enlighten me as to what the logic is here - no doubt I should be able to specify a PSK first (fo without worrying if I use WPA, WPA2 or other), and then be able to specify that I want as the layer of encryption (WPA) to make use of this pre-parameter PSK? If it was a router, you don't can me to add something to the authentication key chain OSPF; before clarifying its use - why so different Aironet Wireless IOS?

You're right, and because you will have to enter several lines of configuration to switch to WPA2-PSK with AES didn't really matter; the AP would reset the radio anyway because you make changes related to the radio interface. It would be very useful that if Cisco router/switch IOS 'macro' feature available AP thus in changes like this, unfortunately this is not the case.

Start with the nonroot AP and make sure that the following lines are added to your configuration. If you add by the console, the order must be like that, do it by downloading a new configuration of booting with tftp, that it does not matter.

    interface Dot11Radio0
encryption ciphers aes - ccm mode

    SSID dot11 TEST
    authentication wpa key management
    WPA - psk ascii 0

  • Defining a 1852nd Aironet AP - Radio Off - Cisco IOS 12.3 (4) JA

I have a brand new Cisco Aironet 1800 AP series I'm trying to install. Specifically the 1852E. I do not have a controller and try to use the method of deployment of mobility Express. When I received the unit there is a yellow label more precisely declaring outside: "OFF BY DEFAULT note RADIOS: radios are disabled by default for Cisco IOS releases 12.3 (4) JA and later.

If anyone can please tell me how I am supposed to this access point configuration when the radios are not suite, so the CiscoAirProvision SSID is not broadcast?

    I tried the following:

1 connect the unit to my PoE switch. Unit Gets power and discovery mode starts (red/orange/green light cycling). He succeeded receives an IP address from my DHCP.

    2. when I try to access the device through my laptop via the local LAN it just times out. Pings meet.

I apologize if my post seems harsh, I am quite agitated that even after having spent more than 5 hours trying to troubleshoot and get this thing to work, there was nothing else than a nightmare (both for the installation of touted 10 min). I do RTFM. I missed something simple jumps? or am I just to assume that Cisco has really missed the boat the patch appropriate for an assignment in their literature.

FOR INFO. Thorough searches Google and research on this forum gave me no help.

    Thank you.

  • Could turn off the light of State Aironet 1130?

We had an Aironet must installed on darkroom but its status LED continues to blink. We could turn off the LED set up? As I knew that this access point can be set continuously flashing the LED State.

There is no way I know to turn off the leds. The only hidden command is one that allows their flashing of the cli and change the duration of each, but it won't stop them. Insulating on the leds tape is probably your only option.

  • Point of access Cisco Aironet 1200 series help

We have 4 Cisco Aironet 1200 Access Points and they are all set to authenticate with our RADIUS server. However, authentication is hooked and can't understand why. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with Cisco Aironet 1200 Access Points configuration?

OK, I do not work with the GUI so although the memory is a little hazy but from the APs home page look on the left hand side and there is an option for something like "Software Setup" or something to that effect. You should be able to find the IOS version of here. This requires that you are indeed runnig IOS code. How old are these APs? If more than a few years ago (and perhaps even more recent) that they could very well be running VxWorks and then we are in a different ball game. If you see what I have described above and the homepage for the AP is often white with a bit of greenish-blue, bluish-green color then IOS, if it is more colorful, yellow stuff and VxWOrks.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything that anyone else. I will try to answer as soon as POSSIBLE.

  • Aironet 1200 and MAC authentication

    Hi all

I Aironet 1210 and you want to implement the authentication MAC without ACS.

Now, I know that any AP Aironet can allow authentication MAC se store the list of MAC addresses.

    So after the command:

    TestAP (config-if-ssid) #authentication open mac

TestAP (config-if-ssid) #authentication open mac address?

WORD mac address list (1-31 characters) name

There is no way I can list all MAC addresses in the list. I use IOS Version 12.2 (13) JA3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Samuel Wilson

If you do not have a RADIUS server on your network, you can create a list of MAC addresses allowed on advanced security of access point: MAC address authentication page. Devices with not on the list of MAC addresses are not allowed to authenticate.

I use the GUI to make a list:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/wireless/ps4570/products_configuration_example09186a00801c0912.shtml

The link above is to use the local capacity of GANYMEDE to the AP, but if you select the option "Advanced Security" on the right side of the web interface, it will take you to the page where you can create your list of mac addresses.

The CLI is available, the following command:

  • WAP321 & 2602e Aironet wireless 2504 controller?

    Hello

I am new to Cisco network. I am currently in an environment with no controller wireless and wifi uses two WAP321 Cisco.  The company wants to expand the wireless and bought a Cisco 2504 wireless controller and a controller of Cisco Aironet 2602e WAP.  My question is when we will start using the controller can he control the WAP321 formerly controller - less or will be replaced by a different Cisco Aironet 2602e?  Thank you.

My question is once we start using the controller can it control the formerly controller-less WAP321's

WLC 2504 will not support AP321s.  Talk to your dealer of Cisco and see if they accept if you want to trade the AP321 for the AP 2602.

Make sure that your AP 2602 have the appropriate regulatory domain.  If you are not sure, DO NOT open the boxes.

    For more information, go here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5679/ps5861/product_data_sheet0900aecd80537b6a_ps10981_Products_Data_Sheet.html

Another thing, for AP 2600, your 2504 should have the minimum firmware of 7.2.110.X.  IF you do not, then talk to the Cisco authorized dealer who sold you the controller and kindly ask (nicely) if they can download the firmware for you.

    Hi Olivier,.

First off you're welcome :) This method really works without the need for a WLC, be patient. Check the address static IP put you on your TFTP (* range 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30)

Rename the access point image file in the folder of the server TFTP c1200-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1200 access point

Looks like a problem TFTP (no firewall on your PC?)

    Take a look at the details in the following threads that each has to do with TFTP. There are some great tips to troubleshoot TFTP some of my NetPros favorite ScottMac, Cisco's Stephen and Jack Young. The likely culprit may be you need to uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" on your server TFTP;
