The IDT pilot update = no sound from integrated speakers

I recently bought a HP - dv6 WF536AV laptop.

Sounds was appropriated by the built-in Altec Lansing speakers, until I updated the audio drivers through the Support of HP utility.

Now I don't get any reading of the above speakers, but just by plugging my iPod headphones, there is audio in the headphones.

I tried to reinstall the driver IDT Audio Support HP utility as well as a download from the Web site:

IDT High-Definition Audio Driver 6.10.6289.0

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-86241-1 & lc = on & dlc = in & cc = us &...

However, nothing is resolved.

From what I've heard in various articles on the web, was that the new driver sets the helmet as the primary device for the audio output, and therefore it does not reach the speakers.

Also, I'm sure of this fact not be a material conflict as the laptop was bought recently and I rarely used the headphone jack.

Here are the details on my system:

Hello

To check if the update upset part of Windows, try the following:

Shut down the PC.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to bring up the Windows Recovery console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press return.  When this mode is loaded up, click on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point a day before November 21 (that is to say November 20 or 19 Nov) and to restore.  When windows has restarted, see if your speakers work now.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Kind regards

as mentioned in the topic, the machine is acer aspires e5 - 532g, os: windows 8.1.

There is no sound coming from the built-in speakers. they are the default device and are not dumb. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver several times, used the driver from the CD-ROM of resources goes hand in hand with Notepad, uploaded to the site and the acer site realtek and still no sound. However, if I connect an external speaker (a stereo cd player), it plays the sound.

the laptop is brand new, so of course I had no time to break

any idea, fellows? struggle with this since 3 days, read tons of forums and cannot always know whats wrong

Because the laptop is new I guess the wire to the speaker on the motherboard connector has come loose, or the wires were pinched during Assembly. If you new enoough, just swap out with your provider. If it's a little too late for that, contact Acer support and they will repair it for you.

  • Satellite L755 - 1 CD a very silent sound from its speakers

    Hello

I would ask for assistance if there is what I can do to have a very powerful sound on my new laptop Toshiba satellite L755 - 1 CD.

I put the speakers at the highest volume possible, but sound from its speakers is very, very quiet, so I can't listen to music if I am just a few meters away from my laptop or when my friends call me on Skype.

Sometimes I can't hear the sound if I'm not very close to the laptop. It has to be really quiet in the room that I hear music or talking to someone on Skype. The sound is not bad, just too quiet.
It has speakers onkyo and I thing that they don't work well, or the volume control is not properly set.

PLS, let me know if I can improve the volume elsewhere that in its volume control (I put the volume louder) or can I save somehow if my speakers are working properly.

    Thanks in advance.

    > Sometimes I can't hear the sound if I'm not very close to the laptop. It has to be really quiet in the room that I hear music or talking to someone on Skype. The sound is not bad, just too quiet.

Have you noticed that silent sound using Skype only?
If Yes, then I would recommend checking the settings of Skype.
There you will find the audio options for microphone and speakers.

In addition you can got to control panel-> sound-> the Read tab
Here, you mark the speakers press the properties button. New window should appear and there you have to choose the levels tab. Here, you can increase the volume level too.

    Hello

Mute key functionality is provided by IDT Audio software, so the problem may be that Windows 8 has installed a reference driver that does not contain.  Often, the Windows 7 version works Ok, so I would try downloading and installing the following driver IDT.

Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

Check if the speakers are working correctly in Device Manager.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. on the desktop, press the Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and press enter to open the Device Manager.

    b. develop sound video and game controllers and right click on the driver.

    c. select Properties , and then check to see if the device works properly under Device Status.

Is there a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside, then it indicates that there are some problems with it.

  • After updating the BIOS, there is no sound from my computer.

I just updated my computer with a new BIOS and there is no sound.

Very disappointed with HP. I tried a hard reset and it did not work.

My product is hp pavilion g6

    Product number: QE06UA #ABA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    Hey, Dan:

I don't have your model of PC, so here's some generic instructions.

Turn on the PC and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the F10 key to access the BIOS.

There should be a menu to save the default settings and the outputs, when you go to exit the BIOS.

That's all there is to it.

I can't find your model number to give you the link to the audio driver from the support page and pilot.

If you have the IDT audio chip, here is the latest driver for it.

Or let me know what model of audio device you have and I'll see what I can find if not the audio IDT.

  • "Tinny" sound from internal speakers Dell XPS 1645

I got my Dell XPS 1645 for about 4-5 years so maybe it's just a problem of wear.

I am running Chrome and watch a stream on twitch.tv August 23 to about 75% volume level when there was a sharp fall in terms of audio quality; now everything seems thin / no bass/distortion plus silent.

Audio performance was great before this event and always beautiful with headphones (this is the internal speakers which are reached).

To clarify, the sound is muffled or spindly; It is not a noise or interference and the volume settings have not been changed as to cause this effect to my knowledge.

I tried all the solutions I could find but I would like to know if there is something I don't understand!

I uninstalled the IDT drivers and reinstalled from the dell site and other sites, I tried to use the default Microsoft drivers.

I ran the Diagnostics Dell PC Checkup trials; speakers pass.

I've disabled the improvements and messed around with properties of speaker without result.

Speakers can still go to 100% flight (of course, this sounds horrible). Also, I have never historically played audio at levels like that nor I had problems with the audio in the past.

I blew my speakers? Is there a loose connection? More important is there anything I can try or do? I prefer not having to pay massive amounts of replacements because it will mean probably deserting me a ship from Dell for good and get a nice update!

Hello. The Studio XPS 1645 model had a "subwoofer". He has probably stopped working on your device. If you want to replace or are looking for a loose connection, you can get the service manual with instructions for the page documents Studio 1645, and the play itself is going for $5-10 on ebay.

  • Cracking sound from two speakers of Inspiron core i3 3520.

Working perfectly with the system but headphones/external audio after update of the Bios. Only we get a crackling sound from the speaker. My daughter used a few days back to a local cultural ceremony. The organizers used their own audio output jack and I think that's the reason. Now, when my daughter contacted the Dell service center they informed that the card mother all had to be replaced. After the Bios update since both the helmet and the external audio system started working, they agreed to change any defective part, if it is necessary. Now, I would check the audio jack myself. Is it possible to replace

    Soumitram59
Only we get a crackling sound from the speaker.

Hello. Does this mean that you get only a crackling speakers? Or you get audio which is accompanied by cracking?

    Soumitram59
Now, I would check the audio jack myself. Is it possible to replace

To check the headphone jack you will need to disassemble the laptop. To help you in this task, go to the Inspiron 15 3520 manuals page and download the PDF titled "manual." It's actually the repair with instructions step by step for the replacement of parts. See the manual correctly, you must open it in Adobe Reader, not display in your browser.

I try to maintain a list of laptops Dell with replaceable headphone Sockets. To the best of my knowledge the plug in the 3520 is not a replaceable part. If you look at the picture on page 69 of the instructions, you can clearly see the audio jacks. They seem to be attached to the motherboard and not on a separate circuit. There are also other research I've done which makes me think that the shots are not on a separate Panel. So if you want to replace the Jack I think you'll have to work on the motherboard. To get a replacement jack may require a recovery one to another motherboard. If you disassemble the laptop, you should be able to make a better decision. But remember that if you work on the motherboard, you you the warranty for this part.

    Soumitram59
Now, when my daughter contacted the Dell service center they informed that the card mother all had to be replaced.

If audio is fine through the headphone jack, but the speakers are crackling, I think that the speakers should be replaced. I do not understand the logic you want to replace the motherboard or audio jacks. If there is no sound from the speakers at all, so I suspect an sensor impedance failed in the headphone jack, but not if the speakers work, however badly.

    Soumitram59
They agreed to change any defective part, if it is necessary.

Dell no longer has a hardware diagnostic tool dedicated for audio as it was, so now the only tool is to restore the laptop to set up factory of origin. That will fix problems audio software so if all the symptoms remain, the cause is faulty material. However, I don't think it's necessary in your case. (BTW, restoration of the laptop would not cancel the update of the BIOS, you did, because the BIOS is in rom and changes made to the hard drive.)

  • Sound from internal speakers past (iMac 21.5 mid-2011, Yosemite 10.10.5)

Sound still works when I connect my headset (or other device) to the audio output.

Sound still works when I connect to my USB external sound card.

Internal speakers still work (I can hear the start-up tone when I turn on the machine).

In preferences / system I see "Digital output" instead of "internal speaker".

    Plug and remove the headphones.
