Alienware 17 r2 (2015) m2 size + compatibility

Hello, I just ordered my laptop and he will receive in a few weeks.  I'm looking to put some ssd m2 in when he comes along and tries to install USB recovery.  Basically:

Does anyone know what size 80mm? M2 ssd takes this thing.

Someone has a list of examples of compatible.

Anyone successfully boots from the once installed ssd?

If it does not seem that this will be an option, I will just go on the road to Sata single ssd 2.5, but would be nice to be able to install some readers m2.

Thank you for your time,

Lorenzo

22 x 80 x 2.4 mm are the size of my Samsung PM851 supplied with the machine. The actual data sheet is available in the this link. The model of my machine is MZNTE128HMGR. Compatibility is still unknown other than what Dell ships as many users will are not upgraded to the SSD M.2 immediately.

  • How to re-install first CC 2015.2 Speedgrade compatibility?

I know since the release of CC 2015.3 there were other frustrated by not being able to use Speedgrade.  Not only no longer be able to use it, but not being able to work in or export older projects.  I'm one of those people.  I saw in the forums that others have understood how to return to an earlier version of first, which is compatible with Speedgrade.  Can someone please send the simple steps to get there?

Open creative cloud and click applications, scroll down to find additional Apps and click on applications (highlighted in blue). When the drop down menu opens, choose the view previous versions.

  • Increase the huge file size.

So I've recently updated for first Pro CC 2015.3. I was doing a video which is 40 seconds long. The only thing in the video is the text and music. I exported using the same setting that I used in first Pro CC 2015. With first Pro CC 2015 the size of the file is usually around 200 MB. With first Pro CC 2015.3, the file size was 4.7 GB. I was wondering if there is anyway to make it back to what it was before. Thank you!

File size is determined by length, bitrate, and only two things.

If you want a smaller file, you'll need a shorter program, or a lower rate.

  • When lowering pixels of resolution of a video, the file size becomes smaller...

    Hello!

    My question is this:

    I am importing a tiff of scope (2048 X 858) 2K sequence in Premiere Pro CC 2015.

When I go to the export section, as you can see in this video link:

First Pro CC 2015 (resolution size) export settings - YouTube

and try to lower the resolution 2048 X 858, 5 X 2 or 854 X 480 or 1280 X 536! the size of the file remains the same! Is this possible?

This means that if I have a 4K video and a video card, they will have exactly the same file size!

I tried to make a sequence of low resolution and drop tiff sequence and adjustment of the sequence in the image of low resolution tiff, but I have the same problem.

I've even nested sequence of high-resolution sequence of lower resolution, but... Nothing...

Does this make sense? What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you!

    Yiannis

Yiannis, Yes. Unlike a photo, a video, the file size is determined by the data rate. However, the data/flow isn't what determines quality, you need to consider in the codec you use.

For example, a 50 Mbit/s, 720 x 480 H.264 file and a 50 Mbps DV (video only, forgetting the audio codecs) will be exactly the same size. but the H.264 file is going to be better because it's a step more coded with a better compression algorithm.

Another factor that determines the size of the file is the frame rate. I'm not saying that you should drop your rate to save space, but know that if you save 2 files with the same exact settings, but we're 30 p or 25 p and the other is 50 p or 60 p, then the latter will be twice as large.

  • HP Pavilion 15-p263nl: 2nd HARD drive cart, replace the optical drive for HP Pavilion p263nl 15 Notebook PC & Windows 10

    Hi all!

I intend to add an SSD for my HP Pavilion p263nl-15 Notebook PC. I found some sites that I can remove the optical drive and put a second drive using a caddy adapter in the optical drive Bay. I found that some people on the forum did it successfully, but nothing on my PC model. I want to know if he could work with my product.

In other words, there is my plan:

1 remove the real disk HDD hard bay and replace it with the new SSD.

    2. remove the optical drive and replace it with the adapter caddy containing my old HDD.

    3. do a clean install of Windows 10 on the SSD using a USB key recovery made with my real Windows 10 system (which has been updated from Windows 8.1 July 2016).

I already have a 120 GB OCZ SSD (OCZ Vertex 3).

I have a few questions before buying the adapter:

1 - the two drives (my old HDD and the new SSD) are recognized by the motherboard / BIOS and the operating system (Windows, 10)? Is there a limit to a unique HARD/SSD disk drive on the computer?

2 should. What size the card be? I found offers for 9.5 mm and 12.7 mm that are supposed to be suitable for HP Pavilion in general

3 - these parts work together and with my computer (size, compatibility)? You can expect any problems with this upgrade?

4 - clean install Windows 10 quote, because I intend to install it on a different drive than the one I used to create the key USB recovery flash? I have never done a clean install of Windows before.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Alessandro

p.s. in this section of the forum (where I took most of the post), the solution worked almost perfectly, but it's a different product of the Pavilion 15 ^^

    Hello

    1. Yes,

    2. your machines use 9.5 mm SATA Tray,

3 problem? I can't answer this question because who knows nothing until the track.

    4. I don't know how you create USB recovery but a good new installation should work.

    Kind regards.

  • HP Pavilion 15-e073ca: 2nd HARD drive cart, replace the optical drive for HP Pavilion e073ca 15 Notebook PC & Windows 10

    Hello!

I intend to add an SSD in my two years 15-e073ca HP Pavilion Notebook PC. I found some sites that I can remove the optical drive and put a second drive using a caddy adapter in the optical drive Bay. I found that some people on the forum did it successfully, but nothing on my PC model. I want to know if he could work with my product.

    2. remove the optical drive and replace it with the adapter caddy containing my old HDD.

    3. do a clean install of Windows 10 on the SSD, using a recovery USB stick made with my system Windows 10 real (which has been updated from Windows 8.1).

I plan to purchase the following parts:

    1 - a HDD / SSD cart adapter for HP Pavilion 15 (model OBHD9-SATA-SATA-BU9), of NewmodeUS (http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=583)

    2 - a SSD 128 GB (article SDSSDHP - 128G), SanDisk (http://www.sandisk.com/products/ssd/sata/ultra-plus/?capacity=128gb)

I have a few questions before I buy parts:

1 - the two drives (my old HDD and the new SSD) are recognized by the motherboard / BIOS and the operating system (Windows, 10)? Is there a limit to a unique HARD/SSD disk drive on the computer?

2 - the height of the SSD is 7mm, and it seems that my old HDD is 9.5 mm in height (model WDC WD10JPVT-60A1YT0). It would cause no problem (I need to add spacers)?

3 - these parts work together and with my computer (size, compatibility)? You can expect any problems with this upgrade?

4 - clean install Windows 10 quote, because I intend to install it on a different drive than the one I used to create the key USB recovery flash? I have never done a clean install of Windows before.

    Haghe

Your plan is perfect. The SSD to will of 7 mm that always come back fine it just will be lower in the caddy. The holes and SATA connections are in the same place as a hard drive of 9.5 mm. You can use a spacer (many SSD include one in the box) but not really necessary.

Installing SSD for Windows 10 the way you expect is not really "own", that he will again introduce files and programs, in my opinion and certainly drivers. Whatever it is, it works perfectly and activates the old installation has been enabled.

The hard disk in the optical adapter will not be bootable and will transfer the data a bit slower than a drive in the main compartment, but will still be usable for most cases. If you need fast input/output like Photoshop or video editing move the job file to the first SSD. Alternatively, you may wish to consider documents and photos and other migration on the HARD drive to keep the 128 GB SSD to fill. You can right-click on these files and select 'place' and move them. After the back if you need some help with that.

    Enjoy.

My PC are Win10 and I can't use the nor myDAQ (badly installed driver or Automation). The driver is present and it worked before!

I reinstalled labview, but nothing has changed.

Is that someone had the same problem?

    Thank you

Thank you for your information. After investigation it turns out that:

-LabVIEW 2012 is not compatible with Windows 10 but is LabvIEW 2015: LabVIEW & Windows compatibility

-The NI DAQmx 9.5 driver is not compatible with Windows 10: compatibility and NOR-DAQmx driver

I invite you to download the drivers OR DAQmx 16 ( Driver OR DAQmx 16.0 ) and install. In the MyDAQ NOR made attention to remove MAX, then install the driver and then re-connect.

  • does the existing conflict of LR 5 with use of CC of LR

I bought LR5 and it works fine. I need to start learning Photoshop to play with my images and therefore must rent the product CC. This rental or license includes a version of Lightroom, as well as a version of Photoshop. How can I avoid conflicts between the two versions of Lightroom?  Maybe I shouldn't use the LR rental and stick with the LR bought already on my computer.  CHCritchett

Both versions of the Lightroom can coexist on the same computer and run independently. However, in my opinion, it is wise to go ahead and install Lightroom CC 2015. It is a newer version and has additional features that are not available in Lightroom 5.

If you have already used Lightroom 5, install Lightroom CC 2015 will create a upgrade of your Lightroom 5 catalog copy. Your original catalog is left intact. CC of Lightroom to convert older catalogs to the new version, but the most recent catalog cannot be used by older versions. Since Photoshop will use the latest features, including the last Camera Raw, you will be wanting to use Lightroom CC 2015 for total compatibility between the two programs.

  • What is the largest size SSHD I can put in my Macbook Pro 2015?

I have a model early 2015 MacBook Pro 13 w/retina with 8 GB of RAM with a 128 SSHD.  I want to upgrade the SSHD and I have a few questions:

    1. What is the largest size that I can install it?

    2. how to re-install the operating system?

Thanks in advance for your help...   I apologize if this question has already been asked, but I couldn't find the answers.

Technically, SSHD refers to a drive of Fusion purchased in-store, with a rotating part (the hard drive) and a Solid State Drive, all in one package.

I think you meant to ask about Solid State Drive or SSD. That's all that will fit in the MacBook pro 13 - in 2015.

Line of OWC/Macsales Aura of "stick" form factor drives go up to about 1 TB at a price:

  • Solid State Drive for Alienware 17 R2 m2 screws (2015)

I recently bought a (Crucial) M.2 SSD for my laptop from Alienware R2 17.  The screws needed to secure the SSD for laptop is not provided, nor were they included with the laptop.  It takes a very small screw with a diameter of about 1 millimeter screw hole.

Does anyone have any info as to the exact size and a source for obtaining this screw?

    Thank you.

I went to Ace hardware and bought a M2, it was too long, but I was able to do the following.

    1: bought a few M2 s c r e w s (approximately 1 cm length) (sorry, dell is filtering the word s c r e w)

2: bought 2 nuts to go on the s c r e w, when the two nuts are on the way, it is equivalent to about 3 mm long

3: used pliers and a dremmel to compress the excess length off the coast of the s c r e w, then fact market back nuts to screw even if all threads have been affected.

It worked for me, fit perfectly in the m2 s c r e w holes to fix the disks. Cost about $ 1.99.

Please help me how to solve this problem.

    Sorry for my English.

It is a response to B.S. scripted. I have a similar problem with my 17r2. The fault lies with the BIOS paralyzed/neutered who wrote for these machines. Dell, in its infinite wisdom, decided that blocking or hiding it almost all functions of the BIOS was a good idea. This led to a BIOS that is in force, broken, due to this being completely massacred. Release an unfixed BIOS and I am betting that 99% of the issues users face go away overnight. Dell, are you listening? YOU CAN'T SELL A 'PERFORMANCE' COMPUTER AND WAIT TO NOT HAVE PROBLEMS WHEN YOU PARALYZE THE BIOS!
