Application Windows is not responding

Dell Inspiron 1525 Windows Vista, when I open more than one application, the system only allow me to work with one, when I click on the button corresponding to the other application in the taskbar, this app is show but I can't work with it, the only way I got it working is by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete , then the Cancel button, when she came back I can choose an application to work with. It happened once, I created another profile, and then it was resolved, but its now appears in the new profile.

any suggestions?

Hello

That happened in another profile is very troubling.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

    Hello najoua Kumar,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. You did it all change important before the show?
    2. Do you receive an error message/code when opening that file zipped?
    3. You are connected with an account administrator or standard?

If so what opening zipped folder file explore crashes while there might be a chance that some system files are missing or your computer may be affected by some virus/malware. I suggest you to try the methods provided below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

    Method 1

I suggest that you start the computer in safe mode and see are you able to login in safe mode or not. You can see the article mentioned below to start the computer in safe mode.

Start settings for Windows (including safe mode)

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-safe-mode

If your computer works fine in safe mode and it is not get crashed, I suggest you perform the clean boot.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note: refer to "How to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

    Method 2

If the problem persists, I suggest you to check the system files are they work very well or not and to check who are trying to run the (SFC) System File Checker tool.

Scan SFC will be scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows 8.

    1. Press Windows key and X at the same time.

    2. Choose line (Admin) command on the shortcut menu.

    3. At the command prompt, type sfc/scannow and press ENTER.

    4. Exit the command prompt.

For more information, refer to this link:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833/en-us

    Method 3

I suggest you to run security software and check if your system is affected by viruses.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner free is a downloadable security tool that allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

  • Satellite A200-TH7 - Windows Explorer not responding

At random times (normally when I wake the PC) and I click on the volume control in the taskbar, nothing appears.
Then I'll go to move the physical volume control cursor and nothing will happen.

However, at this time, I'll try to click anywhere on the taskbar, but it freezes and says "Windows Explorer is not responding" and I have to restart the program. Once doing so, volume control isn't even on the taskbar. And if I slide the physical volume slider, Explorer crashes once more.

I have Vista and its a Satellite A200-TH7.

I have the volume on mute so I literally can't hear anything now.
If I restart the computer, it'll work, but this problem occurs frequently.

    Hello

In my view, this has nothing to do with the volume control on the task bar.
In my opinion, there is a problem with the Explorer of Windows Vista.

Usually, you can enable and disable the mute settings in Control Panel-> Sound-> reading tab.

You are able to reach these settings?

    Hello sunny

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

You can deal with this issue because of a corruption in Windows applications.

  • Ultimate Windows: Explorer not responding

Windows Ultimate: Lately, every time that I right click a folder or a file in a folder, it takes between 12 to 15 seconds to respond with my options (Explorer copy, delete etc...). It is used to respond instantly. What can I do? Thank you

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

Method 1: Diagnose and repair Windows files and folders problems automatically: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_file_and_folder_diag/

    Method 2:

Try to put your computer in a clean boot state, and check to see if the same problem happens.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click on start toreduce this top that i, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    (b) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (c) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

    Method 3:

Also scan your computer from the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Tecra S3 - Intel PROSet/Wireless window does not respond after changing settings

Given that I've updated the driver and the utility Intel PROSet version 9.0.4.17 driver and tool PROSet to version 10.5.0.1 for Intel BG2200 WLAN card to build-in the PROSet tool window freezes every time after that I changed a parameter (for example, by adding a new profile).

Closing the window with ALT - F4 also does not work unless you kill the process in Task Manager.

Is this a known problem or is there any group of fixes for the driver or the Intel PROSet tool available?

    Hello

The ProSet utility is a clean product Intel and if there are updates you find on the Intel Web site.
But in my opinion, there is only a corruption of installation.
How do you install this app? Have you removed the old version first?

I think that if you want to update the programs, you must always first remove the old version and then after reboot of the new laptop, you can begin the installation of the new version.

You could use additional own program register as a CCleaner. It s a freeware application and it checks the registry for some corruptions.

  • machine freezes, the login window is not responding

    Hello

recently, a few times my macbook pro freezes and becomes almost insensitive. before I explain more I have 230 GB of my 500 GB of free hard drive, so I is not a problem with space on the disc.

in general, I'll have safari, vlc, Skype numbers and open the activity monitor. the reason why I keep open all the time activity monitor is because I had some performance issues with my machine.

every so often will freeze the machine and memory used will draw upward of about 1.75 GB to 3.8 GB. Sorry I forgot to see if there is no change in the cache, use swap, memory app, wired memory or compressed. I'll update the ram, but I still think there must be a problem which is the cause.

When this happens, I pressed the power button to turn off and restart.

In addition, and I don't know if it's related or another problem, whenever I restart the machine, a window pops up saying "insecurity disabled startup."? Library? startupitems? virtualpcosservices"was not started because it doesn't have the appropriate settings. I have never experienced this with any of my other macs and starting this machine has always seemed slower then on other Macs I've used.

    Thank you

These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Run the Console application in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

    Step 1

For this step, the title of the Console window should be all Messages. If it isn't, select

SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ all Messages

in the list of logs on the left. If you don't see this list, select

List of newspapers seen ▹ display

in the menu at the top of the screen bar.

In the upper right corner of the Console window, there is a search box to filter. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes).

Each message in the journal begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the BOOT_TIME message that corresponds to the last boot time when you had the problem. Now, clear the search box to display all messages. Select those recorded before starting, during the time that something unusual was happening. Copy to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command + V.

For example, if the system is unresponsive or unable to stop for three minutes before you forced a reboot, post the timestamped messages within three minutes before the start time, not after. Please include the message BOOT_TIME at the end of the extract from newspaper - not at the beginning.

If there is a long series of messages, please post only one example of each. Do not post of many repetitions of the same message.

When you post a journal excerpt, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Please don't dump blindly thousands of lines in the journal in this discussion.

Please do not post screenshots of log messages - text poster.

    Step 2

    In the Console window, select

DIAGNOSIS AND diagnostic USE information reports ▹ System

(not diagnose them and use Messages) in the list of logs on the left. If you don't see this list, select

List of newspapers seen ▹ display

    in the menu bar.

There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points downwards. You will see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the process crashed and ends with ".crash". A report of panic has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends with ".panic." A report of stall stop has a name ending with ".shutdownstall". Select the most recent of each, if any. The content of the report is displayed at right. Allows you to copy and paste to validate all of the content, text, not a screenshot. It is possible that none of these reports exist.

I know that the report is long, perhaps several hundred lines. Please report all this anyway.

If you don't see any report, but you know, there was a crash or panic, you can have selected diagnostic and using the list of Log Messages. INFORMATION on the USE of DIAGNOSTIC AND choose instead.

In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you change the UUID ' anonymous, ' a long string of letters, numbers and dashes in the header of the report, if it is present (it cannot be). "

Please do not post other types of diagnostic report - they are very long and rarely useful.

When you post the journal excerpt or the accident report, you might see an error message on the web page: "you have included content in your post that is not allowed", or "the message contains invalid characters." It's a bug in the forum software. Thanks for posting the text on Pastebin, then post here a link to the page you created.

If you have an account on Pastebin, please do not select private in exposure menu to paste on the page, because no one else that you will be able to see it.
