Artifacts strange screen with my 1 GB ATI Radeon HD 4850

My (now 4 years old) configuration:

HP Pavilion Elite HPE-170 t

  • Intel Core i7 - 860 quad-core processor [2.8 GHz, 1 MB L2 + 8 MB of cache N3 shared]
  • 8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM
  • 1 TB hard drive 7200 RPM SATA 3 Gb/s
  • 1 GB ATI Radeon HD 4850 [2 DVI, HDMI and VGA adapters]
  • LightScribe SuperMulti DVD burner
  • Player 15-in-1 memory cards, 1 USB, 1394, audio
  • No TV Tuner
  • Creative Sound Blaster X - Fi Titanium

From the other day, I get artifacts strange screen. Sometimes, I have horizontal lines, vertical bars sometimes, square pink sometimes strange checkerboard (which will sometimes disappear when I use my mouse wheel).

I have updated all drivers started in safe mode, returned a few weeks on recovery - and a lot restarted. Sometimes mistakes have been fixed, sometimes not. I also cleaned all the dust from inside. Time here are almost the same everyday also.

I guess the video card goes wrong, but I hope that there may be an easy fix, I forgot. If this isn't the case, I need recommendations for a new video card.

Thank you!

I received and installed a new video card, and the problem is now solved.

See the thread below for the reolution:

I did some research on google about this problem and I see no useful solution. My problem is on Ati Radeon Hd 5470. When I switch to Ati Radeon I see just black screen and if I don't disable it in safe mode it keep black screen display. I tried everything to fix it, but nothing happened.  I hope you can help me because I couldn't find the solution by myself.

Hi uAunknown, welcome to the Forums of HP. I hope that the blue screen and screen black behavior you are experiencing is pilot-related and not related material.  First restore the original graphics drivers (Intel & AMD) using this method: use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7)

Then, download and install the drivers updated here:

  • Strange screen with acer Liquid Z220 shutdown problem

This has happened with my new phone smart acer Liquid Z220.

Turning on the acer screen "android-powered" rises.

    The three logo (my provider).

But then the screen turns white.

However, the phone doesn't work and responds to the touch (without seeing me anything).

Strangely, if I unlock directly to the camera, the screen lights up. But as soon as I leave the camera shuts off again!

    Can someone explain/solve this problem?

Here's what I did with the phone since buying it two days ago.

    1. charge it

2 installed a few applications (whatsapp and managers of certain permissions, firefox)

    3. covered internet

    4. battery to ~ 10%

    5 display off

    6 put in charge

7 see above the description of the behavior.

    Please help if you can?

Managed on the basis of work this point - the phone has like "Adaptive brightness" which did not work properly.

Low levels of light, the screen would be white. In bright light, it would work. The software seems to be dimming to dark conditions, but it translated as a blank screen on the material.

I solved this by going to settings-> display and turn off Adaptive brightness.

  • Intel hd graphics with ATI Radeon graphics card replacement

Hi, I use a computer hp laptop G62 b51SI with a processor intel hd graphics card. However, thinking about changing or supplementing with a graphics card ATI Radeon for gamiing increased performance. Is it possible to do?

    Hello:

It is not possible without having to replace the motherboard together.

There is no removable graphics 'cards' in your laptop.  The GPU is soldered to the motherboard.

You will need to find a mother supported listed in the service manual for your model is equipped with better graphics and then try to find out where you can purchase a because it is unlikely that HP has more of them.

And when I unplug cable HDMI, the screen stays off until I restart the computer. The HDMI cable needs to be connected to anything in this case. It makes me batty to be honest

Never mind, figured it out. It is the HDMI2av converter. The converter might work power HDMI port or a separate power connection. The card is not enough voltage to run it. Then when I plugged it without external power supply it would draw so much tension that he caused the GPU to lock up.

  • ATI radeon hd 4250

I have a laptop dv7 with the graphics processor ATI Radeon HD 4250.  Lately when I turn on the computer (with power supply), the display goes dark (completely off) after the connection and will not return once again.  I guess the screen darkens when the system tries to start the 4250.

If I turn on under battery power, the screen works fine, no doubt because the 4250 is not be started up as an energy saving measure.  After bootin fully upward under the power of the battery, I can plug in the power adapter and switch to the 4250 with no problems.

Is there something I can do to 'reset' the 4250 so that it starts properly?

BTW, I am on Windows 7 and the pilot of 4250's is up to date.

    Hello

    Try this...

Start the PC with Intel graophic (on drums), remove the drivers of graphics ATI Control Panel (this will remove possibly driver Intel also). restart the PC (this time PC should start with the basic of windows drivers (no ATI not Intel).)

Download and reinstall the driver from hp.com.

It will be useful. Good luck!!!

    Hello

I bought the HP Pavilion g7 1226-em with the graphics card ATI Radeon HD 6470 M. I installed Windows 7 64-bit. I can't download the driver of your Web site. For this laptop, I found this link: AMD graphics card HD Drive and here I must download sp55025.exe (338,94 MB). When I click on this link I received the following message:

Sorry, we can't find that page. The page you are looking for is no longer available or has been moved.

    Direct download link is: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55025.exe

I can't download driver because they said to download the driver from HP and now I'm at an impasse on AMD.com.

    Help, please.

    Thank you and best regards,

Try the link again? I managed to start the download.

  • Strange khaki screen with vertical lines

    Hi all,
I desperately need help! Please help me. I've never had problems with my Toshiba satellite. But, today I was turning away, but... the only thing I had was a strange screen khaki color with vertical lines in the colors of the spectrum. I tried on several times, but each time the result was the same. And also the screen becomes darker and darker while I am interested in it. And at some point, the computer is a function that seems to restart and the result is the same...

I do not much about computers, but I know something serious. Diagnose you something for me...
    Thank you, Ana

    Hello

The pictures on the screen appear like behind a fog?
This looks like a failure of inverter FL.
This part is placed behind the screen and is not very expensive.
In my opinion, you will not be able to replace yourself and I wouldn t recommend this if you have no experience.
I recommend to contact Toshiba service partner in your country and technicians must first check the laptop.

    Good luck

With the Xpress 200 integrated graphics, you will not be able to get Aero or other effects of Windows 7.

You can adapt a motherboard graphics card: AGP or PCI-E slot there. A Radeon 3400 or other card compatible Windows 7 can be pretty cheap and would provide Aero and other effects of Windows 7.

  • Screen resolutions possible for external monitors connected to a T60 with ATI Radeon X 1300

    Hello

at home, I have my Thinkpad T60 with ATI Radeon X 1300 graphics running in a docking station with an external monitor connected to the DVI. I plan to buy a new screen and I wonder who will take care of screen resolutions of my system. My favorite among the possible new monitors have a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels. The ATI chipset will support this setting?

A big thank you to anyone who displays some tips

    Georg

It supports dvi up to 1920 x 1200 resolution.

  • A Dell U2414H can work with a mac Pro 3.1 (10.9.5) and an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT?

    Hello

Here's my dilemma. I recently bought a Dell U2414 as a 2nd monitor to replace my old 2407FWP Dell (has died) with the understanding that the new monitor would work (via a DVI to mini displayport cable). I bought a high quality 3rd party DVI to mini display port cable. Obviously, the monitor does not. I can't get a direct Dell response if this will never work. My hunch is the graphics card can not simply to manage this monitor and it won't work with my system.

FYI: I also have an old DELL G2210 (resolution: 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz) on the other DVI port. So I'll still need a DVI port.

Here are the current video card info:

ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT: VRAM (Total): 256 MB

Here is my Mac info (on 10.9.5):

Model name: Mac Pro (early 2008)

    Model identifier: MacPro3, 1

Processor name: Intel Quad - Core Xeon

    Processor speed: 2.8 GHz

    16 GB OF RAM

Firstly: If someone can give an answer as to if the monitor works with this graphics card, just to settle this matter and move?

Second, assuming that no, my choice appears to be:

    1. return the screen and try to find another 24 "that will work with the original map (someone there suggestions for what is currently still deployed that would work with such an old graphics card?)
    2. upgrade the map so it can handle the new monitor but still run the old.

I chatted with OWC on this subject and they suggested 2 possible upgrade cards but they will not be returned since they could not guarantee that they will work with this monitor there is a risk.

Dell has been pretty useless (I have no one said yes, the other doesn't).

Here are some suggestions from OWC (see below). Can someone comment and tell me if or the other will definitely work or offer another solution? I would really appreciate it!

Or more likely: ATI Radeon HD 5870

I know there are more expensive options (Saphire?), but I don't want to spend $500 for a graphics card on a 8 year old computer.

    Thank you!

    Best,

    Joel

This is a screen with a displayPort, a DisplayPort outside and a Mini DisplayPort connector, in 1920 by 1080 max resolution.

You are WAY overthinking this. A mini DisplayPort to mini DisplayPort or a Mini DisplayPort to [size] DisplayPort should do all the work for about US$ 10, no conversion.

You don't need another card unless your is dead.

  • Behavior strange screen/video Satellite Pro P100-109

I have a strange problem with my Satellite Pro (P100-109 model pspa3e 00n009du). I edge video card printing is letting me down, so if anyone has a solution so please help!

Yesterday, while working properly since I bought the machine, I had a strange video behavior. Black icon arround windows not updated correctly etc.
After a restart of the system, these problems seemed resolved, but it lasted just a view minutes.
After awhile, I got a blue screen (BCCode: ea BCP1...) BCP4:00000001 SP: 2.0) learned Internet research that his had to do with the video driver.

    Symptoms of the display:
-Vertical dotted lines shown on the screen of the bios toshiba (variety of colors)
-Loading of Windows show a few vertical lines as well
-After loading the clickable elements appear black (not titles of window - no buttons shown/rendering)
-L' screen goes black every 4 seconds
-System responds very slowly, but sometimes it seems that it works normally
    -mouse disappears
-After awhile that I get a black screen, system does not answer more.
-In windows safe mode (so do not using the nvidia drivers), the display seems to work normally

DID the next trying to solve my problem in vain:

-J' I uninstalled/removed the nvidia drivers and installed the last on the toshiba site.
-Deletion of original and installed drivers drivers Guru3D site (also used the Driverutility from the same site).
-J' I uninstalled/removed the nvidia drivers and installed the original
    -Upgrade to SP3

Uninstalling the driver (in safe mode) and so to use a generic driver only seem to work.

Anyone know how this can be resolved or are these signs that the nVidia GeForce Go 7900 has been roasted.

    Hello

    Long story. short answer...

It is really possible that your GPU chip malfunctions.

I came to this conclusion because the laptop don t symptoms occur if the graphics driver is not installed.
If the graphics card driver is installed the graphics card would go with the best performance and possibly graph questions would appear once again.

I think that you can't do anything to what might solve this problem outside to contact the ASP in your country and ask for help.

    Good luck

  • problems with ati radeon x 600 in dc7600

    Hi-
Newbie here... I just installed a X 600/256 MB card pcie ATI Radeon in the HP dc7600 SFF and getting white 4-5 screen when starting with Windows XP.

She also stopped twice in the past two weeks as the card has been installed. No problem with integrated graphics.

My question is: I have loaded which, in my view, are the correct drivers from this site and the AMD/ATI site. Could someone please tell me / link me to drivers. Some do not list even the X 600 just X 550 / X 1050. No use gamming or heavy on this machine. ¿¿Would I better too just stick with the integrated graphics card?

    Hello

I suggest to remove the card, reinstall the drivers for the integrated graphics card and using the onboard graphics for a week as a test.

If the white screen start and stops disappear then you have found the culprit.

If you do not need higher resolution graphics, you are definitely better with the embedded video solution. I suggest using the original drivers.

What dc7600 do you have? (CMT, SFF, or ultra-Slim form factor are the three versions)

  • Tecra S10: undefined screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800

    Hi all,

I have a strange problem with the resolution of my Tecra S10.

    My system:

    * Windows Vista, later lowered to Windows XP SP3 with the last update
    * Latest Toshiba nvidia drivers

My default resolution is 1680 x 1050 initially and the display is sharp and perfect proportional to the screen (15.4 ", 16Million color), even if the icons are quite small.

I changed my resolution of 1280 x 800 using the steps described in the user manual. But the screen is fuzzy and ill-defined.
According to the manual of Toshiba (Tecra S10 Satellite Pro S300) my NVidia video card supports the resolution of 1280 x 800 WXGA mode.

How can I put mode WXGA?

I appreciate all suggestions that solves the problem.

    Best regards
    Biagio

    Hello

To be honest you write on this is certainly not a problem but something usual for views. The display will be sharp and perfect when you set the view to the native resolution only.
If you choose some other low or high resolution the illustrious office will be either too big (does not fit in the display) or will be blurred.

The same situation is on my Tecra M1. Test it on all laptops, and the situation will be the same. I'm now working on Satellite P200 with 17 inch screen. For this display's native resolution is 1440 x 900.
When I reduce the resolution the office is always fuzzy and ill-defined.
