  We have Gen9 HP with Emulex 10 GB (driver v10.5.121.7) runs the last 6.0 ESXi and high latency experience above 50ms to 1.5 seconds with LDAP queries between continuous Windows or VM to DC.   However, to move the domain controller to an ESXi 5.5/6.0 with the latency of the network 1 Gb is down to below 50ms.  If you ping just two servers, ping response is < 1ms.

  Anyone else having this problem? It seems to happen with ESXi 6.0 with 10 GB Networki.   ESXi 5,5 of 10 GB seems to work very well.

  Select your data center to host & cluster inventory, go to the Manage tab, under you will find authorization tab, where you should add authorization with spread to children, by selecting the account user/group and appropriate role (create custom roles if necessary).

  Suppose that the user is given with permission only on Dataceter1 in your inventory, that account has no default on any other data centers, so when permissions that the user will be able to see these inventory items where he or she has permission.

Only the free license (hypervisor) is limited to 32 GB of physical memory, no other physical limits as the number of processors, cores,... apply (with the exception of the maximum value supported of course). The paid editions have a limitations on memory and are licensed per processor/socket. The cheaper edition - which may be enough for you - is an Essentials Kit, which contains 6 processor licenses and licenses for an instance of vCenter Server for up to 3 guests with 2 processors each.

  ESXi will wipe away the LUN on which you install the hypervisor. All other LUNS will remain intact and discovered after the installation. All you need to do - after the configuration of the host - is to add the virtual machine to inventory.

  I want to install esxi on local disk with 4-5 virtual machines on local disks no san. Is it acceptable to simply use a large RAID5 partiiton and install esxi and vms based here? Or is it better to create a RAId1 for esxi installation and a RAID 5 for virtual machines? I don't want to lose too much space for just the esxi installation.

  I build and run on the controllers to the House and it just was not worth the power used to run the commands, even in RAID 10.

  In the pool that you merge, you want to check the speed of rotation of the disk to make sure the target pool members that same RAID level that you merge the members.  (Dell recommends that the members of the pool with the same speed of rotation of disk have the same RAID level).  For example, if a target pool contains a member that has a 7200 RPM drives configured for RAID10, and one of the members of the pool merging has a member of 7200 RPM configure for RAID50.

  Thin clones inherit the setting of the pool of the volume model. If you move the model volume to another pool, thin clones also move.
