Are there opportunities that Windows updates are causing a loop of auto repair?

Hi, just recently when I installed the new windows updates my laptop immediately is stuck in the 'auto repair loop' on reboot. I used the system restore and everything went back to normal. However, once again, I got these new updates of windows and don't think not much on this subject, I installed them again. As a result, my next reboot done with my laptop stuck in the loop of auto repair. Panicking, I ended up resetting my laptop and lost all my files.

Now I'm wondering back here what to do with the 104 new "recommended" updates from windows (value of 995 mb).

PS: I have no need for any advice on how to struggling auto repair loop, just to know if there is something wrong with the new windows updates, and no, I did not install the updates of windows 'optional '.

Thank you

It seems that updates (not upgrade) in the August issue are at the origin of the problems, but it is not perform all devices, link below is one of the many comments about it;

I understand that you aren't looking for advice on a fix, but it may be useful.

  • After compacting emails, all my emails from September 2011 until now have disappeared. Are there opportunities that I get back them?

After compacting emails, all my emails from September 2011 until now have disappeared. Are there opportunities that I get back them? I use Outlook Exprees and he suggested that I should compact messages. I've done it several times before and everything was OK until

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Why mail disappears:
    http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgone

    Recovery methods:

If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:

    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

I am running Windows 7 and noticed that Windows updates did not work. The parameters are defined for the update every day. When I went to update manually returned an error WindowsUpdate_80070017.  MSFT site was no help. Any recommendations?

Since neither updates Jan - 10 have installed, I'm going to hand you Support MS in the hope that they can resolve the problem. See below.

That being said, is an interpretation of the 80070017 - cyclic redundancy check error "a device attached to the system does not work," which suggests that a hardware problem might be the cause of the error (although I must say that it is a very low possibility in this case).

    Good luck!

  • Blue screen 116 every time that Windows updates

original title: 116 every time that Windows Update BSOD

OK, so I'm in a bad mood, so this will be brief. I managed to understand I get BSOD every time I update my graphics driver, and I have no idea what kind of card I because it is a company built PC (never buy Dells) and the owner of this PC (that is to say my father and family) reinstalled Windows compeletly before I could look, so all I have is "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" in the Device Manager. Try to manually update the drivers causing the BSOD once I chose to run windows normally (it runs in safe mode now too, which is of course the pre reinstall improved)

So I don't really know what to do at this point.

    Hello

Dell can tell you what the graphics device in the computer is so check with their support, their online
documentation and drivers and ask in the Dell forums for known issues. Check the model number
of your computer on the Dell Site for drivers - it should indicate the appropriate driver.

The fact that it BlueScreens when you try to update the driver could indicate there is something wrong
with the video device. Because it has a "Standard VGA adapter' this means that the driver does not load.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi BarbaraWillis,

    · What is the number and the model of the computer?

1 check the updates of Windows have been installed on the computer and also if any update could not be installed. Follow the steps for the same:

    a. Click Start, click all programs and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click on view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.

    (c) in the status column of this window, find the failed to install update and then click on the red X.

    (d) a new window opens that displays the installation error code.

Hi I have a HP Probook 6470 b. After installation of the latest series of Windows updates my laptop fails to open the common programs such as Word 2010, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Internet Explorer 11. Other programs such as Excel 2010 and Chrome are not affected. Programs not just open, but on the control task manager, they are each taking up 25% CPU, which is the set of core.

Strangely, on a machine identical to the work occurs the same problem but on a desktop computer, I can't reproduce the problem. With my laptop I use system restore and the problem goes away until Windows Update to run again - there are quite a few updates and I can't identify what the source of the problem.

    Everyone knows about this problem?

    Update for Windows Vista (KB2345886)

I found KB981957 to be the culprit on that I worked on a system of XP SP3.  With this update installed, I get an error C000021A Service Control Manager BSOD.  I have manually uninstalled this update by using the Recovery Console and then used Windows Update through IE and deselected this update.  All the other updates installed correctly and the system starts properly.  I would like to know why this update is causing this problem.  Anyone with the same problem?

It reminds me of a similar situation earlier this year with BSOD KB991765.  The cause of the BSOD is a virus that has infected system driver files.  Once clean, the installation worked very well.  I've done many scans on this system and have not yet found any viruses.
