Alert customization

Hello

Is it possible to modify the templates to alert the Foglight system sends?

We have a system that sends alerts by e-mail as text messages. Unfortunately, the system is able to use the GSM character set. The Foglight system sends alerts with the symbol 'Saved' after the word Foglight.

I would like to be able to remove the alert of this character models so that the system can work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Concerning

Hi Paul

My memory is not as bad as I thought - this is the confirmation of the SR:

Unfortunately at the moment the subject or body of the e-mail notification cannot be changed.

Another client has raised this as a request for development on our site for ideas. Here is the link:

However, considering that Dell have said they will develop is more NMS, I doubt the idea of voting allows you to get anywhere

  • Customization of the emailing of the alerts based on a specific group of servers?

    Hello

    I'm wondering how to set up electronic mail based on a specific service of Foglight? For example, I know that I can put "SYSADMIN" to an e-mail address and it becomes the email address golbal all alerts are sent to.

    What I want to do, is keep global electronic mail as address, but take a few exclusions and have another set of servers to a diffferent e-mail address e-mail.

    In this example I am using services that I created my groupings. For example, I have a FSM Service called "DHCP servers" I want alll alerts for servers in this group to go to another email address that defined globally in the sysadmin variable e-mail address.

    Here's what I've tried, but alerts are not sent to "[email protected]".

    How to achieve this?

    Thank you

    Tony

    Hello Tony

    This can be done with a service (as far as I know), but my requirements were much simpler.  I had three machines CRM and CRM team wanted to know when CRM Windows services had problems.

    At the end of the day, I used two - general rule of 'The host Services' and a specific rule of 'Hosting CRM Services' rules.

    My "Host Services CRM" rule has the following in the rule definition:

    HostService where monitoredHost.name = "crm1.mycompany.com" or monitoredHost.name = "crmapp01.mycompany.com" or monitoredHost.name = "crmapp02.mycompany.com".

    There is a variable in the Conditions tab, alarms & Actions for registry ("NewAddress").  In the registry, "NewAddress" is essentially "SYSADMIN" from the e-mail address for the CRM team.

    To avoid duplicate emails, 'Host Services' rule has the following in the definition of the rule to exclude CRM systems:

    HostService where monitoredHost.name! = "crm1.mycompany.com" and monitoredHost.name! = "crmapp01.mycompany.com" and monitoredHost.name! = "crmapp02.mycompany.com".

    I'm sure (but does not ) that you can change monitoredHost.name to something like service. Name it extended to a service.  Obviously, it would be preferable to application domain service so that you don't have that one place to update unlike me, but my customizations refer only to three systems with two rules, so it's easy to keep up-to-date.

    I hope this helps for you an overview on how to attempt it.

  • Customization of email alert notifications

    I was asked to change the verbiage of the e-mail alert notifications.  Is this possible?

    For example, we are currently receiving the following when the availability of a server changes:

    Subject: [HQ]! -[name of alert] [resource name]

    Message:
    [resource name] has generated the following alert:
    [name of alert] [resource name] Availability (0.0%)

    ----------------------------------------------------------
    RETAIL ALERT
    -Name of the resource
    -Name alert
    -Description alert
    -To attract the attention of Date / time
    -One or more trigger conditions
    -Alert severity

    Final metric indicator collected

    Can it be replaced by a message personalized, such as

    Subject: Database server has changed the availability status

    Message:
    Availability on the database server changed (0.0%).  Please review and, if necessary, log a ticket: [internal help desk URL]

    ?  Thank you

    Yes, it is possible. There are some documents to http://support.hyperic.com/display/DOC/Tailoring+Alert+Notification+Templates

  • Customize the Alert popup

    Hello Flexers

    The following works by changing some of the properties of the alert

    < mx:Style >

    {Alert
    backgroundColor: yellow;
    color: Blue;
    cornerRadius: 10;
    headerHeight: 30;
    shadowDistance: 5;
    highlightAlphas: 0,0;
    headerColors: white, red.
    fontSize: 13;
    fontFamily: Georgia;
    }

    < / mx:Style >

    Please advise on the following:

    (1) fontFamily: Comic without MS. don't give me the police, than I expected. Flex does it take?
    (2) the yellow background color looks good, but I could not get rid of the default gray border. How can I activate the whole backgroud in the color I want?
    (3) can I increase the margin between the button and the border? The default margin was too narrow.

    Look forward to hearing of your part I have Fung

    Try this:

    {Alert
    backgroundColor: yellow;
    color: Blue;
    cornerRadius: 10;
    headerHeight: 30;
    shadowDistance: 5;
    highlightAlphas: 0,0;
    headerColors: white, red.
    fontSize: 13;
    fontFamily: Georgia;
    message-style-name: "messageStyle;
    border-thickness: 0.
    padding-bottom: 10;
    }

    {.messageStyle}
    fontFamily: "Comic Sans MS";
    }

    The message-style-name allows you to set properties of text for your alert message. You can set the fontFamily, fontSize, color etc.

    The border-thickness set to 0 will remove the grey border by default. Or you can set the border color, change the color to something that matches your yellow background.

    The padding-bottom property will increase the margin between the alert buttons and the bottom of the container. Similarly, padding-top will increase the margin above the alert text.

    I hope this helps.

    I studied the adrci, but can't find a command to do

    Thank you

    In docs you say it:

    Controlling the size of the Trace files
    You can control the maximum size of all trace (with the exception of the alert log) files using the
    initialization parameter MAX_DUMP_FILE_SIZE, which limits the specified file
    number of operating system blocks. To control the size of a log of alerts, you must
    Delete the file manually when you no longer need. Otherwise, the database continues
    to add to the file.
    You can safely remove the alert log while the instance is running, although you should
    Consider making an archived copy of it first. This archived copy could be invaluable
    If you should have a future problem that requires an investigation into the story of one
    instance.

    Hello

    Is there a way to disable alerts based on calendar in the calendars on iOS 9?  I would like to disable alerts from home on my iPhone, but yet to receive for the work schedule.

    This used to be possible in the iOS 8 by clicking on calendars to display a list of all calendars, tapping the Red I beside work or home and then scroll to the option for Notifications-> alerts of event with a toggle switch.  It no longer appears in iOS 9 and Notification Centre options seems to be all or nothing.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello rechape,

    Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

    I understand your message that you want to disable notifications for each calendar, but cannot locate this iOS settings 9. I, too, like customize my notifications for calendars. Here's what I recommend:

    1. to turn off notifications for a specific calendar, press the calendar application.

    2. tap on that Word calendars located downstairs at the center of the page.

    3. scroll down to the section iCloud and Red tap I in a circle to the right of the calendar you want to disable notifications for.

    4. scroll down to the Notifications section and slide the switch to the right of the event alerts.

  • Updated for Firefox 36.0 now get Windows Security Alert

    Hello

    Updated for firefox 36.0 24/02/15
    Now to get a Windows security alert
    Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this program.
    Name: Firefox
    Publisher: Mozilla Corporation
    Path: C:\program files (x 86) \mozilla firefox\firefox.exe
    Private networks is enabled and grayed out.
    Public networks box is not checked and ask to allow access.

    When I look at the programs allowed through firewall it shows Firefox 2 programs.
    Firefox---(la case est décochée)
    Firefox C:\program files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox)---(case cochée)

    Also on 24/02/15
    There are updates Windows 7 and an update of definition of MSE.

    When I started the computer 25/02/15 the Windows security alert appeared.

    I have not allowed access to Windows Security Alert window.

    Why this security alert Windows has been published?

    The Windows security alert is the only issue.
    Firefox works normally. He never does not.
    I have internet access on my private network.

    I use Classic theme restaurateur.
    What's interesting after clicking on menu + customize, I moved the icon Hello in the box additional tools and features.

    When updating to 36.0 FF
    Hello icon brought itself automatically.

    I just clicked Cancel on the dialog box and the Windows security alert went away.
    Everything that Firefox still seems to work fine.

    If she comes back, I will inform this thread.

    Thanks,

  • Change the default alert of the calendar 'Message with sound '.

    With the help of Yosemite and schedule 8, all my alerts, I set always with a sound. In OS X past systems, I could set the application to that default, but not in Yosemite.

    Is there a trick to change this default to have the alert go with a sound, instead of the repeated need to go into "Customize...". ">"message with sound?

  • How can I customize Firefox to remove the function where the gray browser window in order to highlight a question box?

    Since I upgraded to Firefox 3 (as I waited if long to do because I could not customize the Firefox of the way I wanted) to Firefox 14.0.1, I had a problem.

    I guess one of the sites I visit to try to emulate Windows, where the background turns gray when he wants that focus you on an area of response. So when I'm on a courier website third (Inbox.com) and delete a message when the message box appears to ask me if I really want to delete the message, the background turns gray while the answer box. It never happened on this site when I used Firefox 3, and I would like to avoid this.

    I tried to handle this with an add-on (Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus), but it doesn't allow me to select the gray part of the screen, the way in which this is the case not requested "pop-ups".

    Y at - it a Firefox setting or an add-on that I can use to keep the background to become "grayed out"?

    Thank you

    You can set the pref prompts.tab_modal.enabled false on the topic: config to return to the alert style former and prompt pop ups, but it crashes Firefox too long this popup is open. Modal windows are specific tab and do not block the user interface.

  • The appearance of Javascript alerts is editable in Firefox 4.0?

    Firefox 4.0 allows users to do a lot of customization, which is great. This extends to the appearance of Javascript alerts?

    Unlike Firefox 3.6, in version 4.0 when an alert appears, the underlying web page is blackened, half opaque and half transparent. This attracts the attention of the user on the alert box. Is it possible for me to change this parameter in order to be opaque, 20% 80% transparent? This would make it easier for me to see what the alert is trying to talk to me about the underlying web page.

    You can use the code in Stylish or add code to userChrome.css below @namespace to change the background color and transparency.

    A few examples (first is the current default value; Use only one):

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    tabmodalprompt { background-color: rgba(25, 25, 25, 0.5) !important; }
    tabmodalprompt { background-color: rgba(224, 224, 224, 0.1) !important; }
    tabmodalprompt { background-color: transparent !important; }

    Hello

    You are running a very old version of SANHQ.   The current version is v3.2.

    The first error is quite simple, it seems that the incorrect IP address was used to add to this group.   What the dedicated management interface configured once it has been added to SANHQ?

    The 2nd error could be a connectivity issue, old SANHQ, old EQL FW or table was very busy at the time.  It could also be linked to the incorrect configuration error if errors refer to the same group.

    What a picture of model and firmware currently running?

    Kind regards

  • In a tool such as Foglight events about APM-driven alerts

    Hi all

    Our company is currently having an internal debate whether Foglight can replace IBM Netcool Omnibus.  I had a conference call with Gartner last week to discuss the surveillance as a whole and one gentlemen on the phone said that "Foglight can replace Omnibus' which has left me a bit confused because I know that we have had these discussions with Dell, who said that they are not a replacement for Netcool Omnibus. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and I couldn't get their probe on this statement.

    We currently use the functionality of Netcool Omnibus in 5 ways that are:

    Event command line injection

    There is a binary called postzmsg which is drawn from the command line with parameters that contain the severity, summary, on call group and so on.

    Syslog monitoring
    Omnibus has a probe called syslog that we use for monitoring Oracle database log files and trigger events in Omnibus if specific events are found in the newspaper.  This is done in real time.

    SNMP traps
    Omnibus currently listening to breaks SNMP of some of our products like CA Autosys and cypress trees of the ASG.

    E-mail

    Omnibus was an electronic probe that monitors a specific e-mail (Google) for specifically formatted e-mail account and then turns them into an Omnibus event.  We use usually this method as a last resort because it is dependent on the e-mail.

    Automation of self-correction
    Omnibus contains what is called "Actions".  We can search for specific events, and then take corrective action with Automation in Omnibus to fix what caused the event. An example of this would be with our product CA Autosys.  Omnibus search specifically for events 'pulse' every 5 minutes. These heartbeats are sent directly by a job in Autosys which in turn proves Autosys is running.  If Omnibus does not see the heart beat, she considers as inactive Autosys and run scripts which then try to restart Autosys save.  Omnibus then reports if this attempt succeeded or failed and worsens the severity according to its conclusions.

    Please keep in mind that all of these methods are with an event-driven approach rather than a performance-based approach.

    I really need to have a clear picture on whether and how the Foglight can cope with the event focused on issues.

    I asked Dell technical support who said the follow-up:

    You may be able to use a script agent to meet your needs. The script agent could return data to the FMS and you could have a rule that fires based on the data returned.You would be responsible to creating the script used by the agent. There is a "Builiding Script Agents" section under the "Customizing Your Environment with Tooling | Building Script Agents" in the Foglight Administration and Configuration guide.

    Has anyone had experience with this? What was the result? Do you use today? Advantages vs disadvantages?

    If anyone has the source code example that it would be really appreciated! I am also very interested in hearing other thoughts which have Foglight and another tool such as Omnibus or other tools and how they use with Foglight or if they withdrew these tools after having long Foglight.

    Thanks to you all! Looking forward to your answers!

    Larry Roberts

    Larry,

    Foglight can be configured to monitor the applications where an out of the box cartridge (module) was not developed and delivered with the product. There are several ways to customize Foglight.

    Event command line injection

    Looks like you want to send alarms foglight via a command line program. It is feasible because there are available with Foglight APIs to create alarms.

    Syslog monitoring

    Foglight monitoring logs with the logfilter agent. You can set the strings that need to be searched (when a log file is updated by your applications), then specify the corresponding string (based on regular expressions) is a warning, critcal or a fatal alert.

    For monitoring of log files from the database, which is available with the cartridges of the database (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Sybase) delivered with Foglight.

    SNMP traps

    Foglight can receive (out of the box) SNMP traps and convert them to Foglight alarms.

    E-mail

    I study further on this request. Basically, it takes an e-mail player that puts the emails in a log file that will read the Foglight LogFilter agent and search for error conditions.

    Automation of self-correction Foglight rules have actions that can be performed in the cases where the rule detects specific conditions as the processor high as a basic example and then run the scripts commands, scripts remotely, send SNMP traps, invoke a JavaEE trace, etc. A custom agent could be developed to run your heartbeat AutoSys and then search for an answer to a file or stdout and update a Foglight table that is being tested in a rule.
