  I watched updates of the audio driver for my pc and am not sure which one I need or you can even use it.

  Although "4.1" speaker systems are very common, the ADA745 should work without problems on a new system.  I have no connection to the ADA745 info but I guess it would connect everything as you are currently connected to the old PC.  New systems PC audio supports up to 7.1 speaker (with the most common 2.1 or 5.1) systems.  There is no drivers for speakers, however, you need to define the types of speakers in the control panel (e.g. article 4.1, and if this isn't an option, try the 5.1 and see if works well).   Printed with the new PC installation worksheet should detail the audio connections and if not, there is a copy of the Dell manual loaded on your PC and it has the details on the back panel connections.

  In Vista, the sound control panel is accessible by Start/Control Panel/hardware and sound/Sound.

• XPS 8500 and Altec Lansing ACS340 speaker connection

  Just the XPS8500. Had a Dell Dimension 5150 connected to Altec Lancing speakers. These speakers have a line of output to the subwoofer at the entrance of the computer. The problem is the 8500 has several entries and none seem to work to get the speakers works. I don't have his helmet, but still no speakers.   It was OK, although there are 3 plug-ins at this time on the subwoofer. I had not disconnected it during the installation of new computer.   Please go to Device Manager and click on the multimedia audio controller needing drivers and display the material for her ID.

  There are two variants of the audio driver conexant ac-link.

  One for laptops equipped with gear AMD and the other for laptops equipped with Intel processor.

  There is only this one on zv6000 (for AMD laptops) support page.

  I recently bought a HP - dv6 WF536AV laptop.

  Sounds was appropriated by the built-in Altec Lansing speakers, until I updated the audio drivers through the Support of HP utility.

  Now I don't get any reading of the above speakers, but just by plugging my iPod headphones, there is audio in the headphones.

  I tried to reinstall the driver IDT Audio Support HP utility as well as a download from the Web site:

  To check if the update upset part of Windows, try the following:

  Shut down the PC.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to bring up the Windows Recovery console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press return.  When this mode is loaded up, click on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point a day before November 21 (that is to say November 20 or 19 Nov) and to restore.  When windows has restarted, see if your speakers work now.

  Hi, I tried to downgrade from vista to XP and restarting the laptop after copying all the files from the XP CD, appears "Error loading operating system".

  I tested my HARD drive in the other laptop and it starts normally, I did format and then I put in my laptop. I tried to install XP and everything was successful. I could install XP. I am very happy and I did not buy a new HARD drive.

  After researching on your laptop, it has Altec Lansing speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio built. It will generate "5.1 sound quality.

  When playing DVDs on my new laptop, the sound is not loud enough. I can hear the sound, he just needs to be stronger to enjoy movies.
