  We would say that as long as the machine has not been damaged during the process, should not be cancelled. Also, remember that Alienware, replacement of components or open the machine on the machines is not void the warranty either.

• ALienware Alpha - controller question

  I just got my Alienware Alpha from Friday, rather than go through the console mode with the controller provided instead, I plugged a mouse & keyboard & entered into mode of office since the beginning. Now my 360 controller acts as a mouse & controller at the same time. I looked around & apparently because I jumped mode console, I can not disable the mouse for the controller option. I tried to not uninstall Alpha Command Center because apparently it worked for someone else, I had no luck however.

  I did something similar when I arrived at Alpha.  Since then, I came to the conclusion that it is not a good idea to remove the Alpha user interface (or all alpha software), but it is a good compromise.

  I suggest that you re-install Center Alpha UI/order - do not know if this is possible - otherwise you will need to restore your Alpha to factory settings and start over (I had to do that!).  I hope it won't be too bad as you only Friday.

  You will need to connect to the interface user Alpha a couple of times and make updates.  There are at least two updates that fixes the controller and also graphic problems too.  You can only do these updates with the Alpha user interface, so it is important to keep for other updates.

  Now, on to the solution.  This allows to boot directly to Windows rather than load the interface user of Alpha.

  Log in desktop mode.

  -Open a window (command) in now the Windows key and press R

  -In the run box type: netplwiz

  - This opens a window of parameters of user accounts.  Check the box "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer".

  -Click OK.

  Once you have done what the above, your alpha will start as a normal Windows PC, so you can choose which user account to log (Alpha UI or Windows desktop), and it will default to the last used.  The startup time is much faster, but it will ask you to enter your password as a normal PC Windows.

  The only problem I found is that, after that a Windows update the controller no longer works.  I suspect that this is because Windows is a full stop and restart after the update instead of using the quick start that she normally does.  All you need to do in this case is to connect to the interface user Alpha once again, and then disconnect you, then back to your Windows account.  This will fix it until the next Windows update in this case, you simply do the same thing again!

  I hope this helps.  I've been running with this configuration for a few months and it worked fine.

  Hi, I was watching and thinking about buying an alienware alpha, but I had a few 1 questions that I can't find any info on. So could someone please help.

  1st question and that is my main I need to know, can I run Ventrilo on it and play all the games at the same time or would I still need a laptop to use ventrilo to chat with friends?

  2nd video of question 1, I saw said that I could run non-steam game, is it true? I will mainly play steam games, but I want to just make sure I could still run games as League of legends and perhaps The Elder Scrolls online because he is going to play soon from what I've heard.

  3rd question and sorry about that one, but I don't know much about computers so I need to ask. I see that $700 and $850 versions have higher processors makes this mean for games? Also they have more big disks hard, it's just the space right storage? Sorry for this question, that I just want to ask before you buy

• Alienware 14 lights problem

  I have 14 Alienware. I could have it for a while and I had no problem with it, but recently, when I turn on the light of my cell phone turned on for 2 seconds then they will switch off again, even if the Alien FX is on. I tried to uninstall the command center and install it again, but it did not work. any help please?

  In the right corner of the Windows taskbar, you can have a little alien head icon. If you click on this icon, you should see a few options here. One of the options is 'Dim lighting areas. • (Redirected) Alienware alpha bugs

  I recently purchased the Alienware alpha;

  I noticed a few bugs with the user of Alpha interface I'd like to be addressed.

  First of all, there is no option to specify a user name "" when choosing a WiFi network.  Maximum space to provide a password for the user.  It forces me to use the windows interface to connect to the network and then start steam through the Office for windows 8 (completely defeat the purpose of the UI alpha)

  Secondly, there are many problems with a wired xbox 360 controller iin switching between UI alpha and the situation as a whole steam UI.  Entering the steam UI after the launch through the alpha of the user interface with a wire of the selection process controller goes crazy and appears as if the game keys or the joystick is pressed constantly. Therefore, it is not possible to make all the selections through the intention.

  Third, (my biggest problem with the UI alpha).  When you enter the desktop mode, I have to select my user account (choice between the 'Alpha' usergroup and my admin user), and then enter a password. Instead, it would be more convenient when you select the desktop through the user interface of alpha mode, the system should go directly to the desktop.

  I appreciate that my comments go to the alpha development team to address these deficiencies.  Thank you

  Don t think someone could help here in your case.
  No lights (power led, led battery nor ac DC plug-in led) means there could be a problem of serious material maybe the motherboard is missing.

  If the AC adapter is defective, then the laptop must always turn on using battery power ok, this is not possible if the battery would be too empty.

  So usually a technician first test adapter and should try to plug an AC adapter right in order to test this.

  But to me it looks like something wrong with a motherboard :(
  Of course, this is only my personal opinion...

• FS750T2 does not start, all the lights are green

  I have used 2 of these switches, both with the same problem:

  When I put in the power cord, all 48 ports lights are switched on (green).
  Nothing happens when I connect the switch to my modem.
  Is seems that nothing happens when I use the button reboot and/or delivered to factory settings button.
  All of a sudden (I'm not exactly after what I was doing) I saw a switch in the SmartWizard and 1 single port was green. It seems that the switch worked very well and I have installed the latest firmware. Everything went well, but after I took off the power cable and put it back again the same problem appaers. Now I can do what I want, nothing seems to help to restart the switch.

  Is there a certain procedure to reset to use the reset or factory or pushbuttons for reset?
  Anyone has an idea why the switch is not complete booting?

  Donkey other ideas are welcome, thanks in advance!

  -If all port 48 LED steady green when nothing connected to it, then it seems to be a faulty hardware.

  -Try to do a power reset. Here are the steps:

  a. press the reset button factory for 30 seconds, while the switch is on.
  (b) after 30 seconds, turn off the switch for 5 seconds but continue to press the factory reset button.
  c. after 5 seconds, the switch while you continue to press the factory reset button. Wait another 5 seconds.
  d. release the reset factory button. Check to see if it will boot completely.

• WRT 120n lights are still flashing

  The lights are supposed to always flashes in random order... the power light is solid, but 2 others next to it and the 1 where is connected the office flashing like crazy... the router works fine, I was wondering if I missed something when I put in place

  On the different modems & routers lights quickly and constantly when the receiving and sending data, it is perhaps the reason for the State and blinking wlan. It shows the frequency of traffic between the internet and the computer that is provided by the tcp protocol.

  So, this is a normal state of light...

  I'm looking for comments and suggestions. I just bought 2 i5 Alienware Alpha for my 2 boys. They have screens VGA, that they can use, or they can use their HDMI TV. If we have to abandon the VGA they finally to have replacements for TV. Or, we leave only TVs and get new monitors or TVs for the Alienware.

  Someone at - it suggestions? (Cannot afford monitors suggested because of the purchase of the consoles).

• CPU round ends, but my keyboard lights are always on.

  On tests of hardware failures often alleged swapping parts by parts checked. If you can not do the test yourself and/or are uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before taking the machine into a shop. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

• (Redirected) Alienware Alpha delivered games missing

  Hi all I bought an Alienware Alpha back in June however I do not have to receive the games delivered with the system when I added my Steam login to the first installation.  I suspect that the machine has been used by the shop staff JBHiFi I bought it and they may have bought the keys innappropriately.  How can I correct this situation?

  I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. Sometimes there may be ink system failures, ink cartridges are bad, or even the printer maintenance needs.

• Alienware Alpha refuses to play Star Wars Battlefront 3

  Not too sure what else to try...

  Bought a copy of PC of Star Wars Battlefront 3 of Dell.

  He arrived, installed original, installed the game, but the game would not load (game seems to be gray out originally). Installed on my Media Center PC Battlefront (i5 / 16 GB-RAM/GTX770SLI) and it will start and play without any problems.

  Went back to my Alienware Alpha (i5 / 8GB - RAM)... Upgrade to Windows 10... still has not loaded...

  Experience of GeForce uninstalled and reinstalled and updated drivers for the last... Still has not loaded...

  Updated RAM on my Alienware Alpha from 8 GB to 16 GB (ordered through Dell... shot in the dark)...  Still load the game...

  GeForce experience sees the game, but is unable to optimize or restart...

  Account Origin see the game... but it's greyed out on the Alpha...

  Windows sees the game as being "set up" and is unable to launch...

  Any help or suggestions here? I called the origin, with me by checking the settings of my account and some basic PC troubleshooting... Unable to find a problem...

  Reference called Dell... Transferred 3 times and told me its probably a "software problem" and that maybe they could help me if I paid them $129.00?... What is rather low because I bought the system, game and RAM directly through Dell...

  I've seen countless comments, posts and videos of people with Alphas playing this game...

  Anyone have any ideas on what I can try?
