  I had the same problem!  I tried to put a small amount of lubricant on the Guide for the head, but printing pin

  that did not help.  I've finally isolated the squeaking of the little wheel that holds the right hand strand of the

  small toothed belt that moves the print head back.   Be sure not to make the lubricant on anything else

  or you can lead to other problems.  I used a silicone lubricant designed for securities of garage door because it is thicker than

  most lubricants and is easier to do not all fall inside the printer.

  I am upgrading to a new HP printer and want to donate my 6500 a, but need to erase history calls first.  It has been a tool to clear the fax log, but how do I clear the call history?  I checked after clearing the fax log, and all the phone numbers are always listed in the call history.

  It turned out that, I contacted HP by phone and received excellent help.

  There is a subset menu which can be found when you press the icon 'back'... on the icon outside the lit display that doesn't show until you type.  They had me find the appropriate page and make a "partial reset".  Brings back the printer to the page where the next time it is turned on, it will ask for questions of initial set-up and all the memory is deleted.  So I have been able to give the machine to the local women's organization helping women with no problems that I can also gave a list of contacts!  Thanks to HP for the excellent customer service!

  I have a HP 6500 All In One Printer has in the network with a router BERSR41 V3. I use an Imac with this printing and scanning system. For some reason, I keep losing the printer when I try to scan? I put it to a static IP address and cannot ping, but can access the printer through the network with the HP utility. Did I miss something in the router configuration that requires him to keep losing the connection?

  jweatherly, unfortunately, it seems that your printhead may be dried or damaged. I would recommend that you replace it if a local retailer or through HP directly.

  However, the print heads can be an expensive part of the printer to replace. It might be useful to follow the steps, he did and see if it improves your print quality, since he worked for others.

  as far as I see it, there is nothing wrong with the PDF, or, when open in Illustrator, with the Illustrator file.

  I did a print test and that is okay.

  So the problem is printing.

  I suspect they use old tax software to combine multiple cards on a sheet and this mess the file.

  Transparency could be their problem.

  If you save the file to PDF / X - 1a: 2003 (save a copy please), then it becomes a pdf mute, usable for the software of the previous century.
