Amplifier of graphics compatibility

This isn't really a problem, it's more a question of compatibility, which I imagine is rare in this forum, but I couldn't find a better place to ask this question.

I have an Alienware M14x-R2 beginning 2012. When I bought this laptop, I wasn't expecting to play games like BF 4, where I get barely 45 fps. If I were on a console, it would be nice, but I'm not a peasant. So I want to put the graphic amplifier, but I don't know if it is compatible with my laptop, because I have found conflicting results of a Google search. I even went to the second page, a place where few have gone before and found nothing. So I came here to ask if the amplifier is compatible with my laptop and if not if I have other options.

Sorry for the life story btw

It is almost impossible at this point for any laptop made before 2014 to have the support of GA. A special PCI-E port is required to make it work, and only recent line-ups have this port.

There are other ways to get an external GPU without going through the AG for your laptop, but it will require you to renounce your wifi card and run a bandwidth less than the AG.

  • HP Pavilion p7 - 1227c: GDDR5 graphics compatibility question card XFX Radeon R9 380 4GB with HP Pavilion p7 - 127c?

I bought this Radeon R9 380 4 GB from Ebay and installed it in my computer, but it won't work. Turn fans of the graphics card but the PC screen remains black. I contacted the seller who said that the video card has been tested prior to shipment and that it may be a compatibility issue with my PC. I know that this graphics card has a PCI Express 3.0 interface 16 x so that my PC has a PCI Express 2.0, but I don't think that this could be a problem.

Do you know if there is a problem of compatibility between the graphics card XFX Radeon R9 380 4 GB of GDDR5 memory and the HP Pavilion p7 - 127C?

Note: I move the power supply to 650W.

    @Astyx, welcome to the forum.

You are right that the PCIe 3.0 is backward compatible with PCIe 2.0.  However, your problem is the motherboard.  The Radeon card requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a Legacy BIOS. The BIOS may not be walking in the UEFI.  PCIe 3.0 cards requiring UEFI will not work in any other location.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  The latest maps to exploit without UEFI are the GTX 660/670.

  • 970 GTX inside X 51 R3 WITH GTX 1070 inside the amplifier of graphics... it'll work?

    Hello

I currently own X 51 R3 (10, 16 GB RAM, processor i7 Windows) with card GTX970 video inside.  I was wondering if I could add an extra video GTX 1070 card via featuring graphics amplifier and connect it to my X 51.  Would this work?  If so, install the driver for the 970 & 1070?  Thank you.

Yes, it should work.  You won't see a performance advantage or anything but the delivery of two cards.  The 1080 does not fit into the X 51 (or if it integrates?).  You'll just need a driver - NVIDIA has a design of unified drivers, so a driver covers all of their modern maps.

  • Amplifier Alienware Graphics issue

    Hi all

I will receive my newly ordered Alienware 17 R3 and the amplifier. In fact, now I haven't decided to buy what kind of desktop GPU in my amp, but the amplifier has the usb connectors, which can be my home station to connect the external mouse, hard drives. I wonder if the amplifier usb slots will work without any inserted GPU. I'm back to alienware products and hope to get a reply.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Yes, they should work even if you do not have the video card installed in the amplifier. Try it and let us know if you encounter any problems.

  • Alienware graphics amplifier 452-BBQN vs 9R7XN

    Hello

I bought a laptop Alienware 17 A3 several months in the United States, then moved to another country.

Now, I want to buy an amplifier of graphics.

However, when I look at the graphic amplifier to the United States, the model number is 9R7XN. In the United Kingdom, the model number is 452-BBQN.

Are these separate products? Alienware have done fashion that one model of the amplifier of graphics?

    Thank you

    Hello

No, there is only one version of the graphics of Alienware amplifier, but the part number may be different according to regions.

  • Reboot Loop/No Boot - Alienware 17R3 - amplifier with Asus GTX 1080 Turbo graphics

I have a new graphics card this week, a Turbo of Asus GTX 1080, but I have questions about the use with the amplifier of graphics.

My laptop is a 17R3 of Alienware.

The Board fits perfectly, there is only a single power connector and it is fastened to the GPU.

When I connect the graphic amplifier and power the laptop it keep turning on/off as an infinite reboot cycle.

Maybe this specific version of 1080 GTX (Asus GTX 1080 Turbo) is not compatible with the graphics amplifier?

My previous video, a 980Ti ACX 2.0 EVGA card works just fine and if I plug this GPU to another computer also works.

I do not think that associates the PSU of GA, but who knows?

Everyone knows who? Has anyone tried this GPU with GA?

    Hi Chris!

Well, I traded Turbo 1080 GTX from Asus to a 1080 GTX from MSI, and now everything works perfectly!

So, I can confirm that the MSI GeForce 1080 Aero 8 G works perfectly with the AGM!

    Thanks for all your support.

    Kind regards

  • Graphic amplifier purchase options

So I'm on screen for the customization of Alienware 13 and I want a graphic amplifier to come with her. I clicked on the little bubble next to the amplifier of graphics option and then he said:

Step 2 (optional): choose only one desktop graphics card to complete your experience.

I need a very good graphics card so I chose the 1070 GTX, but I noticed that he removed the bubble of the amplifier of graphics option. When I order the laptop it will still come with the amplifier graphic or just the graphics card I bought? Thank you

It is indeed confusing on the auction site. For now, do not order from here. Restore Dell (1-800-999-3355) Sales Department and ask them to manually create the command. Be very specific all three devices you want =.

  • RADEON HD 6800 with graphics amplifier

I recently bought an Alienware 17 R3 with the amplifier of graphics. I was intending to use the graphics card that was previously in my Office I replaced. The amplifier starts well, but I don't get any display of the map for the two monitors I've connected to the HDMI ports. I was hoping to not have to buy a new video card if it can be implemented.

    Thank you

It seems that the map does not work as expected. If you have tried several different video drivers, you can look in the replacement of the card. It can also be due to the fact that the amplifier was not intended for this card, only the R9 series.

  • Alienware13, graphics, external video card amplifier always inactive.

    Hello

I just bought an alienware13 with an amplifier of graphics. And I have a GTX970 installed in the amplifier of graphics. After I start my alienware, everything seems to work fine, the graphics amplifier power light is the video card fan is running. In the pre-installed application "graphics amplifier" win8.1 I see that my external card is connected. Even with a GPU - Z, I can read all my GTX970 statistics. But it just doesn't! The loading of the GTX970 is always 0%, all applications and games running on the video chip to base. I also tried to connect a LCD monitor to GTX970, but it out nothing and the screen is still in a State of 'no signal '.

What is the problem with my amp alienware13 and graphics? Please help, thanks!

    Hello

I have the same problem with the gtx970. So please DELL hurry to implement a solution for this.

  • skyzero can I get your help with the patch windows 7 for AOE II Expansion Weird Graphics

Hello sky zero, I read your messages for audio fixed for AOE II Expansion Gold edition. You seem to be very clear and well informed. So far, I can't know if there is a patch to fix my problem of graphics (compatibility issues) between this game and Windows 7. When I was loading win 7, they said remove AOG he had some compatibility issues with win7 and re - install after. Everything I did. The game works and has sound but the graphics are very weird like the water red and sparse grass. I tried a number of resolutions but got no response. My question is simple. Microsoft has a patch because they knew it was a compatibility problem or not. If Yes, where can I find? If unknown, then who should I contact at Microsoft? Could not find even a Department there. It's all about AOG III. It's a completely different game format. Can you advise me please?

Hi and thanks. I tried both methods - for compatibility between vista and XP compatibility. None worked. However, two of them each listed twice with different service packs, so I can run this test through each for each service pack. I go to the game site, but could not find information on windows 7. I know it's an old game, but it's one we love.

I check in the device management control panel. It does not say anywhere the words 'Graphics Manager. It doesn't have a category name adapters with a thing called Intel (r) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family under him. That he would.  Further to the bottom of the list is also a place called IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. In this category, that it listed two channels 0, plus two channels of 1 listed plus two other things. They are: Intel (R) 82891G (ICH7 Family) Ultra ATA Storage controllers and also Intel (r) 82891 GB/GR/GH (ICH7 Family) Serial ATA Storage Controller - 27C0. In the category ' computer, it says PC ACPI x 86. Other categories in the list include processors. In this category is two things. Both say the same thing - Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU E7500 2.93 GHz Thre is a category called system devices and there are too many things to list. There is a category that says audio, video and game controllers. In this category, he said VIA High Definition Audio.  I'm sorry for the list of all this stuff. Any of these are the category that fits for agraphics card?  I'll also revisit the site of Microsoft for the game to check if they have a patch now.  Thank you.

  • Don't update the graphics drivers Vista 64 ('Access denied' / 80070005)

This has been quite a problem persisting for a while now and I'm not about to set. I have two points of Dell (a desktop and a laptop), both using Vista 64 and nVidia Quadro graphics cards and both have same problem. Earlier, a driver update attempted to settle on Windows Update, but it failed, citing the 80070005 error. After the next restart, completely graphics card drivers did not work at all, forcing windows to return to the graphics compatibility mode. New attempts to update or reinstall the drivers of graphics cards were just as futile. I tried both Windows Update and a downloaded version of nVidia drivers but none worked (the more I get in the way of error messages, it is "Access denied"). I also tried to completely uninstall the drivers and by removing the device in Device Manager, but still no luck. At the end of the day, I did a system restore, but this is not ideal, because the recommended update reappeared in Windows Update again and I have to keep it from settling each time that manually.

After fishing trawl the internet for advice, I tried all sorts but in vain. I tried to disable my Anti Virus, using subinacl (and others) to restore registry permissions, rename the softwaredistributions folder, run in administrator mode, check the permissions of the update service and checking the status of execution protection. Nothing helps, so any suggestions are appreciated.

  • Alienware 17 R3 - Dell unable to supply 8 GB graphics card - FRUSTRATION FRUSTRATION FRUSTRATION

    Someone had this problem?

Got my R3 17 just before Christmas. Ordered 8 GB of graphic map of 980 m received 4 GB.

Dell customer support gave me a refund or an amplifier of graphics! I have absolutely no use
for an amplifier of graphics and I will not be able to buy the laptop that I ordered for the same
the money I got £300 discount and special offers.

They told me that if I had a replacement he had no guarantee it would not happen again.
In fact they told me that they did not the laptop I ordered!

Since then, the default configuration of high 17 R3 on the Alienware website comes with
Spec is identical to the one I ordered (including the 8 GB) and, apparently, usable in
    3 to 5 days.

You know what I do or who I need to contact. I spoke with them on the phone
with no resolution. I'm now Exchange e-mail at a rate of one a week.

The last email contained the text "tokindly cooperate with us that the problem is solved.

I have been informed that Dell is in 'Breach of Contact', but I do not know how to proceed.

In addition to the 4gig issue, I really like the laptop and I really want that one that I ordered.

    Can anyone help?

    Stuart

    Final closure.

I found my money and bought a new one.

There is NO way around it.

I got money for the hassel (10%), and the sales guy gave me a few more discount so all in all I spent the same amount of money and I got a better machine.

My only problem is that the customer support is not fulle issues explain to me in the first place so he dragged for weeks.

    Thanks for your comments.

  • Hi you all, hoping that you will suggest map folding video for alienware Alienware 17

Hi just bought an Alienware 17 with processor i7-6700HQ @2. 60 GHZ, w / GTX Gforce 970 M.  I bought an amplifier and was hoping you can suggest to me a video update to the amplifier card costs around $500 or more.  Also, I have a 4K that TV is there any adapter that I can use to do this with the graphics card.

Just trying to improve and to use the amplifier of the best that I can.

I agree with you that the RX 480 will be a very good option for those on a budget to enter the spec VR level, it certainly won't make the 1070 and 1080.  The 970 m currently in the Alienware 17 R3 is already a decent card for what it is.  The fall is of course the Nvidia Optimus technology that will allow you to use it to VR.  You talk about a laptop that costs a few thousand dollars and an amplifier of graphics that cost even a few hundred.  Recommend a card that costs as much as the amplifier itself seems silly isn't?  People with that kind of money for fancy equipment are not scratch.

The simplest thing I can tell you, is that if you want a card that will occur at the lower level of spec VR and your laptop computer purchase made you to now be broke, and then look in the RX 480, lol.  Otherwise do as I said haha
