You must configure your config directory before deploying. If you have never set up v2 before listener and then create a new folder as "c:\apex\config". Then use

java-jar apex.war c:\apex\config configdir

Then do your configuration as needed, and then to deploy again.

    Hi Kiran,

Thanks for your reply, we used the same link for integration.

But now we have solved the problem. The issue was with the version of Glassfish. It seems that report jasper is not compatible with the 4.1. So, we removed 4.1 Glassfish and install Glassfish 3.1. That solved the problem for us.

  • PDF to print via APEX earphone

I'm trying to set up printing via the listener of the APEX and I am struggling to understand it.  I currently use an Oracle HTTP server as the web server for APEX.  I installed the listener of the APEX and configured.  If I connect via the listener of the APEX, a PDF works fine.  If I connect through the Oracle HTTP server, I get an error with a PDF file.  I have to communicate with the listener of the APEX for the printing of the PDF?  I thought that I could configure the listener of the APEX for the printing of the PDF on the backend and still connect via an Oracle HTTP server.  I use APEX APEX receiver 2.0.5 and Oracle DB 11.1.0.7 4.2.3.

So do you have other questions?  If this isn't the case, then please connect it as a closed question and award points as see fit you...

You have configured your APEX to support the RESTful Service?

Maybe there is something wrong with you RESTful, could you just start a new configuration of the listener from the apex to the step which asks you to enter the password for user(APEX_LISTENER,APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER) RESTful database, select 3 to skip this step.

  • White 4.2 APEX screen with APEX earphone using weblogic

    Hello

There are several of this problem here, but none that I saw with weblogic. I have installed Apex 4.2 in our test instance, copied the images on our weblogic server to create the war file, but get a blank screen when you access the APEX development environment.
I have configured the listener to our database without problem, but just can't get a screen
    http:// < our weblogic server >: 8790/apex_test/f? p = 4550:1

4.2 images must be in the right place because it...
    http:// < our weblogic server >: 8790/i_test/apex_version.txt
    ... gives me this
    Application Express Version: 4.2

Our production and pre-production are APEX 4.1 and have no problem.

    Production:
    http:// < our weblogic server >: 8888/i/apex_version.txt
    Application Express Version: 4.1.1

    pre - ESR:
    http:// < our weblogic server >: 8790/i_pprd/apex_version.txt
    Application Express Version: 4.1.1

On our Linux weblogic server, I have the following for each instance dirctories:

    / u01/apex (no problem)
    apex_listener.1.1.4.195.00.12.zip
    Apex. War
    i.War

    apex_pprd/u01 / (no problem)
    apex_listener.1.1.4.195.00.12.zip
    apex_pprd. War
    i_pprd. War

I created the i.war and i_pprd.war of/U01 files where the directory of images for APEX 4.1 are:
    In / U01
    for production:
    jar - cvf0 apex/i.war - C images.
    for pre-production
    jar - apex_pprd/i_pprd.war cvf0 - C images.

    images - 4.2 images directory

    I created i_test.war in the directory/u01/apex_test:
    jar - cvf0 i_test.war - C images.

War files are deployments in Weblogic using the same managed server.

In the web.xml file, I have the foillowing, just like I have for production and pre-production.
    < context-param >
    config.dir < param-name > < / param-name >
    < param-value >/u01/apex_test < / param-value >
    < / context-param >
upward, which is compressed in the file apex_test.war.

    Environment:
All instances of database 3 are:
    Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64 bit Production

    WebLogic:
    WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.5.0

    Linux where weblogic server is:
Release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5.9

Same version of Linux on the database server.

If anyone sees where I'm wrong, certain direction would be appreciated.

There has got to be something with images, some conflict somewhere. But I separated and my orders of pot during the re-creation of apex_test.war and i_test.war used the names of absolute path on the last install. Of more the http://: 8790/i_test/apex_version.txt gives me: Application Express Version: 4.2

You said your 4.2 instance that it is supposed to get his images, Javascript etc. of i_test rather than I?

  • Upgrading Apex earphone 2 EA-2 Production version

    Hello

We currently use the EA of Apex listener version in our production and development case, for most of his work.

We noticed that the Production version has been release and I was wondering what would be the procedure to upgrade the listener to the production?

We just replace the apex.war files? or do we have to reconfigure the listener apex?

Also, documentation, it seems that the configuration of multiple databases are now made through the SQL Developer (we tried this with the EA without success and returned to the command-line configuration utility)

Any information or assistance would be useful.

    Concerning

If you use ai2 and you want to replace it with the final version 2.0, follow these steps:

1 configure the 2.0 final apex.war to point to your config file:

    java-jar apex.war configdir

where is the location of your config file

2 cancel the deployment of the ai2 apex.war in your application server

3 deploy the 2.0.0 final apex.war in your application server

You can continue to configure several databases via the command line, nothing has changed in this regard. The SQL Developer option is for users who are more comfortable with the use of a graphical tool for the administration.

    Kind regards

  • Withdrawal of the cache folder ready to call APEX earphone with GlassFish

    Hello

We had several unexplained crashes of APEX in our environment in recent months. All this happened after we moved to GlassFish the listener to the APEX. The symptoms were always that all connections in the JDBC connection pool have been used and we had to restart the instance of GlassFish server to free up.

I finally managed to replicate and to determine the cause of this recurring problem. The culprit is file caching used by the auditor of the APEX to the cache file. We use it to cache the downloads of image of the database with a procedure, and the caching folder was set to/tmp/apex/cache. I believe that this is the default setting. All right, when the procedure was called the images were downloaded from the database and caching under/tmp/apex/cache. However, for some (still unexplained) reason, Linux sometimes removes this system of files/tmp folder. This seems to happen at any time after a period of inactivity. We have not to restart the server. After that the file is missing, the listener of the APEX is unable to recreate it, continues to create new database connections until the configured maximum value is reached, and we need to restart the instance of GlassFish to free up. It also recreates the cache folder.

Our environment: GlassFish 3.1.1 and 3.1.2, APEX listener 1.1.3 Oracle Linux 6.2. I didn't try the new listener APEX 1.1.4 yet I'm not sure if this problem has been fixed in the latest version.

(kind of reminds me of the problem where the APEX configuration file is by default submitted/tmp and also disappears from time to time)

    HTH,
    Matthias
    http://matthiashoys.WordPress.com

    Hello Matthias.

(kind of reminds me of the problem where the APEX configuration file is by default submitted/tmp and also disappears from time to time)

This is exactly the same cause. Why don't you set up APEX listener to use a permanent seat for his repertoire of setting cached when you set the config.dir ? The corresponding setting in the apex - config.xml is named apex.cache.directory and must be paid when caching is enabled.
Of course, it would be useful APEX auditor would report an error when its cache dir is missing rather than die in silence. It would be better to change the mode of caching mode not cached when these errors occur. Maybe it will be better in a future release.

    infotork wrote:

I guess that you are referring to the apex of the database installed., right

Right. The image prefix is defined for the APEX installed in the database instance.

When installing APEX instance you install with "/ appdb/i /" prefix, I guess, therefore your APEX page shows the markup like for example:

Note the attribute src of the script tag. It is defined as:

    /appdb/i/libraries/apex/minified/desktop_all.min.js?v=4.2.5.00.08

rather under normal Setup if you have a correct image prefix Viz "/ i /" when installing the APEX, then this path would be:

    /i/libraries/apex/minified/desktop_all.min.js?v=4.2.5.00.08

Therefore, the proposal to run the reset_image_prefix.sql to reset the image prefix ' / i /.

    You will notice that your:

    /i/apex_version.txt

you give the right file, but try

    /appdb/i/apex_version.txt

It will probably show nothing / raise 404 not found error.

  • Model RTF BI Publisher under the XSL - FO with APEX listener PDF printing

    Hello, all,.

I tried to use both the Oracle APEX the Apache FOP listener options in the instance of print settings to generate a PDF report.  The model I use is a RTF model created with the plugin from the editor of BI in Microsoft Word, and it does not work with the editor of BI setting.  I understand that the earpiece of the APEX and Apache FOP will not work with this RTF, but when I export the model to XSL - FO the word Pub BI plugin, it does not for the engines of the listener or FOP.  I'm doing something wrong here?

The PDF file contains a single line, "java.lang.RuntimeException: unsupported XSL element ' '. http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform: for each group - '".

    Here is my card...

    Oracle Application Express 4.2 (4.2.3.00.08)

    Database Oracle Express Edition 11 g (11.2.0.2)

    Oracle Linux 6.3 (Santiago)

Oracle GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 4 (build 89), FOP has been deployed here

I am relatively new to XSL, so I could really use some help.  What is the code XSL would you need to see to get an idea of what's going on?

    Thank you

    -Seth.

Export from Word BI Publisher Plugin does NOT produce the standard style file the the implementation of the FOP APEX uses...  You pretty much need either find a stylesheet xml editor or manually code the file to meet the requirements of FOP used in the earphone or the Fop itself...

    GlassFish 3.1.2.2

The platform is 32-bit, Linux, Amazon EC2

I am reasonably sure I have properly deployed the apex.war and i.war to Glassfish and set a virtual path and database connection correctly.

When you run Firefox on the EC2 machine, access to the

    http://localhost: 8080/apex/dad1.

does not return a login page, no problem. But navigation externally visible publicly address (I have to hide the real address, I'll use a.b.c.d) of the hosting machine or across the net returns a blank page:

    http://a.b.c.d:8080/apex/dad1.

    The success of this operation:

    http://a.b.c.d:8080

I get the standard Glassfish page so I know Glassfish is listening on that address.

I also tried from the stand-alone earphone, and I get the same effect: it refers to a login screen when browsing the localhost, but go to the external address, I get a blank page.

The pages are really blank, there is no indication in the source of the page and it's all Firebug returns:

I tried to enable the query server side, but I have yet to find the way to produce the equivalent of an access.log. Searching the forum produced a few references to "routing rules" but I couldn't find what and where he could be.

As the listener works perfectly when you go to localhost, I can't believe that rthis is the common problem of not finding the vivid, or url mapping problem. But I am of course open to suggestions!

    Any idea will be welcome.

    Thank you for your time.

  • Using a single server for Multiple Instances of the APEX HTTP

Our company DBA asked if it would be possible to outsource the server part of HTTP of APEX from DB servers. In other words, it would be highly preferable as DB servers * only * start the Oracle database software.

We know that we can install the HTTP server on another box, but in thinking how to that, we were wondering if it's really necessary to create a separate HTTP Server installation for each instance of the APEX. What we would really like to do, is have a HTTP server for all our our boxes of Dev and several (but not one) for each of our superior environments; implementation stage, qa, prod, etc..

Right now, each instance has a file single dads.conf on every box of DB. So, if we we to try to consolidate, we need some way to incorporate several dads files and associate each correct instance.

Someone has already done this or (preferably) to have some examples?

    Thank you

    -Joe

The second page on the link provided José begins immediately with the "Configuration of several databases".

Yes, you can consolidate permanently. It is a common practice that was also available with Apache/mod_plsql, OSH and now with APEX earphone 2.

  • Apex 4.2 can be installed on Oracle XE10g DB?

    Hi all

I need to install Apex 4.2 on Oracle XE for reporting purposes. I have the 4.2 download APEX of RTO. I followed the tutorial http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21673/otn_install.htm #BABHHIJB. Now when I ran +@apxrtins SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP/i /-command and changed the admin password and tried to open the homepage of my DB and unlocked account APEX_PUBLIC_USER, it me shown as white. So I thought that I need earpiece of the apex to do is open. I installed apex earphone using java-jar apex.war command. Even now, I get a blank page over this, no error happens on SQLPLUS for Apex listener. I'm not able to trouble shoot this.

So after doing all of this a question came to my mind can apex be placed on ORACLE XE? I read a forum where it says Yes, you can install but I have not found what it is relevant more than that.

    Help, please.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Avi,

I have to install Apex 4.2 on Oracle XE for reporting purposes. I have the 4.2 download APEX of RTO. I followed the tutorial http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21673/otn_install.htm#BABHHIJB.

Why did you use the Setup Guide for APEX 4.1 when you install APEX 4.2?

Now, when I ran @apxrtins command SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP is

If you want just a runtime installation?

tried to open the homepage of my DB

    Who would be?
    Note two things:
1 the "database home page" which comes with your XE is a special request from the APEX. This application will be lost when you upgrade or reinstall APEX, because it has been "adapted" in the XE scenario using the APEX version provided with XE.
    2. an installation of runtime has no web-based GUI (connection of the workspace, applications, etc.). It's really just the length of the APEX to deploy your applications (through an interface such as SQL SQL * Plus or SQL Developer). If you want more, you need a development environment (full installation).

A third aspect would be the question of whether you move your images APEX to 4.2.

So after doing all of this a question came to my mind can apex be placed on ORACLE XE?

Yes, as shown in the [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/install.42/e35123/pre_require.htm#BABFCFBC] Oracle database requirement section of the Setup Guide for 4.2, you can install APEX 4.2 on XE databases since 10.2 XE. I can assure you from personal experience that it works with or without the APEX listener.
Note: you need APEX listener if you want to use features such as RESTful Webservices integrated APEX 4.2.

    Hello

I just installed the listener APEX 2.0.1 as a stand-alone installation.

I get the error 404 - Not Found When I pass in my browser the url:

but I have the correct application page when I get home:

    http:// < My Server >: 7777/apex

Does anyone have an idea about goes wrong with that?

    Kind regards.

    Hello

    http:// : 7777/apex/listenerConfigure

This URL does not exist for APEX listener 2.0.1 because the web configuration interface has been removed with 2.0. There was improvements to the command line interface to configure the listener of the APEX and there is a new interface, you can use with SQL Developer since 3.2 (current version 3.2.2 is recommended).

Always take a glance the documentation that matches the version of software you are using. In your case, it would be the [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37099_01/doc/doc.20/e25066/toc.htm]APEX earphone 2 Installation and Configuration Guide.

  • Setting up the environment of the APEX

    Hello

I have a series of questions to establish access to the APEX. The ability to use OSH has been discounted. We want to use a separate apache and struggling to configure mod_plsql. The license for mod_plsql indicates that it should not be used in this way. There is a valid alternative?

    Kind regards

It seems that in a first time listener of the Apex has been dismissed by licensing issues. I did research on this subject, but I'm a bit confused. If Apex earphone using WebLogic, is that I have to WebLogic server license? As I read, Apex license includes WebLogic, where we don't need license Weblogic and it's free, it's okay?

The apex is free. It works on XE, which is also free.
    ApexListener is free.
WebLogic (WLS) is one of the containers in which you can deploy ApexListener Oracle supported JEE. WLS is a licensed product.
The other supported Oracle JEE containers are Glassfish (licensed) and OC4J. ApexListener can also be run in stand-alone mode, although this is not recommended for Production environments.

ApexListerner also runs on other containers not - supported Oracle JEE as community Glassfish (Open Source) server, Tomcat, etc. By failure to load this means that you cannot trigger a SR on Oracle for these, you will need to depend on this forum and the consultants if you enter certain issues.

    See you soon,.
