• (Redirected) Custom power and light dim Alienware X 51-Graphics card broken?

  Right then I was in the middle of something today when, without warning my whole system stops. But the power light was on, but weakly. I searched through the forums trying everything I found and nothing worked. I then open my case and take out the graphics card I saw somewhere that someone found it as the issue. After extraction of the card, my PC started normally so, is my broken card or is it possible to fix this?

  The pc is also an alienware x 51 r1, and the graphics card is (I believe that, according to serial number on the sticker) a gtx 670. And if you have any suggestions for new maps at the same level with the gtx 670 or higher graphics that fits, I'd love to hear what you recommend.

• Update of Alienware X 51 graphic card

  Hello everyone, I have the first generation X 51 Desktop (I think) it came with the 550 gtx graphics card. Its time I update I'm starting to have problems of prescriptions for my graphics card with some games. I work with a big budget, so what's the best bang for my buck that will fit in this system? I'd like to get as close to the last possible graphics card, also could you list other options I might have? And also how hard is it to install on the system? Also is there anything else that I should upgrade at the time or in the near future? I was considering just building a new PC, but I can't have too now. Thank you for your comments!

• Alienware m17x r3 graphics card problems

  well, well I bought the m17x r3 about 3 years ago, so basically I is no longer a guarantee of OCHA. last year I started having problems with the graphics card. the laptop crashed while I played, I took it to several technical material and no one could fix, or find the main problem (guess it is the graphics card because I disabled it and it collapsed since then but barelly allows all programs). now I have decided to just buy a new card, but it turns out that the 580 m is abandoned.

  I would appreciate any help on how o where to get another card to replace it.

  The Radeon 6970 M could work in R4 M17X, however, since it was built for the M17X R3 we cannot guarantee that it will perform a 100% in this model.

  Hi, I have the Alienware 15 R2 - Core i7-6700HQ + GTX 970 m. I want to ask you if the graphic amplifier supports Nvidia Quadro graphics cards? I have read that these cards "optimize" and "Push" 3D and architectural programs such as Autodesk Maya, AutoCAD etc.

  I need some tips for upgrading my current graphics card.

  I am running double cards Nvidia GeForce GTS 450, which is initially the computer.

  Not sure what would be a good upgrade not too expensive for my system and also if should I buy 1 card or contiune with two graphics cards.

  Your on the team of Nvidia or AMD according to what you like.

  Personally, I'm on the AMD team. These are my reasons.

  1. better bang for your buck (value for money)

  2. largest (in general) ability of Nvidia GPU

  As Tesla mentioned in a previous post, simple maps are better than double, less problems and a lot, a lot less heat in the case (bi - GPU of in an Aurora that give about 10mm of the gap between the GPU - ridiculous!)

  If you go with bi - GPU then don't forget if you don't you OEM GPU, you will need to buy the standard of 'reference' of the GPU, not GPU which is sold to the computer vendors.

  Use of the GPU to reference a fan that sucks hot air from inside the case and expelled through a vent at the rear of the GPU instead of recycling/expel hot air inside the housing of the computer as the standard GPU do, they are a little more difficult to obtain than standards, but if you go double, I don't recommend using anything else you have overheating problems.

  In my opinion, if you want something on the cheap side giving you a leap upward in performance and speed then I would recommend a single 4GB AMD 6990.

  If Tesla autour it may be able to give you advice a little better than me, he is the man to talk with Alienware desktop computer (sorry of Tesla, I hope that this post don't bombard you with messages :)!)

  FYI - in one of the previous posts on this subject, it has been mentioned that only a few GPU have been "authorized" by Dell, just to clarify that for you.

  Dell has only affirm that they have not test anything after the 6990 on your machine, it means absolutely nothing to the end-users of no guarantee of left, pretty well all of the cards, even the new GTX780 or the 'R' AMD series and other work on/in your machine, it's just political: P

  Using a "replacement card" in your PC even if you have the remaining warranty cancels not it, you just won't have any guarantee on the aftermarket GPU, that is not a question if you buy the aftermarket GPU new since it will have its own guarantee.

  The fire extinguished any other question you have, theres not a lot of people here who can help you.

  I have an alienware aurora end of 2012 I believe.

  I currently have a series of 6800 AMD raedon graphics card, processor 3930 r9 k i7 and 8 GB of ram.

  I recently bought a MSI gtx 970 game to replace my old graphics card. I plug this card and it even lights up when I turn on the computer, but however my pc only happens to the start screen where I get the choice after pressing F2 and F12 and then freezes and I can't do anything. I then hear 3 beeps of inside my pc and then it proceeds to a blackscreen where my only choice is to turn it off manually.

  I tried to uppgrade my BIOS without much success (dident make it work), uninstall all graphics drivers from AMD, but nothing has changed.

  So I'm clueless I'm kinda a noob of the pc and have no idea what could cause this and would love help to explain what happens if all goes well if anyone knows a fix.

  You you connected all power cables required PCIe 970? They are probably different config as AMD-6800. You should have 875w PS, but you might need to check that.

  Probably should have uninstalled AMD Driver Suite (catalyst) before removing the card from AMD.

  If card MSI BIOS a double switch, you can try another position.

  Try Mode Windows safe.

  What operating system do you use? Are you running the UEFI BIOS or legacy Mode?

  Hey everyone I would like update my graphics card for a 950 witch, my father had this befor and he called for you guys to see if we can upgrade the card on it and your tech said yes sp it is possible with a power brick and a limit on the card is a NVIDIA GTX 950 and I would like to know if I can get one that has 4 GB and if I can get the power to brick it cuz they say we can, but as what we found the site only has up to 330 watts not around 400 or more this card must run the sys and the card please help

  I want to buy my son a new graphics card for its Alienware X 51, purchased in 2013. The vehicle currently has a Nvidia GT 640, which apparently is not fast enough for new games there.

  After reading this topic I think of two cards, I found on Amazon UK:

  This is the right type of card? And who would be best?

  Power is currently an adapter 240W. Is it necessary to buy a one 330W and must be of (very expensive) Dell, or could I get away with some of the cheapest on Amazon?

• Alienware x 51 R2 - 240W - graphics cards?

  I searched for a new graphics card to replace my 1 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 645 for some time now, as the newest games is movie far the graphics "Runescape";).

  I was overlooking a large number of discussions and even tried to contact Dell directly, get them to send me an email of the graphics cards that I have in my current computer. I don't however have specific answers.

  So I was wondering if you guys could help out me :).

  My current Alienware X 51 R2 is running:
  240W power
  A 250V EURO power cord
  At 4th generation Intel Core processor i5-4430 (6 MB of Cache, up to 3.2 GHz with Turbo Boost technology)

  Now for the TL. DR

  If I want to trade my 1 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 645 the best possible of GPU, which should go for?

  The map budget is important, but I would not go there for a new power supply or power cord, if possible :).

  A GTX 950 peut be possible, but it's up to you if you think it is useful to do since it is the most powerful of the four mentioned. AMD options that will work with the block of power SUPPLY 240 w is not a price: performance that the Nvidia GPU are or could be recommended.

  If you have an "unlimited" budget, why do you resist wanting a bigger PSU (there is only one to choose the shape, and THST the PSU 330w for X 51 and Alienware laptops)?

  Recently, I deleted from my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 7 and now all my games (COD Black Ops, FSX, etc.) and other programs such as Google Earth are Mid-use freezing and I have to force to leave them via the Task Manager. There is a sign of warning next to the VGA adapter in the currency manager and I can not find suitable driver to install it with. This driver to I use to install the VGA graphic card?   You are probably running on the integrated graphics card Intel HD3000.

  Generally drivers for laptop are all downloaded from the web site of the mfg, but sometimes drivers for graphics dedicated on laptops are downloaded from the mfg cards.

  I see that the four existing variants of the M14X using Nvidia GT650m, so if DELL does not include drivers for this card then use the Nvidia download below-
  Note that your M14X may use a different graphics card, so check that you have.

  No matter what the pilots are on the CD, you should check for newer versions
  on the DELL site, as the drivers on the CD are almost always up-to-date.

  If you have not done yet also get updates of Windows, but don't forget to

  I recently updated my Alienware X 51 with a graphics card than GeForce GTX 970, and now whenever I try to run a game or test the new card my computer completely stop almost instantly.
