• OfficeJet J4680 no analysis

  This software Officejet J4680 done OK on my Dell with WIN XP. I moved to WIN 7 on a 4540 s HP's ProBook, the HP printing software installed (used the USB caple) and now have problems with scanning.

  Solution Center HP tells me that the printer is disconnected. I can print, but not an analysis. I enter the IP address in my browser and I can connect to the printer.

  I loaded and run the Scan doctor. (He said having a fix). I use the product V.14

  I reinstalled the software and restarted several times.

  I also get the error message: HP Scan error 8 [(1.0,-2147221502)]

  The printer installation wizard should have given you the option to install the printer on the network. If you click on start > all programs > HP > HP Officejet J4680 > add a device.

• DASYlab RS232 analysis need help

  Hi, I'm running DASYlab 13 and have implemented an RS232 input with a single channel (0) for a USB sensor which can be read normally via the COM port (port COM 13 in this case, to 115200 8 - N - 1.  I can read very well with the RS232 monitor data, I have a problem with the analysis of the data using the format in the "Measurement data Format" field of the configuration input RS232 in order to get data to display box using the meter digital, recorder, etc..

  To get the data from the probe (apart from DASYlab) I can close DASYlab (which closes the COM port) and issue a command to the sensor from the command prompt in a terminal program: B followed by the Enter key.  For example, "B\r\n" (without the quotes).

  The sensor reacts with 'AA 3 b xx xx xx xx' hex, where "AA 3 b" is a header, and x is the data.  Data format an INT32 (IEEE 754).  However, apparently so he can convert correctly with a converter to int32, France must be reversed.  I.e. If the sensor reports data as 12 34 56 78 (it is a data point made), I have to change to get what I expect as output for 78 56 34 12.  So, I'm not a Data Format to measure '2 x f' or '2 x fy' because neither one takes into account the reverse bytes format.

  How can I analyze the data, so I ignore the two-byte header (that would be x 2 or x 4?) and to reverse the order of data byte, so that the display on the digital output is correct?  I have tried all sorts of things, looked in the help files, forums, etc. and a short entry.  I am a novice user of DASYlab, so I don't know how to do the script, and I don't understand why there are several channels in each RS232 input.  I think that they allow to separate the data of a 'package' of RS232 in the individualized data points, but strings do not appear in the examples I've seen, to allow you to reorganize the data... e i. using my previous example, 12 may enter the channel 0, 34 can enter channel 1, etc., but I can't put 78 in channel 0 , 56 in channel 1, etc.  In addition, I do not understand how the data in the channels of result in the output that is displayed on the output (meter either digital, etc.).

  DASYlab1.png image shows a screenshot of my setup.  You can see the COM port monitor and the release of data by the sensor.  In this case it's 3 b 74 94 62 41 hexagonal AA.  Removing the header and reverse bytes give me 41 62 94 74 hexagonal, which is 14.16 when I convert it with http://www.h-schmidt.net/FloatConverter/IEEE754.html.  This reading (after manipulation) is correct.  However, with a '2 x f' measurement data Format parameter I get 00000000000000000000000000001110 on digital playback, which does not match anything significant.

  I use a CRIO-9075 with a NI9205 and Ni9263 to control the movement of a hydraulic jack. Activation and position/force signals are analog. I use the library softmotion to create an axis and take advantage of the generator of the trajectory and the control loop to execute in the FPGA.

  I'm running the CRIO using FPGA and like softmotion for independent axis I synchronize RT and FPGA, for which I've read the engine periodically at 100 Hz.

  The problem is that the analytical engine gets in a few seconds in fault mode. To return to the active mode, the only way is to reset electrically the CRIO.

  I have attached an image of a minimal example in which to read the scan engine mode and read two panel controls before FPGA. The analytical engine returns 3 (default mode), but the variables read from the front panel are correct.

  Have the engine of analysis in fault mode I cannot synchronize the RT and FPGA as in the example softmotion.

  When you select 'Change destination', it will fill with all stage settings that are supported for the given control used.  Not all the steps or step settings are able to be adjusted when the operator mode.  That is why you were only able to bind controls to step DAQmx Acquire and filter (they are only available to bind in your configuration steps settings).  The forumla node is not able to reference an entry of order of the operator interface. You must manually configure the formula tab of configuration step for that particular step.

  I would recommend if you want that more customized the user interface and approach programming using an application development environment.  Signal Express is ideal for acquisition of signals and perform analysis and basic treatment, but if you want more functionality LabVIEW would be a better option.

  Thanks to LabVIEW 7.0.  Is there a way to enter a mathematical expression during execution?  I am collection of bytes of a device in which the user may have to configure the runtime.  For example, if a package returns 2 bytes, i and j, the user wants to run an equation on the bytes as y = 200i - 3j.  The equation could be anything.  I looked at Expression nodes and formula, but it doesn't seem to be a way to get into the equation by program.  Anyone has any ideas on this subject?

  Hi Ewan,

  It's a very good question that you asked, and had me confused the first time too. What you need to do, IE Multisim your capacitor starts discharged. By default, Multisim amounted to what this state of balance tensions are and start the simulation from here. What you want to do is the following:

  1 - Double click on the thread that connects the resistance and capacitor. Net window will pop up.

  2 - check the box titled use IC for transient analysis (IC means initial conditions).

  3 - Enter the voltage that your condenser starts to. If you assume that the capacitor starts discharged, enter 0.

  4 - click OK.

  5 - try to perform the transient analysis again.

• Amplitude of the Signal after the FFT analysis

  I'm currently trying to find the amplitude of a signal after running a FFT analysis. I use this for image analysis MTF. I take the profile of the line of fire (with an alternation of black and white bars) and convert it to a signal. This signal is then introduced to a FFT Mag/Phase VI extent and output of the FFT. My program then enter the amplitude to frequency of alternating black and white bars.

  My problem is that the amplitude seems to be scaling by a factor. I would like to find the exact amplitude of the signal of my analysis. Anyone know the factor of scale or any problem with my program? I joined the program and the image that must be analyzed. Just browse to the image in the VI and run the program and you will see the MTF chart resulting.

• Every folder I open it in Windows Explorer starts to run an analysis that goes anywhere in the address bar. How can I stop this?

  In earlier versions of Windows, I would allow the address bar appears at the top of any folder that has been opened.  I'm on Vista Ultimate SP2 now and I'm not sure if the same name is still assigned to this bar at the top that displays inside the location of the folder structure of windows to the folder that is open.

  It is the same field that indicates the status of your search in Vista.  This is the area, to which I am referring.  In the upper left of the folder.

  Whenever I open a folder, it starts what appears to be a search, and the progress of the present poster with the field more in more blue from the far left and go right.

  I thought that since that acts of domain the same when I do an actual search, as she does when I open a folder, that maybe Vista makes some sort of search, or perhapes an indexing function.  I disabled indexing on my system.

  Thanks for the clear explanation.  I've never heard of this problem before, but it does not sound like opening the file automatically starts the search function - a problem that could be caused by a number of things.  The first that comes to mind is a recent installation program or the Windows Update (or a corruption of the registry) that is causing the problem.  We will approach the problem systematically until we discover the problem (with the procedure with the highest probability of success first).

  Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.  If this started recently, I think that this procedure can solve the problem without requiring you need to go further (but I could be wrong, and the problem may be with some corrupted system files that must be identified and repaired).

  If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

  If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

  If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 key so that the start and go in safe mode with networking).  Then we will check some of your system files:

  Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

  Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

  While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

  If it does not, then thanks for posting any repetitive error message in Event Viewer on startup (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.

  This could also be malware (although I have never seeen before a kind). Let us make sure that it is not.  In Safe Mode with network (click several times F8 during the boot process) try to run anti-malware programs. To resolve this problem (if it is a problem) download, install, and run the following two programs: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html.  You can also try a free trial of Pandasoft (www.pandasoft.com).  Before you download pandasoft, uninstall all anti-virus program you currently use (because the installation and execution of two simultaneously can cause conflicts, freezes and all sorts of problems).  Once you have uninstalled your current AV program, download, install, update and scan using Pandasoft.  I think you might be amazed at how much she notes that other software missed.  Once complete, uninstall pandasoft and re - install your current AV program (unless you decide to spend that I did when I tried about 4 years ago).  You can also try the new, free Microsoft Security Essentials http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspx (with the same caveat that only program AV one ALONE can be installed and running on your system at any time). When I use the color and grayscale options, the image just right with light background of my palm and dark and distinguished lines area. But when I use the black and white area light background most of Palm appears also in black. Fundamentally important field of my Palm appears black. But when scanning documents that does not happen. Y at - it another option to scan the Palm in black & white?

  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

  I understand that you're looking to analyze the Palm of your hand for a class project and are curious why the black and white adjustment does not come out as well as scans of color and grayscale.

  I try to adjust the scan (PPP), superior quality and adjust brightness settings upwards or downwards to see if that helps.

  I don't think that your scans will be as sharp and vibrant because of the light entering the gap between the scanner cover. When the light seeps into the scanner, it can greatly reduce the quality of the scanned items.

  NOTE: The scanner in this printer is designed for scanning flat objects, not 3D images what is your hand.

  I would take a different approach to this. I suggest that you take a picture of your hand on a black and white camera or save to your computer and convert as black and white in the photo editing software.

  If you don't have a camera try this.

  • Darken the room as much as you can so that no light can enter into the analysis.
  • Place your Palm flat on the glass completely.
  • If you can't darken the room, temporarily put a towel or blanket over the scanner during the scan of the hand. Do not leave it on top of the printer. This is to try to eliminate all eternal light that seeps into the scanner.
