Alleged telephone call made by "Microsoft Windows"
I received a phone call from a lady claiming to call Microsoft and telling me after having me show some errors and warning that someone has hacked my computer and I need to go to a website www.support.me and enter a code that gives me. after which I should press the download button.
I have a feeling that the site is the pirate and would download all my private information from my computer when I pressed on this download darn button.
Can anyone here conirm that microsoft uses a Web site named www.support.me?
I told her I lost connection to my ISP and I hope to have the connection in 30 minutes approximately.
She said (in her broken English) that she would call half an hour.
I proposed to call her back when I got the connection, she says, that was not possible because she called from the server.
Hope to have your experience in a short time
Hello
It's a scam.
This is the advice that we give:
We have all the errors and warnings in our Event Viewer
Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.
You are the only person who knows if you gave them remote access.
If you gave them remote access and you do Internet banking, contact your bank, to explain, and change passwords.
If you use your online credit card, cancel and get a new one issued to you.
And the only way that willl you know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
And Microsoft does not contact you unless YOU have made prior arrangements with them to do.
There is an article in the link I'm you provide at the end of this one

I got several calls in recent months saying they are Microsoft Windows. Asking me to perform tasks on my computer to avoid collisions are authentic
Hello pep1954,
Unless you have a prepaid with Microsoft support contract then no Microsoft will contact you about problems with your PC.
These are just scams to get the user to allow the rogue to infiltrate the computer and steal personal data such as passwords and bank account details. Never, ever give them access to your PC and never give them some personally identifiable information. The next time they phone tell them you don't have a computer, they will soon put the phone down on you.

Dell technicians had me buy a new disk, Windows 7 OS, which I installed it yesterday. A few minutes before, a phone call came in saying they were calling from Microsoft and I wanted to scan for free because I bought a product at Microsoft. They had me download software teamviewer.com, ccleaner, malware, spyware superantii. They ran scans and said I was infected and I should buy these software packages for $79. Is this a real service of Microsoft? I still have these software on my computer, I have to delete them? What other threats may be present, if it is not a true service of Microsoft?

I received two telephone calls from a seller who claims to represent Microsoft saying that my computer was "unwanted download." He has given two different names for him society, something like 'Windows provider Services' the first time and was the call from a blocked number. He directed me to some information in my System Manager (right click on computer, then Event Viewer) who recorded downloads of updates to MSWindows (lucky I knew what I wanted to). I wanted Microsoft to know that there were people claiming to be outside suppliers working for MS calling and giving misleading information. I do not see who to contact about this, so I'm posting this information here, hoping someone will pass this along to the appropriate Microsoft part.
I had my Windows operating system from a seller so I knew from the start (before even that I was their number has been blocked) that I was dealing with a fraud, but the guy was very persistent and had an accent of the Indian subcontinent, so if I didn't it would have been pretty convincing. In any case, I hope that this help catch the guy. This is a very common scam, many people have reported what happens to them recently on here, your chance that you could avoid to do this,

About 1 every month that I get a phone call from someone with a thick Indian accent who claims in the first place, it works for windows, when I ask whose windows he says its Microsoft Windows. It will then just telling me that my Windows program sends his Department mistakes and he wants to fix them... Several times I asked to speak to a Manager and he is responsible, he said, I asked him to send me something by mail and he never does, he says he wants to help me fix the errors now (My Microsoft windows is not telling me of all the errors), the first time that I received the phone call He wanted to access my computer remotely. I tried to call him after the call it has been rough for me, by dialing * 69 and the recording of the telephone company says it's a 'blocked' number, I asked for a number to call and he tells me that he wants to solve this problem now and won't remember. I asked where to call from and what state and he wants to argue about the fixing of these so-called errors which receives the "Ministry of Windows. This happens for about a year about once each month to a month and a half. I'm tired of his phone calls. Can someone advise me how to tell if it is a real Microsoft employee/Division # 1. can #2 someone please pass on to Microsoft management because if he tries to gain illegal access to my computer (hard to believe that he would call for more than a year if it was), it is probably fool other Customers of Microsoft (if it is not a real employee)... I have it has even said once the number is followed by the telephone company which will check for fraud, said, bring them... I asked for him not to call me more and he wants to argue about the correction of the errors until I hang up, then another month goes and I received another call... IS THERE SUCH A SERVICE IN INDIA? .... Please until I get to my end, can someone advise me what legal action can I take because I'm tired of receiving these phone calls from a person who just wants to argue.

Phone calls that would have been from Microsoft Windows
I got a phone call from someone claiming to be Sarah Murray of Microsoft Windows Support. She said that she called because my PC was to make a large number of critical errors, which it might well be. She said she called 16 Hanover Street London and gave his (company), telephone number as 020 8199 1822. She says that it is a provider of Technical Support services.
Anyone think this is likely to be a real call? Or, if this is not what I would do to this topic. Needless to say that when I composed 1471 "details of the appellant are not available."

Microsoft has none of the unsolicited telephone calls to help you fix your computer
In this type of scam cybercriminals are calling you and claim to be of Support technique Microsoft. They offer help with your computer problems. Once scammers have earned your trust, they try to steal and damage your computer with malicious software, including viruses and spyware.
Although the law enforcement can trace phone numbers, often authors use pay telephones, disposable cell phones or stolen cellular phone numbers. Better avoid fooling themselves rather than try to repair the damage afterwards.
Treat all unsolicited sceptically telephone calls. Don't provide personal information.
If you receive an unsolicited call from someone who claims to be from Technical Support Microsoft, hang up. We do not have such calls.
If you think you might be a victim of fraud, you can report it. For more information, see: what to do if you think you have been scammed.

Phone call from Microsoft windows scam
Hello
I received a phone call saying he was Microsoft Windows and there are system reported that my computer was full of viruses and malware, and they said that my computer was sending viruses in e-mails that they lock my email account in order to protect others. They knew my name and said they could make me a lot if I could prove that I was learned as they need my bank details to level from 4 years of life support that will continue with new computers to replace old. I stupidly gave details as he said that if I did it would install antivirous in the computer as a dinner he says my current software wasn't good.
Then he forced me to enable remote assistance and took me to the purchase for Business Package of distance page help for New World Services Inc. and forced me to enter my data I did. After completing the session, I received an email of New World Services Inc., saying that I had bought the business package and looking upward found only for four years. I then went to my Bank and the cashier told me it was a scam and I got mannaged to cancel the card before it empied my account although New World Services Inc. did take £252.00 my account and told them about the scam and that I don't want there services and do not call me.
I always get calls saying they are Microsoft Windows or they are malicious and calling about my computer with virus software and when I don't, thank you and hung up there have been moments when someone else says the exact same words as little as an hour later, well that people call regularly as now I know most of them as soon as they speak.
They installed ammyy to allow access through my firewall to send windows logs them so with selected McAfee frirwall and ammyy blocked as they had shown me the observer of events the adminastrative events and said cuircles reds are virouses and yellow triangles are malware. When I said that the red circle is when I did a forced when troubleshooting stop where I pressed the button for a few seconds.
Then I got a phone call saying could I turn on my computer as the info from my computer that has virouses and malware had said. If blocking ammyy had worked as before they were able to tell red any yellow order of events. So I then removed my computer ammyy and that they would not receive the ball more.
When after I dial to get phone calls not the last call, I get when they called and get that they do not have the number of appellants and it has afflicted me that sometimes there was as little as an hour between calls, it seems I'd barr the number of fraudsters and barr New World Services Inc. If they continue to call and if need be I have to change my phone number.
1. contact your credit card company, if you had given the scammer, your credit card number.
-Cancel the card and ask for a replacement with different identification number.
-If you have paid the scammer with your credit card. The card has been compromised.2. contact your bank.
-Change the account.
-Change the PIN code.3. If you saw the crook of remote access to your computer, it is compromised.
-Reinstall Vista
-Use another user name and password.4. talk to your local law enforcement... If you want to go that far.
-Ask to speak to people in the Department of wire fraud. See if something can be done about it.5. change the phone number.
-Scammers will call you. They will not stop. -
About Microsoft Windows unsolicited calls
I receive MANY phone calls unsolicited from a few different numbers which indicate that they are calling about an error message that is related to Microsoft Windows on my computer. I tried several times to inform the appellants that I don't want to talk to them, but they continue to remember over and over again. They clearly want a foreign country and I don't know what is the concert. Who are these people and how can I get rid of them?
SG
They are crooks, and once they have your phone number the only effective way to get rid of them is to change your phone number. You can probably contact your phone provider, and they MAY be able to help.

someone called me, collection of shells from Microsoft Windows and my computer is at risk. then tell me to go to the site if I can get the ID # so they can go to my computer and show me the problems. At first, I said no, but... anyway. My question is, they can get anything from my computer with out know me? I was looking for when he has been opening, where it says message Erro, to show me what he's talking about and don't see anything download, or by analyzing the files.
... then tell me to go on site if I can get the ID # so they can go to my computer and show me the problems.
... I was looking for when he has been opening, where it says message Erro, to show me what he's talking about and don't see anything download, or by analyzing the files. It sounds like you were forced to install TeamViewer or some similar remote desktop software. These are legitimate programs that will not be picked up by the antivirus or anti-malware analysis. The problem is that scammers use versions of free-to-use home to accomplish their nefarious means.
Uninstall and never leave anonymous 'expert' have access to your computer from the Internet.
