APPCRASH at the launch of the game.

The game has worked before, tried to start again, and this error came. I tried several relocations and wanted to know if anything else will fix it before you reformat. It is also the only thing having this problem.

I agree with Gloria.  If you are having problems with the game even after formatting the hard drive and reinstall Windows Vista, the file of game, or a hardware problem happens with your computer.

It is the "only" problem that you encountered with the computer, with this game?
What Service Pack are you, 1 or 2?  If you have SP2 there, have you installed 1 SP1 and SP2?
If so, uninstall SP2 and see if the problem goes away.

Question: (apologies if this has been mentioned and I forgot), it's a game "online"?  Which means, you use Internet Explorer to play or there is an application that you have installed from the Web and it plays through the Internet?  I ask because if it is using Internet Exploer, then lets start IE without Add-ons.
Click Start > all programs > click surAccessoires > click on system tools > click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)

    You do a right click on the WOW icon at the office-
    then browse to the location of the file -
    It will appear a lot of files-
    Click on the WoW program file instead of the pitcher-
    will start your wow game-
    Log in as normal-
    then he will come to the top to update...

    After the update your wow will work as usual!

  • Problem with directinput in dxdiag and the launch of the games

    I recently started having problems with launch of some games.  Two games, at present, are 'Black hawk down' and 'Dead space '.  When I run Dxdiag I get a direct entry access error.  If I click on 'no' in the pop-up window that dxdiag errors access to direct entry, my dxdiag crashes with report error to microsoft.  I think the two are connected.  I have reinstalled/updated all the drivers of sound, graphics and system nothing helps.  When I try to do the webinstall of directx, I get the message that it has not updated.  All devices works fine.

    Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance for any help offered.

    Home Win XP - SP3 - completely up to date, Phenom II x 4 3.1 GHz, 4 GB ram, radeon hd5670 1 GB, onboard sound.

    Managed to find out what was causing the problem.  I have a USB stick electric meter reader.  It blocks somehow the directinput do some games unplayable and the origin of the problem of dxdiag.  If anyone has a similar problem then I suggest to each of your devices USB, one at a time, unplug and see if the problem goes away.     OK, finally solved.

    I uninstalled what is called "Windows Live ID Sign - in Assistant", as well as the usual games of .NET, MS for Windows - LIVE and games for Windows Marketplace Client, then ran a registry cleaner (I used CCleaner, which is free) and restarted.
    I then reinstalled GWL from MS. site

  • Windows 7 freezes completely during the launch of the games.

    Everytime I open a game via the main executable file my screen will turn black as the game loads then the computer crashes completely upward and I have to hard reboot it. I have 2 monitor while the game is loading I have my mouse on the second screen so I can see how long it takes to freeze. Ctrl alt del does not work either. Also sometimes when I hit print screen my computer will freeze even when I opened the games. I can get some of the games to work, but I have to have a no cd fixed exe to make it work. I have installed the latest video card drivers so im sure that this is not that.

    Research on some of the information for your motherboard, it did not appear that there is a driver update for Windows 7 chipset.  You must contact them and see if they have a new driver or if they have heard of the original driver issues in Windows 7.

    I read the fix below on three different forums.
    Seems to work for some. Especially those with Pentium cpu.

    The game was released in ' 05, a bad year for compatibility issues with different
    DRM and Win7. If the problem is with the Launcher, then a noCD fix would be a good solution.

  • Installed the game 9 GB (Obduction) but I'm not.

    I downloaded a massive 9GB game called "Obduction" and then follow the steps to install it. At the end of this installation, which ended while I was away from the computer, a window was left with a large green checkmark telling him "Installation was successful". However, I can't find the game anywhere. I tried to enter the word "Obduction" Spotlight and the 'F' command windows, but all I get is reference another file that I downloaded successfully the Obduction music soundtrack; nothing on the much bigger file of the game itself. The game itself had glitches when it is played and is classified as a beta version for Mac, but I have not heard of him 'becoming extinct after installation.

    Just a guess. You have installed Steam? Maybe you need to launch Steam and it could be registered. I don't play and it has been years I tried Steam so I could be wrong.

  • Cannot load the game programs__

    I'm unable to load ONE of the following games (can't bring to even begin to load)...  I ran Hero IV on my NEW machine (Toshiba satellite I7) when I first got it 11/2010 and FATE and Might & Magic VI... now loading I get no errors loading simply do not at all...   I clicked on the DVD and tried to launch the set up... tried older program compatibility did not work...  Help, please.  Programs worked with XP, previous laptop with windows 7...

    1. what version of Windows 7 use you? It is 32-bit or 64-bit?

    This problem may occur if the games are not fully compatible with Windows 7.

    As you could use games in windows XP and windows 7 laptop computer previopus, you can try to install the game using administrator privileges.

    Step 1:

    If you try to install using a CD and then try to copy the files for installation on the desktop and then repeat the installation with administrator privileges:

    a. right-click on the installation files and select run as administrator to install the games.

    Step 2:

    If you're still having problems, then I suggest you to install Windows XP mode and then install the games in XP mode and check.
