• Oracle 11g upgrade in AIX 6.1 with HACMP

  Hi friends,
  
  As I have two Power servers in AIX 6.1 with oracle 10g in HACMP in which SAP application runs.
  
  That is independent of database and other Central Instance.
  
  I did 11g successfully upgrades in my DEV and QAS servers which are nonclustered environment.
  
  Now I want to upgrade even in PRD tends in HACMP.
  
  Let me know what are the areas should I focus especially on the servers in cluster environment.

  I'm still not sure what you mean by a DB server and a CI server.

  In a configuration HACMP, 2 node, Id expect to see something like

  / U01 hosts ORACLE_HOME locally on each node
  /u04...etc/u03/U02 are HA mounts you will see on the active node. In your case I suppose that its all the materials for lv, but if that's true you also put your ORACLE_HOME to be a point of mounting HA

  on your passive node, compare the mount points and itll be clearer. If you have your Oracle_home to be as much a mount HA, Id be careful with who you are, then past to the operating system with host names on install. But anyone who installed it would be tested failover (you hope) leaves thus temporarily assumes its ok. It's easier then on you that you only 1 upgrade to do and that is on the mounted oracle_home.

  In the release notes for Designer 10.1.2.6 it are not about setting up Oracle Designer to work with Oracle 11g form (this is a quote of Designer 10.1.2.6 is now available. )

  The latest versions of these two software are compatible - database Oracle 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.3) and Oracle Fusion Middleware 11 GR 1 material (11.1.1.6).

• Set the events in oracle 11g for SAP

  Recently, we have updated 10.2.0.4 oracle database at 11.2.0.3 (AIX 7.1) for the SAP application.
  
  Some settings of the default event have been set when the database has been executed with 10.2.0.4 version. After upgrading to 11.2.0.3, these events have not observed pfile/spfile. However, the post_upgrade log shows that these events have been defined (and journal displays a list of events as well).
  
  Now, my concern is whether the settings of the event have been put already by default (if it is already set after upgrade, don't know why pfile reflecting is not them) or do I have to adjust the settings manually.

  See SAP Note 1431798 for a list of the parameters of the event required. These are correct. You must also run the last Patch Bundle SAP that specifically tells you to set these events after the installation of the hotfix. If you have run the wrapper of dbua SAP by their 11g upgrade instructions, I think that it defines these events for you as well.

  If you are upgrading a database in place (i.e. without reconstruction, without import-export), Oracle has no other choice than to support the application of raw device.
  However, when you install the Clusterware 11.2 it cannot be installed on raw devices - one is not supported!

• The appeal of report on the menu (Oracle 11g form)

  I'm calling a report to a menu item in a menu (to which is attached a form) in Oracle Forms 11 g directly and I am having some trouble. I don't know how to call a report from a form and everything works perfectly.
  
  But since there is no element called 'Report' to attach as there are forms on a menu, I followed the route that is attached to the PL/SQL library "rp2rro" on the file menu (mmb) and I even made on the form itself. Then when you convert a menu by using the Migration Wizard of forms, he comment statements like "ADD_PARAMETER" and replace it with calls to procedures/functions bundled in the package "rp2rro". I put all the parameters

  See your forms/server/forms.conf file.
  It contains the virual directories:

  ...

  You can use one of them, but also to add new example:
  # Virtual path documents
  AliasMatch ^ / forms/docs / (. *) "C:\.../docs/$1".

  You copy your html pages to the physical directory, then view with the following:

  Web.show_Document( '/forms/docs/my_page.html', '_blank');

• Oracle 11g install on Vista is VERY VERY SLOW

  Hey everybody,
  
  I just got my work PC upgraded to Windows Vista and I am trying to get Oracle 11g installed on it. I started the installation process, but this thing moves super slow. It happened for about 2 hours and it is only 9%.
  
  Is there something I can do to speed up the process? Can I disable some sort of indexing file space? Are there any Vista background that I have to close during the installation?

  I am able to connect to Oracle 9i. but I want to connect to Oracle 11g

  Are there measures where I can solve my problem.

  already had made the following changes to the server

  C:\ > sqlplus/nolog

  SQL > connect / as sysdba

  Conectado.

  SQL > startup restrict

  SQL > alter database character set internal_use UTF8;

  SQL > shutdown immediate

  SQL > startup

  Under sqlnet.ora I changed

  I'm still not able to connect.

  1. what error message do you receive forms 6i when you can not connect

  2. what level of Forms 6i patch do you have?  A more recent patch level may be required.
