  I bought my new HP Officejet 6700 Premium on February 1, 2013. I use a HP Pavilion dm4 laptop under Windows 7 Home Premium. The installation seems to give no problem. However I'm unable to set the default printer and have the error message 0 x 00000709. Excel, Adobe, Outlook does not allow me to print.

  I spoke to the HP printer Department February 1st and they sent me some software of diagnosis which I sent back. I called again on 6 February and was told my problem was always open and they were trying to reproduce the problem (it appears on the net without a patch work). It is now February 10, and I hope the good people of HP to recall with a solution soon. You try to run a small business with no printer is not ideal.

  I ran HP utility, installed uninstalled the driver etc etc etc.

  I seem to have fixed the problem by changing in the registry keys. If HP wants a donation to charity, I would be happy to provide it to them :-)

  I'm having a problem with one of the users on my setup of server companies. She is unable to set a default printer and cannot print from Excel 2010 to all. However, while on the terminal even when I login as administrator, everything works perfectly.   Most of the documents that I print is for internal purposes, so "Draft" quality is sufficient.

  The default factory on the print quality setting is 'Normal '. I know how manually enter and restore the "draft", but I'd rather have the defaultproject, so I have to reset it manually each time.

  I could not find how to permanently fix the draft quality defect.

  Please follow the steps below to change the quality of the printer:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. In the menu, click devices and printers.
  3. Right click on the HP Officejet 6700 icon.
  4. Click Printing Preferences.
  5. Enter the tab paper / quality .
  6. Select the project in the area of quality parameters.
  7. Click OK to save the settings.

  Now any future printing will be in draft quality.

I go to the windows printer properties and set them in landscape mode.  There are two places to change, a Preferences tab and a default Advanced tab and I did both. When I print from Notepad they always print portrait. In Notepad, I can make them print landscape, but I have to change it every time. So, I want the default to be the landscape. How to make default in mode landscape.

  My client found their solution. You had to install an older version of the drivers and then the printer would stay in landscape mode.

  It is now resolved. Go to page-> main Section layout model, press F4. In the palette property, select the Orientation that should be selected when printing is taken for this report.
