  • W500: Dialog box Outlook 2010 32 bit ' file/Options '. "fails on Win 7 64 bit

    Hi all

For some reason, it seems to be interference between certain Lenovo W500 Driver/software and Office 2010 that breaks Outlook 2010:

1 / I installed a new copy of Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit, no driver installed Lenovo (IE only the provided Windows drivers) - there are devices that are not yet recognized, but I don't who has not yet set

2 / I install a new copy of Office 2010 Professional Plus 32 bit, which includes Outlook 2010

3 / once I start Outlook to join my Exchange Server and my messages start to flow-well

4 / I then go into file/Options and then make several settings and save by clicking OK - so so good fa

5 / can I update the system using the Lenovo update tool (update of the ThninkVantage system) and adding all the updates (not those in option)

6 / Once finished, after the obligatory reboot, I launch Outlook again

7 / I repeat step 4 above - a message box appears read "the file does not exist"; at this point, only the button cancel from the dialog box Options can dismiss the Options dialog box.

7bis / as in step 7, but just open Options and immediately, click OK (IE do not any change in the Options) leads to the same error "the file does not exist.

8 / restore the system to a restore point just before applying updates from Lenovo brings the system back to normal, IE as in step 4 above.

Any ideas of what might be broken Outlook?

    Thank you!

    Rodolphe

Well I finally resolved the issue - for some reason, as the "Sound reminder" field on the Advanced tab was empty. I put it to the mail notification sound electronic normal windows, and then the dialog box options was happy.

On the complement of research, it is effectively disabled. Don't know why but will survey.

Curve 8530 does not sync with my Microsoft Outlook 2010.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Office of RIM 5.0.1 software tells you that you are using is not compatible with Outlook 2010. You need to upgrade to level 6.0 from the RIM of the Desktop for Outlook 2010 compatibility software. However, if you use Outlook 2010 64-bit, there currently is no version of RIM software which is compatible... only the 32-bit Outlook 2010 is currently compatible.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones that will synchronize the functions of Outlook 2010?

    Hi from a pre-newbie

'Before' because I have not yet bought a Blackberry, but it is seriously considering.  A big thing that is really important to me, but...

Can the "bits" of Outlook 2010 synchronize with a Blackberry?  To be precise, I really want to synchronize the following features in Outlook 2010 with equivalent enforcement in the Blackberry:

    Calendar

    Contacts

    Tasks

Notes would be desirable, but not essential.  Email, too, is desirable but not essential (I can use the web to access when I'm on the road).

I must point out that my Outlook 2010 works standalone on my desktop PC and that it is not connected to Exchange.

A Blackberry, with its associated desktop software, could meet my needs?

Thank you very much in advance for your comments.

Make sure that Outlook 2010, 32-bit, and 64-bit package.

    Thack says:

    Calendar

    Contacts

    Tasks

    Notes

Yes, on all four of the above.

Not on email, on a personal account of BIS. BES will reconcile your emails, but not a personal plan of BIS.

You will set up your email to place the smart phone BlackBerry directly from your mail server.

  • Need help with a 32-bit Thinapp had app to interact with Outlook 2010 x 64.

It is a specific example, but this isn't the only application that I have a problem with any ideas are welcome.

Here's the current scenario that drives me bananas.

The Thinapp - Visio 2010 (32-bit, of course), packed under XP SP3 with Office 2003 is installed locally.

    Target OS - Win 7 x 64 with Office 2010 x 64 installed locally.

Visio 2010 is running, you can virtually all do it... except, save and send-> Send as an attachment (or take the steps to e-mail).

Basically, I tried it is difficult to explain the specific error, because they vary from "There is no default mail client installed" as many variations of "Reinstall outlook" absolutely nothing happening.

The common theme is that the windows installer starts a repair for msmapi32.dll.  Insulation on the folder that contains msmapi32.dll (C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033) is set to writecopy.  I even tried including msmapi32.dll inside the thinapp Visio, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

Send as attachments work fine on XP SP3/Office 2003.  So I was wondering if anyone had some advice to get 32-bit apps to play nicely with x 64 apps.

I tried to turn on/off WOWon64 in package.ini, I've got the following in my buildoptions

    ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault = virtual

    ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions = Outlook.exe

    and VirtualiseOutofProcessCOM = 0

All tips/tricks beyond the ordinary, much appreciated. For now, it's time for me to go home and have a beer.

    Cannot conclude something concrete now.

It may be a good idea to install 32-bit office natively, and to observe the behavior. This way atleast we can reduce. Take your old installation that has worked for you in the other OS. Deploy it on 64 bit OS and see if it works.

If there is a communication problem with the 64-bit native applications. We need to varify if that actually works of native office visio and 64-bit native 32-bit.

  • Sending of text message (SMS) from Outlook 2010 to HP Slate 6 VoiceTab

    Hello

I have a HP Slate 6 voice tab.  I tried to send TEXT messages from Outlook 2010 to my HP Slate 6 voice tab (and to other numbers) without any success...  Is is due to the fact that I don't have the option to select "Sync SMS" in my email account Corp on my Tablet?   All I have is sync Email, Contacts & Calendar - No. SMS.

The Android version on my tablet is: 4.2.2.

    Thanks for your response!

    I work for HP

Hi Questions_HP, welcome to the Forums of HP. I understand that you are unable to receive SMS messages sent by Outlook 2010. It seems that you have to either have an Exchange Server or 3rd Party SMS service involved for this to work. Beyond that, I don't know what requirements must be met to do this, the only information I found on the topic was this document: send and receive text messages (SMS)

You may have more luck finding information in the forums focused on Outlook. Post a solution if you find one.

  • OUTLOOK 2010... 64 or 32-bit

My PC is supposed to be 64-bit but when I open Control Panel and watch MAIL it shows "E-MAIL (32-bit).  Can someone please explain this to a non expert from Microsoft?

    Hello

Most 32-bit programs will work quite happily on Windows 7 64 bit. Some programs require 64-bit specific versions to run on Windows 7 64 bit.

Microsoft Office 2010 (which Outlook 2010 is a part of) can be installed either a 32-Bit or 64 - Bit version on Windows 7 64 bit (both versions are on the Outlook 2010 installation DVD). In fact, the 32-bit version of Office 2010 is the recommended to install for most users who have Windows 7 64 bit. Preinstalled versions of Outlook 2010 are likely to be 32-bit.

Basically what you see, it's normal.

  • Redirection of IE in Outlook 2010 problem

I have a RDSH server with the following configuration:

    Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 version 6.1.7601

vWorkspace 8.0.0.1167 RDSH & Broker for connections of the roles

    32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 version 14.0.6129.5000

    Internet Explorer 10.0.9200.16635

I'm currently implementing IE server of URL redirection to the client. I have configured the following registry value according to the Administrator's guide:

    HKCR\http\shell\open\command

    Default REG_SZ "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Quest Software\vWorkspace\IE Redirection\iexplore.exe" %1

If I look in control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set default program Associations Programs\Set, the present value by default for HTTP is displayed as Quest vWorkspace Internet Explorer.

If I open links in Word, Excel or wordpad URLS are redirected to the local IE as expected. However, links opened from Outlook still open in Internet Explorer in the session RDSH.

Is there anything else I need to settle for redirect links in Outlook?

    Any help appreciated.

    Scott.

Since getting no answer to that, I put aside the issue for a while. Fortunately, I worked on the solution while fixing a link IE problem I was having in Outlook 2010 on a Citrix Xenapp server farm.

Outlook 2010 does not use the type of HKCR\http Protocol listed in the guide admin vWorkspace for the opening of its links, despite the fact that all the other Office applications. To access Outlook to redirect the links you need to change this:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\opennew\command

    Default REG_SZ = "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Quest Redirection\iexplore.exe" %1
