APEX with Oracle Containers for J2EE

I'm trying to get Oracle Application Express Listener to run using Oracle for J2EE (OC4J) containers. As I was doing this, I noticed that the option Oracle Containers that I try to use would not actually work with APEX, so I need to know if he can or cannot be used. Also, I try to get the Oracle Containers 'oc4j' command works, and I can't do that because I need to set JAVA_HOME and ORACLE_HOME, but I don't know how.

For the Oracle Application Express listener, the documents indicate that we can run in stand-alone mode, or run using a Java Enterprise Edition application server. Choice was made to run using an application server Java Enterprise Edition and based on that there are three options:
1 oracle WebLogic Server
2 oracle GlassFish Server
3 oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J)

Choice was made to see option #3, Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J).

The listener APEX 'Guide installation and Developer', there is a link for containers of Oracle to J2EE (OC4J), so I followed the link to the Version "containers for J2EE autonomous distribution - Production versions of Oracle, ' 10.1.3.5.0 and downloaded and started working on the installation. But just recently, I noticed that on the same page it says "NOTE: standalone OC4J is purely for use in a standalone environment.» It cannot be used to replace the OC4J running in ANY existing installation of Oracle Application Server 10 g".

TWO QUESTIONS: If it cannot be used, then why not option #3 Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J) even an option? And why the "install and Developer's Guide ' takes us to this place to download Oracle Containers for Distributions Standalone J2EE?

When I first came to this page, I did not notice what I did just notice, so I downloaded and started working on an installation of Oracle containers. To use it, we must set two environment variables ORACLE_HOME and JAVA_HOME. Because these environment variables are not defined, whenever I try to execute a command, like 'oc4j-start' or 'oc4j - help', I get the following error:
C:\Oracle\oc4J2EE_extended\bin > oc4j - start
Error: JAVA_HOME environment Variable is not defined.
We can run java.

I need to get the oc4j command works. I'm running on Windows Vista. I tried to add "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_27\bin;" the environment variable path, but that did not work. He, however, has allowed me to easily use the command "javac" to compile a java source file in a .class file.

Then, I tried these two statements in the command line:
C:\ > SET JAVA_HOME = C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_27\bin
C:\ > SET ORACLE_HOME = C:\Oracle\oc4J2EE_extended

I am tired and then the command oc4j again, and it still didn't work.

QUESTION: On Windows Vista, how to set ORACLE_HOME and JAVA_HOME so that the oc4j command works?

Summary:
1 can I use Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J) with Oracle Application Express Listener?
2. If Yes, then I use the correct version, because the download page says that it "can NOT be used to replace the OC4J running in ANY existing installation of Oracle Application Server 10 g."
3. How do you define the ORACLE_HOME and JAVA_HOME on a Windows Vista operating system?
4. How can I get the oc4j command works?

I let the ORACLE_HOME variable systemic intact (i.e. on the value of the database) and set the local value for the variable in the script to start for the OC4J. So if you use oc4j.cmd, you could put a whole script, like start_oc4j.cmd which could look like this:

SET JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_26
SET ORACLE_HOME=D:\oracle\oc4j_extended_101350
"%ORACLE_HOME%"\bin\oc4j.cmd -start

And you can start your OC4J with this script wrapper without disturbing the system wide ORACLE_HOME.

Installation of apex with Oracle 11.2.0.3
I installed oracle EE 11.2.0.3.

I think that the APEX is isntalled with this version, but it seems to be an older version, I see a diagram apex 3_X.

I wish I had the last installed APEX rlease which I believe is 4.2.

How should I proceed with this? Pass the relase running or can I download the 4.2 file zip and install new.

I have also, oracle http server is installed so I would use for APEX. I think it's a matter of configuration after installation.
Current version is the 4.2.1 and the documentation suggests that you run the apxins.sql regardless of the version.

Apex 4.2 with Oracle HTTP Server 12 c?

So, we have already implemented Oracle APEX with Oracle HTTP Server 11g Oracle WebTier utility. These are all works well.
However, we wanted to try with the latest version of the stand-alone version of HTTP. So, we installed and configured the server for HTTP from Oracle 12 c (Stand Alone). However, we do not find instructions for things like where to copy the images, which dads.conf to edit etc. The current facilities seem to be oriented with the older, version 11g.
Someone at - it a source for instructions to update configuration APEX with Oracle HTTP Server 12 c?

What is the best way for a J2EE developer with oracle?

I am a J2EE developer, for the moment I'm working in a commercial bank as an enterprise application developer. Java, I learned when I was following a degree of local COMPUTER and with the help of books, work at my place of work and the internet, today I develop applications with JSP, Servlets, JSF2.0, EJB3.0 and third-party J2EE part libraries JSF etc (I also develop software using other programming languages such as Asp.net, c# .net, etc. WPF, but I prefer to be in the path of java). Other than that, I also work as the designer of the user interface of most of our applications.

I have the skills and practice after having worked for 4 years as a developer of web/enterprise applications & UI designer, but now I have to focus on some grades of paper and so I do BCS.

I finished my SCJP courses, but did not take the exams, because there were rumors that Oracle will clear these reviews in the future. I am interested in Oracle university, but I'm unable to even think about it as I live in Sri Lanka and is not only a large part of the wealth to go to the USA and join.

So I really appreciate if any professional Oracle could suggest me the best educational path based on what I mentioned about my technical and professional training. Because I have a dream to join Oracle a day as an employee and be a good contributor on the same forum, which I get help today!

Double authentication with Oracle EBS at the APEX problem

I am currently working on a project to integrate with Oracle EBS 12.1.3 4.2.4 APEX. We have completed the recommended white paper Oracle configuration. I joined at the request of the APEX of a responsibility of BSE, when I click on the page of the APEX of the EBS, it navigates me to the login page of the APEX, and after I entered my credentials is to show the "No data found" error on the page. It seems that the constructed URL is not allowed. We EBS do not build a valid string. You can see where he puts "CallFromForm" and then adds "& p =...". "URL.

Last error message in the queue is:

ORA-29279: permanent SMTP error: 550 via this server without authentication.
the smtp server has not been changed, the code is very well

Make sure that you use the relevent to instructions for your version.
If you use 4.0 - you probably want the same script - with use of APEX_040000 appropriate.

Upgrade of the Apex 3.2.1 (mod_plsql) at Apex 4.0 with Oracle Listener

We have a few applications in the Apex 3.2.1 (i.e. mod_plsql) which have not been displaced in Production yet. We intend to move to Apex 4.0 with Oracle listener as soon as they are available (we don't want turn on any web server mod_plsql). What will be the migration process? My apps work and look the same when I opened the Apex 4.0? All the features, formatting, etc. will be lost?
I heard that there is a Migration Wizard, but there is no information available.

When Apex 4.0 and Oracle Listener comes out? Summer 2010?

APEX 3.1.2 works with Oracle Database 10g?
APEX is included in Oracle Database 10g? If not, and if I uploaded it separately, will it work with an Oracle 10 g database on Linux installation?

I tried is the companion of the Oracle 10 g, but this CD seems HTML_DB worm: 1.6 or something.

where can I find an installation guide for installation of the APEX 3.1.2 on Oracle database 10g linux because all the scenarious installation I found seem to be for oracle 11g database or oracle 10g application server.

Request Express is not provided with 10g but as Paulo said, he will work with Oracle 9.2.0.3 or later. You can download it using the links on the pages, he said.

If you mean WebADI with Smartview, I don't see any what docs MOS which show that it is certified or not, so I guess that's not (please connect an SR to confirm this with the support of the Oracle).
