Allocation of 8 KB size

Anyone create an image Windows 7 gold with 8KB allocation size?

Seems what EMC is the only recommend it. We use a VNX for storage.

8 KB is recommended for the storage of some. Most of the people don't bother lining up these days, since there are a lot of automatic alignment there, but EMC recommends it should be no problem with a block size of 8K. I think that NetApp recommends that for some tables, so I don't think that EMC is alone.

There should be a lot of articles out there on the alignment of the partition with vmware and seen, I would search through those.

  • Linux kernel parameters and Oracle memory allocations.

I'm currently creating an Oracle 11 G R2 in database, on a Linux (SLES 11) OS. The software OS and DB are the two 64-bit.
I wondered about the optimal method of memory allocation shared, such that I can get the automatic memory management to recognize 12G of memory (which allows 4 g for the operating system and other pieces).

I put the kernel parameters are:
SHMMAX: 8589934592 (the recommended physical memory/2).
SHMALL: 3145728 (giving a total of 12 GB of shared memory allocation that the page size is 4096).

The way I read the documentation, it must free up enough shared memory to allow the specification of a memory_max_target and memory_target "11 g". I'm getting 11G to ensure that I am not ruin by a few bytes (if it all works, I will develop to 12G).
However, whenever I try a startup, I get the ' ORA-00845: not supported on this system MEMORY_TARGET' error.
It disappears if I create a great shmfs block using a mount command, but I was under the impression you had is no longer to do with 64-bit and Oracle 11 G system.

Could someone clarify a little bit about what I'm doing wrong and where I should be looking for the answer?

    See you soon,.

  • Try to cure a bottleneck of the circular network

    Hello

I have a bit of a bottleneck problem using a circular table. What I need is a buffer as the structure of doubles that will allow me to access an element at the end and to operate as efficiently as possible. I originally used a queue that took about 40 seconds to process a txt file that I use for testing. I changed to a circular table and am now at the 12 total seconds. I need to get faster if I can in this single buffer about 75% of my execution and is the single biggest bottleneck.

Are there any other structure I could use to keep a buffer of fixed size and go to the item at the end more effectively? I implement the table as efficiently as possible? I have attached my screws and screenshots. "simplefixedbuffer" is the circular matrix and "getNextCircularIndex" is the mechanism to update the pointers to the beginning and the end.

My assumption that it is the most effective way to do so is based on the belief that no copy of the entire table takes place inside the native labview function "Insert table" since I apply a fixed size for the table. Please correct me if this assumption is wrong or if there is another method of insertion I should use to avoid copying.

    Thank you!

You want to replace the subset not insert into the table. You are also allocating an array of size of buffer for each call.

  • Can I go back 5 months for system restore

To what extent is it possible to go back to system restore. ?

You will have a certain amount (%) of disk space allocated to system restore points. When this space is used, the oldest restore point is removed. To see how far behind you can go now it just look at the available restore points as it will vary with your % allocated space and the size of the hard drive.

You can allocate more space and therefore go further in the future. Of course you can not use this to create restore points in the past.

If you turn System Protection off then turn it back on it at any time as all the previous restore points will be deleted.

Bug control description: This indicates that the page frame number (PFN) list is corrupted.
This seems to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. This could be a case of corruption of memory. The corruption of memory more often happens because of software errors in the defective drivers buggy, not because of RAM modules.
The accident took place in the Windows kernel. Maybe this problem is caused by another driver who cannot be identified at this time.

I have this problem for a long time. I've updated the drivers, windows updates, no effect. But, for some reason, he did not seem since February. But Monday, I used MiniCygwin_GOptimize_v1.34.02 to compress files apk android. He uses a lot of CPU. And after that the BSOD began to reappear. Let me know the reason for these BSOD and how can I solve this problem.

    Hello

We have many bug different controls:

    PFN_LIST_CORRUPT (4th)

This indicates that the page frame number (PFN) list is corrupted.

This error is usually caused by a driver passing a list of descriptor of bad memory. For example, the pilot could call MmUnlockPages twice with the same list.

    MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (1A)

This indicates that an error occurred serious memory management.

    Error checking 1A, {5003, fffff780c0000000, 6933, 64ba0002d266}

-1 setting of the bug check is 5003 which lists free work is corrupt. It is probably a hardware error.

We also have another 1st parameter:

    Error checking 1 a, {fffff6800005cf40, eab00001beb34867,403, fffff6fc00df59a0}

    - Parameter 1 of the bug check is 403 which indicates the page table and NFPs are out of sync. It is also probably a clerical error.

^^ Pointed out that both of the above can still be caused by a driver causing corruption, but it is generally unlikely.

    And another...

    Error checking 1A, {41284, 159a0e001, 104 d 57, fffff70001080000}

-1 setting of the bug check is 41284 indicating a PTE or the fixed work list is corrupted.

Please run Memtest for NOT LESS than 8 ~ (several hours):

    Memtest86 +:

    Download Memtest86 + here:

    http://www.memtest.org/

    Which should I download?

You can either download the ISO pre-built you want to burn to a CD and then boot from the CD, or you can download the automatic installer of the USB. What this will do is format your USB drive, make a boot device and then install the necessary files. Both do the same job, it's just you that you choose, or you have available (be it CD or USB).

Note that some older generation motherboards do not support USB boot, your only option is CD (or floppy if you really wanted to).

    How Memtest works:

Memtest86 writes a series of test patterns for most of the addresses of memory, reads the written data and compares it to find errors.

The default pass is 9 different tests, varying in the modes of access and test data. A tenth test, bland, is selectable in the menu. He wrote all the memory with zeros, then sleeps 90 minutes before checking to see if the bits have changed (perhaps because of refresh problems). This is repeated with all those for a total time of 3 hours by pass.

Many chipsets can report RAM speed and timings by SPD (Serial Presence Detect) or EPP (Enhanced Performance Profiles), and some even support changing the expected memory speed. If the expected memory speed is overclockee, Memtest86 can test that memory is free of error with these faster settings.

Some hardware is able to report the status of the "PAT" (PAT: active or PAT: disabled). This is a reference to the Intel performance acceleration technology; There may be the BIOS settings that affect this aspect of memory synchronization.

This information, if it is available for the program, can be displayed via a menu option.

  • Something wrong with hard disk resizing

I'm under 4.1.2 and you just import my Windows 7 Bootcamp machine into a true virtual computer.  I ran out of disk space while trying to install new software in Windows so I stopped and went settings to resize the virtual disk.  While the machine of Bootcamp was 30 GB the setting for the new machine watch as GB 465,76, which is be the size of the Lion partition on the hard drive.  Knowing it's not right and something can happen when importing, I tried shrinking the machine by following the process here.  No dice, my machine stills shows the drive as being 465,76 GB and I can't do the 60 GB I would.  I'm afraid to try anything else without posting everything here first.  Any tips or ideas on what I am doing wrong?

    -Dave

What you see is the (although IMO the wrong) way that VMware matter partition Boot Camp to a Virtual Machine however based file so that you can not reduce the allocated virtual hard disk size but you can change the size of the virtual partition to increase the space available on the disk by removing the not used OS X in the virtual hard disk partition.

For general information, take a look at my answer: Re: counterintuitive VMWare Instructions on resize virtual disk

I install the Oracle BI Applications 11.1.1.7 on Linux OS. While running the utility BI Apps RCU, after you select the components of Oracle BI Application and tablespaces and clicking Next, I get an error message: ORA-01917: user or role DEV_DW does not exist. I would like to mention that the dmp files have been copied to a globally accessible folder writable on the machine hosting the database server. Anyone faced with a similar question? Please let me know a workaround.

The database version is not a problem. We need to make it sufficient disk space to accommodate the set tablespace size. The error message is misleading, but then on checking space, disk and allocation of the smaller sizes for tablespaces the problem has been resolved.

  • PS Format custom Plugin - problem reading files > 2 GB & < 4GB

This question is fixable in our format plugin code, or is this a limitation of photoshop?

I am new to Photoshop and Photoshop Plugins.  I have reviewed the documentation of the photoshop sdk & searched the web on this topic.

I work with a plugin for photoshop format written by my predecessor, who is no longer here.

The plugin is inspired the simpleFormat plugin.

The plugin is used on systems running Photoshop CS6 & CC on 64-bit Windows 7 with 8 GB or more of memory.

The plugin allows a file of our formula to be opened, read, and written.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------

    (2) you are more unsigned32 flowing. That max out at 4 GB. Your request for 5 gig is really 1 gig.

  • recommendation of the number of ASM disks on 11 GR 2

    Hi all

    I'm deployment RAC Oracle 11 g 2 + ASM AIX6.1 and an EMC SAN.

I am planing to create three groups of disks DATA, FRA, and OCR, I use external redundancy.
    I have the questions:

How many records you create for each group of records? is there any number of disks recommended for the DATA and FRA?
FRA: This is for the flash recovery area disk group so all the backups will be stored here. should have the size of the DATA multiplied by 2?
OCR: Will contain OCR and voting disks, is it enough not to have only a single drive since I'm on external redundancy? What is the recommendation?

    Kind regards

    Hello

What is the right way to create my ASM disks? If I follow these steps, I should find the/dev / disks in my ASM_DISKS list? and then, of these discs, I can create my groups of disks?

Yes... It is simpler than Linux (when you use MPIO or ASMLIB)... On AIX you just set the permission on/dev/rhdisk and asm_diskstring/dev/rhdis *, you need to create partition (LV) on these physical disks.

These permissions are constantly, only returning to the default root: System in case of device to remove/add.

    You must use rhdisk hdisk.

The special file rhdisk provides first IO functions to access and control to physical disk for the physical disk device drivers. Access IO gross is provided through the/dev/rhdisk0, / dev/rhdisk1,..., character special files.

Direct access to physical disks through block special files should be avoided. This access may affect the performance and also cause problems of consistency of the data between the data and the data in the buffer cache pages system block I/O. Special files/dev/hdisk block are reserved for the system in the management of logical volumes, paging devices and file systems.

    Important: the physics of the disks MUST NOT have PVID. {: identifier of the thread = 2312281}

DOC said: Oracle recommends that the allocation unit (to THE) size for a group of disks attached to 4 megabytes (MB).
Definition of SIZE is a difference when you don't need broadband to e/s. IE: used for Diskgroup that will store the data files

  • How can I specify the AU_SIZE attribute in YES

    Hello

How can I specify the AU_SIZE when I create the Group of disks for disk OCR and vote when I install the House of GI.
Basically, I want to create the disk with AU_SIZE group as 4MB when I create Via YES. I know that I can change the attributes when I using ASMCA. But not sure, YES.

    Please can someone guide me?

    Concerning
    Joe

    Hey Joe,

Did you mean that I will need to move the OCR/vote * to an another diskgroup-> drop those created during installtion--> recrerate the diskgroup with AU_SIZE as you wish

Yes... you should move the OCR, VOTING and ASM SPFILE to an another diskgroup and recreate the diskgroup.

DOC said: Oracle recommends that the allocation unit (to THE) size for a group of disks attached to 4 megabytes (MB).
I don't see any benefits to configure the 4MBytes to THE SIZE for diskgroup that will store only the Clusterware files.
The voting are stored directly on the drive of the ASM (i.e. not at THE SIZE of use). The OCR file and use ASM SPFILE to THE SIZE, but are not frequently consulted (low e/s) and files are too small to set up to 4MBytes.

SIZE of the game by THE way a difference when you don't need broadband to e/s. IE: used for Diskgroup that will store the data files.

I recommend that read my point of view how to store files of VOTING, OCR and SPFILE ASM about ASM.

  • Problem with the compilation of AIR with the (police) Embed tag

    Hello

I have an application developed for AIR. When I compile it without the fonts I need to incorporate it is compiled without a problem when I add the Embed tags then it compiles, but when it runs, it cannot be used, the input text fields are not accessible.

Has anyone encountered this problem? What could be the possible reasons?

Here's an example of how I embed fonts.

[Embed (systemFont = "FreeSans", embedAsCFF = 'false', fontName = "FreeSansEmbed", mimeType = "application/x-font")]

    private var freeSansFont: Class;

    Thank you

    Ana

I tried a long time ago and had some success (but I did day to 2.7 and 3.0, not directly to 3.0, don't know if this is important):

    http://blog.prevail.co.nz/2011/06/21/overlaying-air2-7-in-Flash-CS5/

You can change the allocation of Java heap size and increasing the memory available to it often allows compiles to happen. Flash CS5.0 you can find this setting in this file:

    C:\Users\[your USER] \AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS5\en_US\Configuration\ActionScript 3.0\jvm.ini

I have bolded en_US because obviously we English, change your language if necessary.

Adjust the value-Xmx128m to-Xmx256m (128 MB-> 256 MB) and try that. You can also try to go to 512 m, but I had a few teething problems of the java virtual machine using a lot of ram (don't know why). This will increase the amount of RAM, the compilation process is allowed to use.
