Where is the HDD on Satellite 1130?

Where is the hard drive on a Satellite 1130?

Hello

If I m remembering well HARD drive must be placed under the optical disk drive. To access HARD drive please follow:

-Disconnect portable AC
-Turn the computer
-Remove the battery
-Remove the two black screws in the region half a centimeter above the back of the optical media drive (screw secures the optical drive in place)
-Remove the drive from the Bay optical media
-Remove the four black screws that attach the HARD drive
-Pull on the HARD drive

Please be careful how you do it and you lose no screws.

Good luck!

How to replace the hard drive in this notebook?

    Hello

If I remember well HDD is under the optical media drive. Optical media drive is fixed with a screw that you see above the player. Remove the screw and remove the drive from the Bay.

HARD drive is fixed, I think, 4 screws (probably black). When the screws are removed you can use two fingers to remove the HDD from the connector plug. I hope you now know how to put the new HARD drive.

  • How do I use the recovery folder on the HDD repair Satellite A300

    Hi all

I have Toshiba satellite A300, model No. PSAGCE-00C006AR,.

My operating system is windows Vista Home premium.
Recently, I was working on battery when my system is closed.

When I connected charger and power he found that the display shows the message (Please wait) forever and does not allow me to enter my password.
When I press the power button to shut down my PC and reboot in safe mode, I can enter my password and connect to my PC, and however, when I connect to the PC shows only black screen with pointer and nothing more.
Start button does not respond, the icon my computer or all other icons do not appear on the desktop.

I did the following steps in trying to repair my PC: -.

1 I restarted my PC in safe mode with command prompt, you try to run chkdsk/r, however I got the error message that the disk is protected and that I can demand that it runs at the next reboot. I typed Y and restart, but chkdsk does not work although I restarted 2 times.
2 I restarted my PC and select advanced option then startup repair problem, then I got the message that no problem was found.
3 I also tried Toshiba HDD recovery, but could not find any folder recovery although there is about 1.5 GB partition that has everything.
4 I tried the windows complete PC Restore, but I received a message that (a valid backup not found)
5 that my PC is come without recovery CD, so I borrowed an and restart my PC from the CD and repair selected... etc, however I got the error message that the disk is write-protected once again.

Any advice how I can get my rear work system will be appreciated and how do I use the recovery folder on the HARD disk and avoid the write-protected message?

    Hello

Of course I don't know what the problem is exactly, but I'm confused on a few other facts.
The fact is that Toshiba has created the reminder that informs the user on the first day that Toshiba doesn't offer the recovery DVDs and it is recommended to create such a DVD support immediately.

Question about you: you created this recovery media?

The Toshiba recovery image has nothing to do with the WinRE Vista 1.5 GB partition. Partition WinRE Vista feature. On new models of laptops Toshiba recovery image is saved in folder HDDRecovery on the second partition. If touch you didn t and if you didn t change anything with partitions you should be able to install Vista using this recovery image.

After your computer is turned on press F8 and choose the first option (if available) computer repair. You can enter the Vista System Recovery Options. The last option should be Toshiba Recovery. If you didn t change anything, this option will be available.

    Check it out!

  • Re: Hitachi Drive Fitness Test (DFT) does not detect the HDD on Satellite A660

I have a Toshiba Satellite A660 PSAW3C-047017 with a HARD MK6465GSX Toshiba drive. After experience, some consecutive failures of start-up, I was told on the Toshiba forums to use Drive Fitness Test (DFT of Hitachi).

I burned the ISO to a CD and booted from it (I must press F12 for boot options and select the optical drive), which is to run successfully. However, it does not detect my drive HARD - the list is empty.

Is there something I need to do to make visit to DFT?

I cannot commend this third part software features, but I want to know if you still have these failures to start your portable computer satellite?

    What's the problem?

  • It seems to have wiped the HDD on Satellite C870

My phone ran well so decided to restore.
Got the option of erasing... and so I did as I thought that meant back to factory settings

Now... nothing. I did the good recovery disc where it was after a move I have no idea!
On start-up, I get ' Checkign Media: fail.

I know that I can order a new disc... goal of recovery is £30 and I need to know if that will restore my phone or if I did more damage.

Actually seems a ridiculous being there, option but it is and I can't do something.

Please help and advise, it's a disc or a repair to the costly computer store.

Best solution for you is to order the original Toshiba recovery disc. This disc contains original recovery image designed for your laptop model. Recovery image is the operating system that includes all of the drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utilities.
After using this disk, you will have original as first boot settings after the purchase.

OK it's a bit chilly but it is cheaper than the original disc of Microsoft and after recovery image installation will be installed and it is not necessary to install important drivers. Everything will be perfectly configured.

  • Installation problems after upgrade the HDD on Satellite Pro A120 (PSAC1E)

    Hello

I've recently updated my Satellite Pro A120 with more memory and a larger hard drive. The memory I installed is 2 x 1 GB Module (DDR2-667) and the product number of the hard drive is MK2035GSS.

My computer recognizes both of these upgradges, but since their installation I was able to install all applications (for example Norton Security etc) on my laptop - they seem to spend 1/2 to 3/4 of the way in which the installation process and then just quit smoking and become insensitive or an error message appears. I even tried to put the product recovery disc to try and erase everything and start over but even that does not load in entirely. Any ideas of what could be the cause? Also, I get messages of constant error on the screen and it blue screens and restarts frequently.

If anyone has any ideas on what could be the cause, I would be extremely grateful for any help!

    Thank you very much

    Hello

just a question, than to the manufacturer that are the memory modules? And similar modules? Or do you have that you have installed other modules later.
We can exclude the HARD drive because it doesn´t HARD drive installed. they do not cause bluescreens or similar. In very rare cases, the disk HARD COULD cause errors, but then the pladder or BSOD´s must be REALLY damaged and in your case, the HARD drive is brand new.

It might be, that memory modules are not compatible with your machine. To avoid these incompatibility issues, you must use the modules of well-known such as kingston and toshiba brands. (I'd rather kingston, they work like a charm in my A100 Sat :))

Would appreciate comments on your part.

    See you soon

  • Where is the BIOS for Satellite M40?

    Hello

I searched for the M40 BIOS without success. When I select the Satellite/M series offers only the M100 and M70. Can anyone give me a tip?

    Thank you
    Mickey

    Hello

Satellite M40 is a little older and so you should search in * Archives *.

    For example:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers
    * Archive * > Satellite > Satellite M Series > Satellite M40 (xxxx)

Then you select the right model number. If you n t he know to look on the underside of the laptop. There should be a label with the correct information.

  • I want to move the HDD on Satellite L10

    Hello

I'm new to the forum, I bought a satellite l10 two years ago and was looking at my hard drive upgrade, glancing accessories toshiba advises that I have to buy an external hard drive, but this simply means that some additional items to carry, can someone advise or help me

    Hello

Of course you can upgrade the HARD drive.
If you want to upgrade the HARD drive, you must buy one that is compatible and supported by the BIOS.
Each HARD drive size is unsupported by the BIOS. There is a limitation and big hard drives could not be recognized.
Sat L10 supports an improved IDE (ATA-6) interface and some devices were shipped with 40 GB HARD drive.

In my view, that a 60 GB HARD drive should be compatible. Perhaps also a 80 GB HARD drive but I m not 100% sure of this size of HARD drive.

If you want you can test.

    Hi guys.

Does anyone know where I can buy a hard drive for the laptop above to reinstall complete

Current hard drive is officially dead!

    Concerning

    Paul

    Hello

I found some info on the HDD on Satellite P10:

    It can be used a 2.5 ", 9.5 mm hard disk with capacity of 30 GB / 40 GB / 60 GB / 80 GB

    -Master - IDE bus
-9.5 mm, 2.5 HARD drive carrier
    -Support synchronous Ultra DMA 100

So for your laptop you can buy IDE HDD up to 80 GB of capacity.

I think you can buy it everywhere. In PC Magazine, online electronic store, eBay...

I have download the proper file, but saves it as tw30170w.rom. How do I run it? Windows does not recognize it.

    Brian

    Hello
I would try it with the traditional Biosupdate.

    Download bios here-> http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

Watch "Support & downloads", click on "Download Bios" a choose your model

    How to upgrade the BIOS

    Satellite 1130

1.) extracted the zip file containing the BIOS upgrade to a temporary folder.
2.) insert a 1.44 MB diskette formatted in the floppy drive.
3.) Execute the file *.exe extracted to the temporary folder. Follow the instructions on the screen. A BIOS update diskette will be generated.
4.), make sure that the laptop is plugged into the sector.
    5.) turn off the laptop.
6.) place the floppy disk containing the BIOS upgrade in the floppy drive.
7.) turn on the laptop with the F12 key.
8.) the BIOS boot menu appears. Select 'Removable Device', 'USB Floppy Drive' or the diskette symbol using arrow keys. Press "enter".
9.) the Notebook will start from the BIOS upgrade diskette.
10.) the BIOS update will start automatically.
11.) after a few minutes the laptop turns off automatically, remove the disk and do a restart. If it does not then remove the disk and turn off the system and return to restart the laptop.
