• How to center text compared to the other two layers

  Hello world

  It seems simple enough: I have two layers of distinct text - both in the same line. One is left-aligned, the other is aligned to the right, so that they specify in the middle. Overall, I want they to be centered.

  

  But because these two texts will have different formulations of various projects, I want to use the model function, so I can edit them in first.

  Is there a way to tell After Effects: "some text there, take two text layers and their Center as a whole."?

  For the life of me I can't figure out how to do. The closest I am to a solution is an expression on the anchor to a null object, which reads:

  W1 = thisComp.layer("Text1").sourceRectAtTime () .width;

  W2 = thisComp.layer("Text2").sourceRectAtTime () .width;

  [(thisComp.width-(w1 + w2)) / 2, value [1]]

  Then the text layers are related to the null value.

  The problem with that: it works with the text aligned to the right. If you change the text aligned to the left, everything goes to the left.

  Does anyone have an idea how to make this work? It may even be a way simpler than using expressions?

  There is no demo that is involved in the technique. Alignment tools will not work with a demo. In the screenshot at the top of the page, note the selected text and the reference level setting in the character Panel. I just adjusted the base line in the second paragraph of the text to move it to the top so that it is aligned with the base line in the first paragraph of the text.

  Unfortunately, the process becomes a little more difficult if you want to be able to use this model as an asset of editable text dynamically linked in Premiere Pro. Centering becomes a problem. It's pretty easy to get the width of the text layer but the anchor is based on paragraph and I'm not in any way take the width of the first paragraph of the text and add it to the width of the second paragraph of the text and adjust the anchor point to be at the center of the paragraphs combined.

  You can return to the idea of two layers of text, but use the width of each layer and the ratio between the widths to control the position of a null value. If you then related the two layers for the null value, the null value of centering with an expression based on the width of two layers and the ratio between the width of the left and right text would do the trick. I have to think about how to write this expression a bit. This is probably the solution to your problem, but I don't think I could write this expression in my head.

  What you want to do is to calculate the total width of the two layers (tw) and then calculate the ratio between the width of the two layers (rw / lw) then multiply the width of the layer left by the ratio then you can calculate the offset. You may have to calculate the ratio of the layer from left to the total width of the two layers. As I said, I'll have to think for a minute. There is also the problem of the space between the two layers. You will need to add a space before the first letter of the right text layer, but the size of the right layer won't take into account the space so you have to measure it and add it to keep things perfectly centered.

  EDIT:

  So I did a reflection more and I was doing it too hard. All you have to do is to calculate the difference between the width of the layers both text and divide by 2 and add it to the Center comp. name your layers of text left and right, and then add this expression to a null value.

  Now, hold down the SHIFT key and parent the two lines of text to null. If you don't want to use the trick of null, you can add the expression of two layers of text. Using the value null makes it easier to move. The expression can also be modified to allow you to position the null or layers wherever you want in the model.

  Due to a disk failure, the first part of the path to the library changed and disconnected so many photos that I've been using photoshop for more than 8 years. I am running windows 7 with photoshop elements 14. An example is the original path was 3 28 \\dualdisk02\bobk\myphotos\2010 and now the path is 3 28 \\dualdisk03\latk\myphotos\2010 is it possible to easily just change the first part of the path from one channel to the other?

• Trying to avoid one complex path of the other, can not get the result I need

  I would really appreciate some help on this. I'm not familiar with illustrator and am stuck trying to accomplish what I hope is an easy task. I transferred my .ai here just in case someone can help.

  I have two layers, one is a collection of lines/paths that make up a drawing of a tree, then brush the top layer which is a bunch of paths using a 'distressed '. I've read several tutorials on using the pathfinder tool to subtract one from the other, but whenever I find myself with the path of the deleted tree I want. I tried a simple test case (subtracting one afflicted a rectangle shape path) and it worked as expected. I don't know why it doesn't work no other that perhaps it is simply too complex.

  On the left (red background CCG) is it that look like my layers, on the right is the effect I'm trying to achieve (parts white removed the black parts). I need this to end up being a vector, then it can cut a vinyl sticker.

  You can do this with multiple paths or groups. Create transparent traces. You can check if there are still groups in the layers panel.

• How can I select the objects and remove the other objects by using the selection path

  I know that I am able to do this in photoshop. Select an object, lets say a group of letters just by ctrl clicking on the thumbnail of the layer, then put another layer of more selected a group of letters, then go on the other layer (not the Group of letters) and pressing DELETE. I hope I explained it well, otherwise, here is a video that made a good explanation of it.   Hi all

  I'm new to the forum, I did a search on this topic and did not find a relavent thread, so if I missed an earlier discussion on this, I apologize.

  I'm trying to align right 2 symbols in Illustrator. I created a grey vertical rectangle symbol and a blue rectangle. When I click on the right button Align alignment, the border of the symbols in the palette line up, however the actual rectangles in the symbol encompassing are not aligned.

  I tried aligning the symbols, then change the content of the blue rectangle on top, however, when I go out the isolation mode, the blue rectangle to the left was a few pixels so it does not keep changes.

  I created a clipping on the gray bar art path and the blue bar art so the two elements are the same width, but when I convert them to symbols, the bounding boxes are 2 different sizes, it is probably part of the problem, but I don't know how to make the width of the box of the same limit once they are converted into symbols.

  Any help is greatly appreciated and if I do something that violates the rules of conduct forum, please let me know.

  A problem with the symbols is that their bounding zones correspond to the Edit > preferences > General > use overview of obligations, or to develop (appearance), in other words, they understand everything that is outside the thorns of the paths etc.

  They are difficult to align correctly.

  It really depends on what is outside the spine or everything that defines the original bounding box.

  I'm sure that you can easily align the original work.

• Why my message a confirmation of reading on a device and not the other?

  I use my iMessage on my iPhone 5 and my Macbook Air, however, sometimes when I send a message from a device it shows a read receipt to the other person on my mac, but not on my iPhone. The message on my iPhone remains as "delivered" much later and then seems to be read (I'm done yet receive confirmations of reading on my phone), but my mac delivers the message, and it seems that the message has been read afterwards, but it shows the path of the read receipt before my iPhone don't. I don't know if it's just one little problem and they have not actually read the message, or if my mac book is somehow showing the first read receipts?

  It has to do with which ID is used to send the iMessages and what devices are then synced to see this info.

  Device sending roughly see the pronouncement to feedback.

  If it's the Mac using the Apple ID it will 'see' the 'read' first response.

  However, if the Mac uses the iPhone number to send, then some info can run on the iPhone first it's the device the number belongs to.

  The Mac is only then light "Copies" of the synchronization version.

  Add to that the fact that some people will have a device set to join read receipts and not another.

  It is basically not a precise answer that there are many factors that can influence it.

  Note: Why two versions?

  Function SIERREUR is ideal for use as a trap for the error, but it acts on all errors, not only the one you plan to trap. Best practice is to add to this trap only if you are sure that the formula generates other error messages that awaits you and using in this case we know VLOOKUP, who has been charged with finding an "exact match" will throw an error when it does. Function SIERREUR catches this error and puts a string anywhere in the cell, making it appear empty.

  Easy way on Windows: you'll need 1) the name of the second profile you have created, 2) a shortcut existing (already on the desktop, I hope) to Firefox.

  1. Create a copy of the shortcut, you can right-click on the shortcut and select send to > desktop. It will create a nice copy of second.
  2. Right-click on the copy and go to properties.
  3. In the 'Target' box, you should see something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Firefox\firefox.exe" .
  4. After all (including the quotation marks) in the target box, add -no-remote -P <profile> where <profile> is the name of the profile that you created.
  5. For example, if the path to the firefox.exe am I guessed above, it would look like"C:\Program Files (x86)\Firefox\firefox.exe" -no-remote -P my-second-profile

  To run the second instance at the same time, simply use the new shortcut. The -no-remote flag tells him to start another process of Firefox, instead of simply to open a new window in the current.

  Usually when people have another very large on their boot drive, the Spotlight index is corrupt. The Spotlight index is used to create display, and if this does not work, you can see odd information.

  Try re-indexing of Spotlight before going down the path you're on: Spotlight: how to re - index folders or volumes - Apple Support

  Once done, a program like Perspective great, X inventory disc or disc Daisy that displays graphically where all your storage space is assigned.

  The main things you want to remove are your movies and photos. These are usually the biggest users of the space. If you want to keep, move them to another hard drive or burn them to disc. Make sure that you back up this another disc, too.

I had access more quickly the application server on this system. Now what will I do to have access to all of the network files shared on both subnets.

• Need help aligning the SSD to install Windows XP Pro (32 bit)

  OK, I scoured the internet for help on this one - I'm a newbie to SSD - so having to manually align the partitions and find FITTINGS utilities to take care of the "Crusher" is all new to me - so the answers I found on the net were to "over my head" for my last neuron remaining cope!

  The machine is an Asus Eee PC 901/XP - that belongs to a friend of mine. These netbooks have 1 x 4 GB SSD and 1 x 8 GB SSD - I installed XP Pro SP3 on the 8 GB and got to boot from it - only problem is not only slow, but essentially unusable in this same open my computer with no other progs running takes a good 30-45 seconds - and actually run the progs just cripple it.

  After checking the CPU in Tsk Mgr was sod all, that there is plenty of available RAM (I upgraded to 2 GB = max mobo aura), I can only imagine that - now that I've done some reading on these SSDS - the (main?) cause of the non-existent performance is the fact that I have (in my ignorance) doesn't have to align the partitions before installing the operating system.

  I got a 8 GB disk image - using a prog called 'Snapshot' - as I read it, I should be able to then use this image to replace the disk of 8 once I have the aligned partition (this image is now on the 4 GB drive), without messing up alignment - so no doubt I need to align the 4 GB drive as well.

  So, after all that waffle that I would be really happy is a walk of models by using Diskpar (if someone can point me to a working bind it to d/l 1!) -or Diskpart, which I think I can run from my recovery disc of Win7 (from my Dell laptop) - I know that I've seen people talk about running it from a Vista recovery disk, so guess it of the same tool and can help me to do the same job.

  I think I need to remove the volume (?) on the 8 GB, before I can do any alignment - then, as it is currently the only player with a job o/s on this subject, is it possible by booting from the recovery disc too?

  Just for the record the Tech Support Asus was desperate - also, their support for the "Eee" family forum have been down for weeks - then were not able to ask people who have probably all done on this machine!

  what I did earlier.

  I wanted to have a manager of fixed size (maximum size) and put fields here, during an aliging then using stylebit it did not work. I used sublayout and fixed to what extent a perticular dimension

  resovled doing problem.

  It is not sufficient (or necessary) to if you want to use sublayout to have a fixed size, if you use the alignment, bcz setting hardcodedly properties, the other model overridden, so u must override the methods 'getPrefferedWidth & height', not the two held all the time, but according to the needs, if you want to:-alignment, you can try only method "width" and comparable to V-alignment. I included these methods and found that half of my UI related issues would have resolved more easily, if I tried this previously.
