Set to start in safe mode, will not light

My computer was working normally, no problem, no virus. I was troubleshooting a wireless connection problem and decided to try the safe mode, boot in safe mode. I tried to restart my computer in SafeMode with F8, but this does not work, it's just booted normally. Then I put manually the configuration to restart in safe mode (system configuration > boot > safe mode). After the attempt to restart the computer, it starts, but never turned on, nothing appears on the monitor. I tried several times, nothing. I also checked the material, that is not the issue. Powers of computer, tries to start, but nothing ever appears on screen.

Computer running Windows 7 Pro

No idea what could cause this, or how to solve without a clean installation?

Try a system repair disc to start.  If you have not done one for you, you can do it on another Windows 7 computer as long as it matches the number of bits of yours (32 vs 64)

You need a blank CD recordable.  Start, all programs, Maintenance, on the other PC.

Insert the CD into your computer and start your PC, you must make sure that the PC actually uses the CD.  Which may require you to get a boot menu to select the CD player to do the marketing.  There's a key (on a Dell computer it's F12) you need to press when your computer starts to prepare and presents the start menu.  It varies depending on the brand of the PC.  You should see on your start screen briefly as he begins to launch.

Once you have started on this CD, it will offer alternatives to repair the computer.  The one to which you probably need is to restore to an earlier date.  It does no data, only programs.

    What to say Brad. It seems the full Windows XP operating system has crashed!
    Believe me, something like what is happening simply and I think that it s nothing unusual to anyone who use and works with Windows OS for a long time.

    You should definitely try to reinstall the OS from the Toshiba restore CD.
    But this procedure will format your HARD drive and you will lose all files stored on the HARD drive.

    But this is only one possibility to get Windows running on this laptop.

  • Lost start menu / no. icons on bottom / cannot start in safe mode / can not use windows fix option

    After a restart of my computer I have more a start menu bar or icons on my background.  Things seem to work ok most of the time, but my pc hangs on the blue screen more than before.

    I tried to reset my computer to a previous point of reset but my help and support option does not work and when I use the option in the advanced start-up splash screen it appears that it nothing happens because I find myself with the same State of no start bar or the desktop icons.

    I also tried to start my computer in safe mode, but it hangs and never completes the operation.

    My computer came with an installation disk ever because he has been on a hidden HD (Dell 9200) partition but I can't access it because during startup, it hangs at the same place as my safe mode option blocks so I can't use the windows fix option.

    Can anyone think of anything I can do to fix this?  I got it to work by removing the file Explorer in my window of Task Manager running it again, but this seems to be a symptom of a larger problem because I get the blue screen.

    It is up to you and if you want to wait. You still need a hard disk physically viable well. Maybe you want to just wait and then break the RAID 0, treat readers as being separate and test with the diagnostic utility before installing Win7. You do a clean install anyway.

    I'm really happy with Win7. Just make sure you have the drivers for it. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

    Hello

    What happens when you try to run msconfig?

    Try the following steps to start using the F8 key and check if you have the ability to start windows normally.

    a. restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.

  • Windows xp does not start in safe mode how to

    Computer says windows did not start successfully and does not start in safe mode, will not restart, do not go back to the last known good configuration

    When you choose to start safe mode, which is the last thing you see on the screen?

    When you arrive at the menu of Boot Options Advanced F8, you need to choose in this menu, the option:

    Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

    If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

    If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start tapping the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restart on system failure, and then select.

    You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

    If your system has a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), we need to know what the screen says:

    Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:

    http://TechRepublic.com.com/i/tr/downloads/images/bsod_a.jpg

    Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).

    Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.

    If it looks like there is some kind of name listed in the STOP message file, send this line also.

    Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

    Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

  • HP dv6-6b51nr, will not start in safe mode. pls help

    Thanks for any help.

    I am trying to start my laptop in safe mode by pressing f8 at startup. but I got only a black screen then the laptop starts beeping, which will not stop until I force shut down the laptop.

    Seems something wrong. Help, please.

    Thank you.

    If you are still able to start a normal Windows there is a work around.

    In Windows, search programs and files box, type "msconfig".

    Select the Startup tab and choose start as in the image below. Now, restart the laptop and you should start in Windows safe mode.

    Don't forget to go back into msconfig later you will start up in the normal Windows installation again. If you forget to do this, it will always start in safe mode.

    You do not specify what operating system is installed in your laptop. The procedure is valid for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

  • Black screen, does not start in safe mode - how do I restart my mac

    Hello, I have a MacbookPro, that all of a sudden will not start. I believe that the problem - from what I've read-, is that memory is simply too fulll. I tried to start in Safe Mode, but of course it doen't work. The screen displays a small bar as it loads, but after a while goes back to the same blank screen and nothing happens. I tried waiting half an hour, but nothing changes. I have not tried to launch utility disk in Recovey Mode because I'm afraid of what will happen to my files. Unfortunately, I unwisely postponed to back up files and now I'm afraid to do anything that my fry them all without me even realizing it. Can you offer any solution that is as safe as possible?  I don't have a cable Thunderbolt.

    You must install SP3 before you install your antivirus program. This can be done safely by downloading the file in advance and install while physically disconnected from the Internet. In addition, you should keep IE at the level before installing SP3 IE6.

    My system worked properly on 25 April and then something happened and now the machine comes back with "Start menu options" but will not start in one of the listed options, modes result in the same outcome.  System also starts on the Vista CD.

    System begins to boot normally, shows the tracer Green Windows at the bottom of the screen, then the mouse pointer appears and moves but the rest of the screen remains black.

    That's it, that's all what he will do.  I checked the settings of the computer and ran the diagnostic tests available and everything seems to go fine and passes all the tests.

    I worked on my own computers for over 20 years and never been stumped before, but I must say this is a first, and I have no idea what to try to do it now.

    Help or direction is appreciated.

    original title: Vista 64-bit Black Screen of Death, with just a mobile available slider, the system does not start in safe mode.

    See if there is a way to tecover clean your data before doing a restore to conditions of factory that will wipe the drive of all.  You can use Knoppix http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD (which you will need to do on another computer).  Starting on this disc and lla should give you enough access to the system (if you do not have any other means) to backup your important data.

    So since you seem to have no other alernatives, you can try retoring the original factory computer options. However, if it is a hardware problem as could very well be the case, you can still encounter problems after even this drastic step.  Then you will need to consider in a reputable computer repair shop (NOT Geek Squad or or a any of these big store centers) or maybe even go back to the manufacturer for repair.   Check out several options and compare the costs, quality and guaranteed and then make your best decision.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Home Vista Safe Mode does not start correctly. What should I do about it?

    Hi, I was struck by an unknown number of bugs. I don't know how.  I ran my anti-virus software and could not find bugs. I tried to start in safe mode to run antivirus and Vista programs won't let me access Mode without failure. I turn on the computer, press F8 repeatedly until my options appear. I tried the Safe Mode and safe mode with networking Mode. In both conditions, Safe Mode begins to start. Crosses of approximately 42 drivers and comes to the black screen with the oversized arrow, then the computer restarts.  What can I do?  I can't access Safe Mode!

    Hello

    If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
    scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
    resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect as the
    cause.

    No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
    to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
    its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
    extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

    It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however, you must also run
    the regular windows when you can.

  • Whenever I start my computer, I get the blue screen of death. I'm not getting in what concerns the opening of session and there is no prompt to start in safe mode. Whenever I start my computer the error code and message on blue screen are different.

    I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I was on the internet when my computer screen turned blue and a message told me that a problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down. He said that I had tried to do something with memory executable not executable (I don't have a note of the code). He said as he poured out memory. Now, whenever I start, the blue screen of death gives me different messages and different error codes. Today, he says:

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    and codes of error STOP: 0x0000000A (0x0000001B, 0 x 00000600, 0x810A90B0, 0x00000001).

    PC World say that they need to reinstall Windows, but I have some really really important files on there that I have not supported (I know, really stupid on my part) and they said they cannot guarantee their recovery. Is there another way to fix it?

    I've been on the forums and suggestions involve me to be able to connect to my computer. Blue screen hits me before I can log on, and there is no prompt to start in safe mode.

    Thank you very much!

    Try this to save your data:

    Data recovery:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1 in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
    See you soon.
