AMD Phenom II N660 vs AMD Phenom II N970

Hi all, I was wondering that one would be better for the use of things like the CC of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and Sony vegas Pro. The N660 is a dual core 3.0Ghz and the N970 is a 2.2 Ghz Quad. I'm not going to be game on it and that these programs it will be used for the internet. I just need what is better for overall performance and programs. Thank you!

Standard.

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the upgrade of processor in my laptop.

Product name: HP Pavilion Notebook PC g6

    Product number: QJ283EA #ABU

The processor I bought is an AMD Phenom II N660, which is supposed to be compatible according to this pdf:

    http://www.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02770249.PDF

However when I took my laptop apart to place the new processor, the processor socket does not match the pins of the processor. Hope that makes sense? I'm not an expert in computers, but have some knowledge about them.

What can I do? I can do to solve this problem, such as buying a new CPU socket or is this something that can be changed? From what I can tell the processor seems to be compatible according to the information on the above pdf file, shouldn't the pins so the same thing?

Thanks for reading and I hope that someone knows how to help me!

If the initially installed CPU of AMD E-Series, then the card system accepts only processors socket BGA413 .

If the CPU is an AMD processor, A-series then was FS1

The CPU you have purchased is a Socket S1 type (S1g4).

The upgrade of the processor requires a bit more to watch maintenance & Service guide as a reference. The guide assumes that you have all the knowledge of the accessory. This is why tt is intended for HP Service centers and technicians.

    Kind regards

  • HP g6 1b60us apu upgrade?

I was hoping to upgrade my laptop an a4 amd apu - 3300 m to an amd a8 - 3500 m. The two apu uses 35watts and fs1 decision-making. APU is not persevered to the Board of Directors. I don't care about voiding my warranty if I have one, I bought my computer. Would it still work? My system could do?

    Data sheet:

    HP g6-1b60us charcoal grey 15 ", windows 8 x 64

AMD a4 - 3300 m to 1.9 Ghz with Turbo (automatic overclocking up to 2.5 Ghz)

    hard drive 500 GB

    BIOS version f.46

Updated... better and more accurate information:

By comparing your g6-1b60us (Maintenance and Service of Guide) MSG MSG g6-1d60us... Below, we see that all items in Green are the same for both systems. The Red shows the differences in the GSM. We also know the the 1b60us g6 and g6-1d60us use the same BIOS F.48, as you pointed out earlier. After reviewing the MSGs, I confirmed a set of maps of common system and a common BIOS, so I am confident that the processors listed in the g6-1d60us MSG should work in your g6-1b60us without a problem. As usual, there is no guarantee of it being reliable at 100% and you assume all risk for the installation of a non-usine CPU in your computer.

  • G6-1A60US: upgrade my CPU

I want to improve my CPU on my G6-1A60US. The current CPU is the ATHLON II P360 2.3 GHZ 35W DC. So here's where to find issues.

My card mother manufacturer is 640893-001.  Here are all the processors and laptops G6 supported:

When I read that the HP Pavilion G6 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide of the additional processors also show compatible which are not one of the above models.

AMD Phenom II N970 (2.2 GHz, 2 MB
    L2, 1333 MHz, 3.6 GT/s - Quad 35 W

AMD Phenom II N870 (2.3 GHz, 1.5 MB

    AMD V140 (2.3 GHz, 512 KB L2, 1066
    MHz, 3.2 GT/s) - SC 25 W

As my current Board has a cpu of 35w and can support 1333 mhz bandwidth memory I want to go with the N970 to get the best out of the laptop.  But is it really compatible?  No G6 model came with it from the factory, but the service manual says it should work.

If I'm stuck with CPU options that were available in the listed G6 models is the P960 my best option?  Is the P650 a real core triple the overal etc. ghz a better choice? I mean am I missing up to GHZ, Mgz, carrots, as well as single vs multitreading relative to each other?  I've been watching the numbers and comparing EVERYTHING and at this point, am not afraid to ask for help.

From the looks of it being an AMD processor that I'd get the Quad Core, if it is not too expensive get...

    CPU phenom II N970 635496-001 (2.2 GHz, 2 MB L2, 1333 MHz, 3.6GT / s), Quad 35W

    CPU phenom II P960 634689-001 (1.8 GHz, 2 MB L2, 1066 MHz, 3.6GT / s), Quad 25W

Otherwise, you could try a core 3 x but remember not all games will use more then one basic, except if they are written to use more then one or 2 x core.

But if I were you I would consider selling the laptop AMD and get an iNtel based processor you will have better battery life and the system performance improved compared to AMD processors.

    Repair manuals

Compatible AMD processors listed on the bottom of page 1 to page 2. Top of page processor is

    AMD Phenom™ II N970 (2.2 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 1333 MHz, 3.6 GT/s - Quad 35 W)

You have already disassembled it to the bottom for the jury so start at 75. The N970 will be a quick replacement for your processor. It is not soldated or even welded; It is nested. The P360 is a dual core 2.3 GHz and the N970 is a Quad at 2.2 ghz. I think you'll find that the improvement is subtle, unless you do a lot of multi-threads apps.

  • Uprgading a laptop older

Hello, I'm Chris. I have a HP dv6 3259wm. Its a portable older and I wanted to update the processor from the AMD Phenom II Triple P860 2.00 GHz processor to something with more power. I installed the maximum amount of ram but wanted to get more out of it. I went through the list of compatible processors by manufacturing publications but don't know if I need to change anything else, during the passage of the processors. Any suggestions?

    Here is the Manual:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02659236.PDF

See Page 25. All AMD processors work on all the mothers AMD variety.

The CPU you want is this:

AMD Phenom II N970 Quad 2.20 GHz processor (2, 0 MB L2 cache, 1333 MHz FSB, 35W, 3.6 gigatransfers per second)

The processor is $ 50 on eBay:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/AMD-Phenom-II-quad-core-2-2-GHz-2-MB-quad-core-mobile-N970-HMN970DCR42GM-S1g4-/321472803911?PT=CPUs&hash=item4ad945b447

This is a drop in replacement. Just to be on the safe side, I would upgrade to the latest version of the BIOS before proceeding with the Exchange, but even that shouldn't be necessary. Clean around the fan/radiator and fan outlets and apply the paste heat high quality barely just coating the silvery central part of the transformer. that is the core. Polishing the bottom surface of the radiator and clean the fan blades with alcohol and dry thoroughly.

Don't expect huge gains. The increase of 3 to 4 hearts will not even usable in many programs and 2.0 to 2.2 ghz isn't a big bump. The basic architecture of the bus and memory speed will not change. Certainly not, I spend more than $50 on this. More than upgrades to older hardware attempts are ultimately a disappointment.

Yes if the mother takes the P650, it will also take the N970. Cards mothers AMD to use them, because the series is able to take dual core or quad processors. See Page 23. And the N970 is on the compatibility list. See Page 1.

  • Upgrading RAM for Dv6-3206AX? Maximum supported RAM

    Hi all

I am in need to upgrade my memory of's laptop (DV6-3206AX). At the present time it is 4 GB and I thought to upgrade to 16 GB.

The reason for this upgrade is, I work as a developer and use many technologies and software requiring a huge memory tell SharePoint, SQL Server, DMS systems. I tend to play with these technologies on my laptop and of course to learn and build solutions. Now 2013 SharePoint requires more memory, I would need to increase the memory of my laptop.

My concern, I am not sure weather my laptop wouldn't support 16 GB or not? If so, then this high memoery would result in additional heating.

    Configuration of the laptop

    • AMD Phenom II N970 (4 c, 2.20 GHz/4 x 512 KB / 3.6GTs)
    • 4 GB RAM DDR3

    • DVD +/-RW double layer with LightScribe drive

    • AMD Radeon HD 6550 (discreet, dedicated 1 GB)
    • 10/100/1000 LAN, 802.11 b/g/n WLAN

  • G4-11125dx: USB Driver issues HP Pavilion g4-1125dx Notebook PC model #: LW342UA

    Hello.  I have a:

    HP Pavilion g4-1125dx Notebook PC

    Model #: LW342UA

When it has been upgraded to windows 10 I lost all USB functionality.  The Device Manager uses a driver, but it does not work properly.  "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" and "Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller" have the yellow exclaimation points with the USB symbol next to them.  Under properties, it reads:

Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    {Unable to load device driver}
HS device driver could not be loaded.
    Error status is 0 x %x

When I try to roll back the driver nothing is available.  When I try to update, it says I already have the best driver.  I tried the windows update and Easy Driver software but no luck there.

I confirmed that I do infact has power to make ports (USB fan :/) so I don't think that it is a hardware problem, especially since it worked before upgrade.)

I know that its a laptop older, but I upgraded the CPU to a quad core Phenom II N970 and this 'thing' is running if good, I do not give up on it.  Ethernet and wireless are working properly and there is no other troubled hardware issue.

    Thanks in advance,

    Cory

I tried to go back to windows 7, but I've been spending the period from 30.  The laptop is not the recovery disks, or a partition to do.  For the heck of it I advanced and reinstalled windows 10.  Now the USB ports work correctly so I guess it was something that happened during the initial upgrade?  Anyway thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, it is not possible to upgrade the processor of your laptop. This also the warranty, as your laptop is designed for optimal performance on the installed equipment.

  • HP 6005-t: AMD Phenom II X 6 1090 t. Black Edition in a HP 6005-T motherboard?

This model is the full size PC 6005-T and I'd like to put my amd ahtlon x 6 1090 t. inside. I know that there could be a problem if it does not FIT because of 938 pines against 939 so I'd be careful to see that he does and maybe a power issue 95w (?) but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a x 6 can work since x4s make as much. This is the AMD Phenom II X 6 1090 t. Black Edition (3.2 GHz) that uses 104 vs 92 watts idle (?) according to some website. Apparently, it's 125 watt TDP.

    Thank you.

AMD Black Edition CPU are generally not supported by motherboards with AMD platforms desktop PC. BIOS support just isn't there.

The same thing applies when someone plans to use a processor Intel Extreme CPU for a desktop with an Intel platform.

Support the card mother socket AM3 CPU, but not all.

See the list of compatible processors from AMD for motherboard of your desktop in the following HP Web document.

  • AMD Phenom II x 6 1045t has two unused cores

Hello, I had a computer p7-1020 HP for about two or three years now and have recently encountered a problem. I changed the pc heavily, to the point that I traded the amd quad-core cpu that comes standard for the hex-core Phenom II x 6. However, while they inspected my system to make sure that everything went smoothly, I was shocked to discover my computer was still considered a quad-core processor.

As you can see, despite the fact that my device manager clearly recognizes that there are six available cores, the system chose to implement only four of them. On other computers, this would be easily solved by accessing the BIOS and activating the lost hearts. However, the BIOS of my computer doesn't have the option to do so. The most I can do is choose the power settings.

So, my question is, how do I activate the nuclei which, for one reason or another, has disabled my system if I can't do it through the BIOS? I would like if possible, avoid flashing a new BIOS or buying a new motherboard entirely.

    Hello

You might have a couple of 'parking cores' to save on food.

Make sure that your power settings in the control panel under Power Options are high performance. From the windows run it, enter: MSCONFIG and see the Boot advanced options and make sure that the number of processors is unchecked.

Try to clear the CMOS memory.

Download a referral program which is able to run six cores CPU or more to the maximum. Before you begin the referral program, open the Task Manager-> performance-> CPU tab and review the number of processors and leave the open windwos. Run the benchmark and let it run for 2-3 minutes and return to the performance monitor. See all active nuclei?
