Archive XP SP3 updates?

Hello
Someone has put together all the updates since XP SP3 in one place? In view of the end of life for coming XP, the 270 MB value of updates will become probably rare.

The computer has XP Home. It is an older machine, 266 Celeron, 2 GB of Ram that I built a few years ago. It is part of a home network. It has not been updated for a while so I decided to install SP3, updates, IE 8, BackupNT off CD, FixIT and Partition & Format 2 more large players. It wouldn't install them or partition or format the disks again.  It is clear that I have no idea.  Mike

    Hello

What is your level of service current pack? Click right my computer, click Properties, on the general tab, he says.

If this isn't SP1A or SP2 you will not be able to install SP3. You will first need to install SP2.

How you try to install the SP3? Stand-alone package or Windows Update?

I must say that I'm not sure why you are unable to install, for example, NTBackup. As said by Harish B N, we need more information about the error you get.

  • XP SP3 update causes computer to only start in safe mode

My daughter had XP IE8 running on his computer, site update Windows XP SP3 download.  I downloaded and installed, however it won't start in safe mode. When I remove SP3, the computer loads normally.  I then uninstalled IE8 (went back to IE6), made sure I had the pre-requistes, followed the steps as outline on the microsoft site, downloaded SP3 again and installed.  It will only re-start in safe mode.  I tried everything, no matter what I do, XP SP3 causes the computer to restart in safe mode only. I'm totally frustrated. Can someone help me?

What is the origin of XP SP3 only start in SafeMode anfter installation? What can I do to fix this?

Continuous restarts or can only to Safe Mode boot after installing WinXP SP3?

    See: http://msinfluentials.com/blogs/jesper/archive/2008/05/08/does-your-amd-based-computer-boot-after-installing-xp-sp3.aspx

[NB: the above has been updated several times and now includes "a small tool that allows to detect the problem IntelPPM and mitigate before installing (WinXP SP3)".]

Possible workaround: boot safe mode and rename INTELPMM. SYS to INTELPMM. OLD.

  • BIOS update problems. After SP3 update, I got the BSOD and cannot be run in Mode without failure.

Yesterday I went to the AMD site to download the latest version of the BIOS.  I installed the SP3 for XP and got the BSOD but no details, only four error codes after the Stop 0x0000007e.

Registered under a WinZip BIOS and when I opened it, it was defined as a file of VLC media player, which seemed poorly, and as a text file, which seemed wrong.  Earlier, but I had been able to open it, then run, and then he said that I had to stop so he could activate.  So when I said if turned off, the system said, hang on, it's not over and if you stop now, you may lose files.  So I waited, nothing happened.  So I did it again, and he says that you want to uninstall, suggesting it was already installed.

If it has been installed, it has obviously had no effect on my BSOD problem.  Only, I can boot into safe mode since I've upgraded to SP3.  And a question he says might be the problem, it's a BIOS updated.

Have I not two BIOS?  One for the CPU and one for the motherboard?  I went to update my ASUS MB, but who could have got WinZip number, not the AMD BIOS for the CPU.  Anyway, still getting the BSOD.  And when I started, I don't think that the version of the BIOS has changed.  But I could check my version against the latest versions, and I'm seriously out of date.

    I have an AMD Athlon 64 X 2 6000 + 89v.

    Motherboard is ASUS M2N-SLI-Deluxe

I really don't think the updated BIOS updated.

  • Equium A60 Win XP SP3 update problem

Of the major problems upgrading a re-installation of SP2 to SP3. Had to re - install because of stability issues. I tried all the many solutions proposed in article Microsoft ID:822798 without success. Installation of the SP3 pack always gets the part passing through and still gives me the error dialog update SP3 "failed to install catalog files. SP2 is stable, but simply will not be upgraded. I tried a variety of approaches, including a try immediately after re-installing XP SP2 with + without any security software or loaded drivers, but same problem no matter what approach.

I'm running the original BIOS - is an update V 1.90 likely to solve anything. I was tought not too touch BIOS upgrade, unless she has a performance advantage?

  • Win XP laptop: Update site offers ONLY SP3 update base - why

    HI -.
I have an old Toshiba Techra M1 XP Pro SP2 machine running. When I try to update, the only proposed update is the update of the SP3 base.  Why the update site will not provide other updates?

    Automatic updates is enabled?

Why SP3 has not been installed now? [Computers running under that WinXP SP2 will NOT be offered for additional updates of critical security, automatic updates will stop working, and the Windows Update Web site will not be available after July 10, 2010, until that SP3 is installed.]

  • SP3 update ready to ask - confused on how to proceed

    Hello - victory xp/sp2/I.E. 6 x /outlook express

I see that SP3 is already downloaded on my computer and ready to install it when I visit ' windows update/express "... but also read the newsletter on the installation and her below has been recommended... but how I 'disconnect' from the internet while staying at" windows update / install sp3 without losing anything?     Help, please!  I'm totally confused... .thanks in advance!

    Among the proposals from microsoft:
    (1) download the full installation of SP3 file or burn the ISO download to
    CD.
    (2) ensure (as is likely) you have no spyware/malware by making a full
    Scan with SuperAntiSpyware and MalwareBytes.
    (3) CHKDSK
    (4) defragment
    (5) make sure that your drivers are up to date (from the material
respective web pages of the manufacturer).
    (6) reboot just before that you try to install SP3.
    (7) disconnect from the internet before installing (physically).
    (8) disable your antivirus and software anti spyware applications when you're around
    install SP3.

    Hi 2simba,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.

Since you receive a message that SP3 is already downloaded, you must not download it manually. You shouldn't burn it to CD.

However a link to download the sp3 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5B33B5A8-5E76-401F-BE08-1E1555D4F3D4&displaylang=en

To Unplug of the internet before installing (physically). Follow the steps below.

If you use a wired connection, and then remove the network cable (visible at the rear of the central processing unit).

If you use a wireless connection then remove USB data card for the computer.
